But guys, life isn't about what you amount to or what you accomplish. It's about being happy and doing what you want to do. Feeling guilt or shame or obligation and using that emotion as your motivation to do things will result in you doing what you think you 'should' be doing and not what you want to do. You could spend every day just doing what made you happy and even if that didn't make you rich or popular or attractive, you'll have lived a successful life.

And while we're on that subject: Mizu, what do you want to do?
It always strikes me as really odd that the most insightful comments are also the most glaringly obvious. Like, not to diminish any of what you've said, but people applaud others on stage for saying things like "we can't be too extreme for either option x or option y, we have to take the middle ground and find some kind of temperance between the two because it's the only way to get anywhere." That kind of statement is so applicable to almost any situation to which there are two sides that it sometimes strikes me as stupid when people go "oh man what an interesting idea!"

I think it's less the merit of the idea and more that they never thought about it that way. For example, who would honestly just up and quit if they decided they didn't like their job? Most people see that choice as suck it up and try for a promotion, or look for a different one before leaving. So many people don't even realize that just dipping is an option that when someone points it out, the audacity blows their mind.

Here's the thing. I need to be on disability, because honestly, I can't work. I know I can't. I try to deny that I'm in this pain and pretend that I can do whatever I want. I know I can't, and the fact of the matter is that I'm probably going to be like this for the rest of my life.

Now, my one mad skill that I think I have is writing, but I never just sit down and ******** do it like I need to. I'm sure I can write a book. I can write the best fiction. But I can't get it to flow.

tl;dr i need to get serious about my life

This feel. Like, I can quit Walmart, but I feel like the damage is already done. Winter rolls around and ******** my body. D;

If you ever want to bounce ideas off of someone, I'm here for you, bro. Mine are usually terrible, but they are also usually springboards to greatness. 3nodding

Re: Ambitions discussion

I want to excel in what ever it is I do. If I'm cursed to do Walmart the rest of my life, I at least want to be able to say "Well, at least I'm the best here."

Beyond that, I kind of want to go into a business selling computers. Rent to own, so more people come by (read: poor folk).

Voice acting is the current ambition, and it seems more solid than previous ones.

There are almost always fandubs getting created on Youtube. A lot of them openly accept auditions. It's unpaid and it's far from professional work, but it's definitely some hands-on experience in the field, and if you find a movie or series you're passionate about, you'll have a lot of fun, too.

I'm so happy right now. biggrin
I don't think Zach realizes, cause I guess I'm not showing it enough. But I am pretty freaking psyched.

Also thanks for all the congratulations everyone who offered them. heart

I'm curious. Did you guys agree to wait until you had your own place and all your s**t sorted out, or had you not discussed the subject at all, or... idk it feels like you guys should have been engaged forever ago.

What kind of wedding do you want? Big? Small? Traditional? Themed? I think I remember something about Alice in Wonderland, but that might be another couple.

(oh also congrats, I'm really happy for you guys)

There are always other options, too. A fandub is the best way to be noticed, because you can use the popularity of the fandom as a springboard if you're good. I mean, Octopimp and his Homestuck stuff is basically the epitome of that. But if you aren't worried about that sort of thing, you can always put up stuff like recordings of books, or do what I did and start a radio show.

No we hadn't really agreed to anything. Like we had talked about it a couple times, basically deciding even though knew we were probably, eventually getting married we just didn't feel ready to take the next step of saying we were actually definitely getting married. So him bringing it up yesterday was a total surprise and at the time I didn't catch on right away. redface

We don't actually want a big wedding but I think it will end up that way cause we know a lot of people and wouldn't want to exclude anyone. And I don't really know what a "traditional" wedding is because I've never been to a wedding and don't know too much about them. I would guess that it probably won't end up being traditional. It is supposed to be Alice in Wonderland themed. I think Azn is going to end up planning it for us, because she is kind of looking into that career and has been wanting to plan it for years and then I won't have to pay someone.

And thanks!

Also, cause I don't think it has been said on Gaia. We don't have traditional engagement rings. We are getting tattooed ones, hopefully (assuming I can find an artist) this coming weekend.

Sounds like it's gonna be a lot of fun. Do you guys have a timeline set out or have you not set an actual date yet?

We have not set a date. I'm not sure how soon in the future we are thinking because being married can effect college financial aid so we have to explore that and make sure that we shouldn't wait for that reason.
