Kaleb swallowed a fork full of rice before replying. "I don't know anyone who could, if it's even possible to fix. It's another side-effect to using magic, like the sensitivity, I used to be just fine a couple years ago." Both of those would only get worse as he got stronger, but he considered it more than a fair trade for being able to really help people.

"Could talk ta one of yer teachers 'bout that. I mean we're suppose ta eat meat." He poked one of his canines with his tongue. "So it's probably not healthy ta not eat it"

"I did, and the teachers who have a similar problem just don't eat meat. There are ways of getting the required nutrition that don't involve meat at all." It felt like another food lecture was on the way, but Kaleb was too tired to get all huffy about Riley thinking he knew better. "At least I can still eat some meat," he said, stabbing a lonely piece of chicken and sticking it in his mouth.

"Yer missin out then. I mean ya can't eat greasy burgers or anythin." He'd hate it if he had to give up that kind of stuff. So Kaleb missed out and he didn't eat enough. That would be trouble one day.

"I-I know, sometimes I really miss real meat." Kaleb said tiredly, slumping a bit in his chair. He was usually content with whatever he ate and didn't crave certain foods often, sometimes the small amounts of meat he did allow himself didn't seem like enough.

"See so ya should try ta fix it." He waved his fork at Kaleb before he took another bite of the rice with the chicken. It would be better for his partner if he could eat everything he wanted to.

"I don't know how, it's like the... the fainting. I-I d-don't even know where to start." He frowned a bit at his meal and tried to eat some more, eating less than usual wouldn't help his being tired any.

He chewed on another piece of chicken and thought. "Maybe there's some enzyme missin or somethin ..." Weren't there medical diseases that did that? Maybe the magical side affect did something like that too.

"That's what I thought, since the energy is capable of denaturing enzymes. But there are so many different enzymes, and the effects of magic use are different with each person, so it's really difficult to pinpoint exactly whats being affected." He scooped up some rice and speared some more vegetables on the end of the fork to stick in his mouth.

The scientists could probably figure it out in a matter of hours, or maybe days, but he never wanted Kaleb to end up down there. That place was a horror story. "Maybe ya could try some medications that are meant ta help what that sorta stuff and see if ya can figure it out?"

"I-I'd have to talk to a doctor about that before I tried anything, I wouldn't want to make things worse by accident. I-I can still eat some meat, so it isn't that bad yet." He went through the tedious process of scooping up the last bits of rice on his plate, and licked off his fork. He wasn't going to have any second helpings so there would be plenty of food for Riley's lunch the next day.

"Ya should deal with problems while their 'yet' before they get into issues" That would be better than getting in trouble with things and having a major problem later.

"It's going to get worse no matter what I do now," Kaleb said as he stood up to take his plate to rinse in the sink. "Unless I decide to give up magic entirely, then there's a small chance it will recover slightly."

"But if ya figured out what it was then ya could take supplements or something and maybe fix it a little." He got up with his plate and the leftovers to put them away for later.

Kaleb put his plate in the dishwasher and rinsed off his hands. "That would probably work, but I still want to consult a physician first. It's hard to find doctors who are familiar with magic and it's effects on the body." As Riley put the leftovers away, he rinsed off the pot and pan and stuck both in the dishwasher with the plates.
