She slowly came to, stretching along the bed she'd shared with her friend. His scent was all around her, which made her smile as she stretched ever so slightly. Just the wrong thought could be her downfall and she had to remind herself of that all the time. Her eyes slipped open, she'd slept nearly half the day and her body felt weak though she'd regained energy she didn't even realize she'd used up. Sitting up the red head ran a hand through her hair, she was obvious to all the things that had gone on in her sleep and was now alone. Slipping out of bed she wondered where Black had gone. She was never one to wait and didn't have much patience. It took the red head no more then two minutes after she'd crawled out of bed to exit the bedroom. People seemed to go to and fro as she wandered the halls wondering what if anything was up. "Come out come out where ever you are" she said very softly to herself as she searched the halls for Black, peeking into random open rooms for him. It was then she peeked into just the right one and slipped in quietly, her hands holding each other behind her back as she studied him and his perplexed posture.

Thinking on a solution, Black quickly felt a presence behind himself. "I've told you Charles, stop asking about the shots. Now what do you wa--" He stopped as he turned around to see Katerina. "I didn't expect you to show up here." He told her as he stood up. "I'm just about ready to go to bed though. Care to join me?"

She smirked when he started talking, wondering who he thought had joined him in the room. Her hands were placed at her hips, a stance she'd gotten used to taking, when he turned to notice his assumption was incorrect. "I got lonely when I woke up ... A girl could get lost in this big place" she frowned, she hadn't bothered asking anyone where he was because they all seemed rather preoccupied. "To bed? I just slept the day away though ...." she looked down at her feet and sighed softly before smirking and looking up at him "But I'll keep you company until you fall asleep ... then I think I'll take a stroll through town"

"A fair warning, don't drink the water. Not that you can. A poison is going around the water supply." He told her as he took her hand. Simply enough, he lead her out of the medical wing and into the hallways. Back again were they at his room. He hopped on to the bed and patted the side next to him. "C'mon, I have something I need to talk to you about anyway."

She quirked a brow when he told her not to drink the water. She only wondered what kind of things went on on this Island. They didn't seem pleasant that was for sure. Suddenly she was uneasy about him even living here after she left "What do you want to talk to me about?" she asked after a long moment of silence as she been led through the hall ways. "Something bad?" she asked as she crawled on the bed and sat in a lotus position beside him

Katherine woke next to Matachi's sick bed. She had fallen asleep in the chair beside it. She rubbed at her neck that had a awful pain in it. She looked down then to Matachi who seemed the same. At least he had not died in the night. She had to find her clerks and find out what happend that night but leaveing him was hard.

Paradox was strolling in the castle, scrutinizing everybody that was there. Nobody seemed out of place, which made everything all the more worrisome. Whoever had done this was very good. Very good indeed.

When Katherine had finally pulled herself away from Matachi she saw Paradox. "Hey about what I said last ngiht. I didn't.. I am sorry. I was wrong of me to rant my problems to you." She gave a slight smile she hadn't ment to tell him she was sorry either. She didn't have to be after all.

Paradox didn't look at her. "No reason to be sorry about it. I know what stress can do. Besides, It's my job to help you deal with your problems. I am one of your general's, after all." Paradox replied in good humor. He still never looked at her. He had gone through it before, and he knew what it was like to lose freinds, and the people you loved.

"I think me and you are a like in ways we rather wish we weren't." She would leave it like that, she had agreed to have him on for his skill though. She would need that she knew in the times to come. For her armies might one day fight much more than mortal men.

Paradox gave a small salute, and turned to the infected areas. That was where the causer of all of this would most likely be. As he was walking away, he glanced back at Katherine. He hoped that she could pull through with this, a place where he had never had any strength.

Katherine went to change quickly. She wore this time a pair of tan pants and a light blue tunic her long golden hair again braided back behinde her. She had learned that one of her Clerks was dead the younger one. His father was very upset and had no heart to his work at the time. She hadn't time for that and hadn't had time to back ground the next she appointed.She headed down stairs getting just notes and no report since there was no one to put that together. She joined back with Paradox in the city soon helping. She even made a light heart joke to him, "People usually see you as frightening now you are close to a god for them." Meaning him helping them.

Paradox looked around, quickly, before Kaherine caught up. He heard what she said. It made him give a deep chuckle. "It is always nice when they see like that, but still, It would be so much better to be normal like you, even if I was that." He said back to her. He lowered his hand in a mock height comparison between them. Height gave him as many advantages as disadvantages. He could see farther off, and people could see him from farther off too.
