Items in Super Smash Bros. Melee are NOT for weaklings. It all depends on how you can use them. Your opinion, agu, is simply biased. You can't just kill anyone by repeatedly whacking them with a Lip Stick. It takes timing and accuracy to use a Super Scope. The Super Scope is like Samus's canon, but harder to use because you can't keep it charged. Weapons require a hell lot of skill.

You could then say that Mr. Game and Watch's Side B attack is cheap, because you can get the effect of a home run bat from it. But that's based on luck.

Same with Pokeballs. When using Pokeballs, you're taking a big risk. Will it be a Snorlax, or a useless yet rare Mew? It takes skill and courage to use Pokeballs.

Thank you Magnius. I prefer a well tossed bomb-om or motion sensor mine myself. I like making things go boom. 3nodding

All right, time for the Prince of Title maintenence to make an obligatory titling rave (I do not wish to be called the Prince of Title Maintenence, it was spur-of-the-moment)

Magnius of the Chaos recived the title "chuckwagon"
Description: "the man who loves to throw stuff"

Isamaru Windsoul gained th title "BOOM!!"
Description: "I love making things go boom"

Agumike, Catcha, Raitokage, and IndignantSchizophrenia280 gained the title: "Item hater"
Description: "Only liers and thieves use items... and those people go to prison... Just ask the Cheat"

((apologies for the H*R reference, I just had to use it))

However any item becomes useful, especially the weakling pokeballs, when thrown correctly. Fan is the best item to throw.

I agree completely with Magnius. It's all in how you see it. I don't like them because I like to just beat the crap out whoever I'm fighting and be done with it, unless they want some more... And hopefully they do. But Sieg and Magnius are completely correct. I'm pretty good with some. I'm an awesome shot with a Bob-omb. I'm also very good with the Home-Run Bat. But I still don't like them. At least I tried them first, ne? If you haven't tried them yet, do so. Then decide whether you like them or not.

My favorite items...

Attack-wise
- Warp Star (Mass destruction, can't be blocked and easy to aim)
- Pokeball (Snorlax, Sycther's evolved form)
- Super Scope (Good for one hit KOs, easy to aim, fast charge)

Crowd Control
- Pokeball (Anons, Venusaur, any Legendary Pokemon)

Throwing
- Home Run Bat (Nice damage, able to use again and again)
- Bob-omb (Nice damage, hits large area)
- Capsules (Nice damage, easy to find, can explode)

Stage Knock Out
- Ray Gun (Blast over and over)
- Pokeball (Blastoise)

Strategy
- Motion Sensor Bomb (Good for weakened enemies)

I guess I should put it more into that they rely also more on luck, and that they can get in the way!!! IT IS SOOO ANNOYING!!! @_@

BUT!!!!!
Items are fun! I love the shells, and you can SOOOOO kill someone with the Lip's Stick!

Zapdos' charge is cool too. I don't know if I just missed something or what, but once I got a Mew, and it actually looked like it did 1 damage to the guy that I had previously hit with a pokeball. Here's how it happened: I threw a PB, it hit his shield, and he ran forward to attack me. At the same time, the PB hit the ground and Mew came out. He took some damage, and got sent back a little. Mind you, he did take very little, but there wasn't anyone around him to have hit him, and no SAmus to have hit him with an uncharged shot. So if any one can explain it to me, please do. It confused me.
