The Betman Cabron LaSwan To: Adele CC: Taylor Swift
Nobody cares that you get overly attached to your boyfriends and that they can't live up to the expectations you put on them. You are a role model whether you like it or not, and the message you are sending teenage girls is that it is okay to depend on someone else to make you happy and blame them for your own emotions when they don't. You are an adult, and while it's fine to vent, if you really have enough going wrong in your love life to need to write entire albums about, you probably need self-worth counseling, not a record deal. Please, for the good of the next generation of women, write one song that isn't about you or your personal life. Just one.
Sincerely, someone who is sick of her sister's heroes encouraging her to be self-centered and dependent. Also hearing you whine incessantly about how you can't get the one thing you covet rather than appreciating the thousands of things you have that other people covet.
P.S. Writing, recording, and publishing a ******** song to your exes is the high-profile songwriter equivalent of posting their n***s on an "I hate my ex-girlfriend" site. Maybe you'd have better relationships if you didn't make yourselves notorious for petty post-breakup acts of revenge. js. hey do you like adele

I kind of see where you're coming from, but there are tons more artists who rely on their inner angst to make records (and money). Korn immediately comes to mind (whose singer was supposedly molested by his dad or something similar, if the song "Daddy" is to be believed. I wouldn't recommend a listen, it's depressing, even by my standards). Shouldn't they also "get over it" ? I'm not knocking you by any stretch, just throwing it out there.

Being molested and being dumped are two entirely different levels of mental trauma, and one song isn't an entire discography. Lots of people write songs about things that genuinely affect them in their lifetime as a form of catharsis. Alanis Morissette is probably the best example for this because she is guilty of writing at least one of the most vicious ex-boyfriend songs I've ever heard and I still have a ******** of respect for her; the difference is that she grew the ******** up.
A lot of people draw inspiration from personal experience, that's just a fact of art, but when all the personal experiences that inspire you come from relationships, what does that say about you as a person? 90% of Taylor Swift's songs (and that's a very lenient estimate) are about a fairytale ideal of love and the resulting temper tantrum she throws when it proves itself unrealistic. Meanwhile, Adele basically asserts that you might as well not even bother going after what you want because it's too much effort and you'll probably fail anyway. WELP.
Also, I don't watch the closest member of my immediate family justify the unfair and self-destructive way she approaches romance by blasting Korn in the morning (and if she did I probably wouldn't even notice because I'd be too busy complaining about the garbled noise coming out of her speakers). Maybe I should give them a break because they're young women and that's to be expected, but as long as their whining is encouraging the people I care about not to take responsibility for their own emotions, I'm going to be rather annoyed with them.

Cabron LaSwan smile I think I need this hung over my bed or something. I really would like to amount to something other than terrible puns but I just never have any kind of motivation.

Here's the thing. I need to be on disability, because honestly, I can't work. I know I can't. I try to deny that I'm in this pain and pretend that I can do whatever I want. I know I can't, and the fact of the matter is that I'm probably going to be like this for the rest of my life.
Now, my one mad skill that I think I have is writing, but I never just sit down and ******** do it like I need to. I'm sure I can write a book. I can write the best fiction. But I can't get it to flow.
tl;dr i need to get serious about my life

But guys, life isn't about what you amount to or what you accomplish. It's about being happy and doing what you want to do. Feeling guilt or shame or obligation and using that emotion as your motivation to do things will result in you doing what you think you 'should' be doing and not what you want to do. You could spend every day just doing what made you happy and even if that didn't make you rich or popular or attractive, you'll have lived a successful life.
And while we're on that subject: Mizu, what do you want to do?

And while we're on that subject: Mizu, what do you want to do? It always strikes me as really odd that the most insightful comments are also the most glaringly obvious. Like, not to diminish any of what you've said, but people applaud others on stage for saying things like "we can't be too extreme for either option x or option y, we have to take the middle ground and find some kind of temperance between the two because it's the only way to get anywhere." That kind of statement is so applicable to almost any situation to which there are two sides that it sometimes strikes me as stupid when people go "oh man what an interesting idea!"
