The examples i was giving were non-sheidl generator land battles.. but whatever.

Paul thinks he designed this alleyway of doom. he puts his trenches near the top of the mountain, and expects something to be unable to march up it.

I've seen plenty of mountains in my life, but if there's a vertical edge on one side, there sure as hell isn't one on the other.

Why do i get the sudden images of people rapelling down 300 feet from the top of the cliff, and on top of the gunning stations?

If this is all he can manage, then he shouldnt have left the farm.

I still think the problem lies in the vocabulary.

Mountain is generic. Especially when you begin to describe a valley, it means 10k feet or higher.

Then we have this "cliff" which is mentioned, which converts this mountain into more of a ramp.

Then we have it in a mountain range, which means that there are mountains in a line. I'm still failing to see this "valley with mountains on both sides of it" that makes this sort of hogan's alley.

at best a winding path, but since we're fighting on an inclined slope or attacking a flat wall, that matters not.

I mean, this is Abregado Rae. It has few mountain ranges to begin with, plus, its a farmland community. So in essence, it's like attacking cheyenne mountain.

And what Paul manages to do is make complete genocide only become a slaughter.

Mountain Range...Here, I'll see if I can get you a pick of what I mean by Valley...

Theres really no point in discussing this any further with him.
He's already broken the #3 most classic blunder.
Never get into a terretrial battle with the Imperial Army.

Lolz...

Yea, I don't even know why I brought it up, cause if anyone but Nelo, Cale, or Stellar brings up a Battle Plan all it does is get a "Z0MG U R 73H R374RD!"

So I guess I'll shut up about it

and half of murphy's laws seem to come to mind as well.

If you ever think you are doing something right, chances are you forgot something.

You're overlooking key things about your battleplan and the layout of your defense.
If you werent the Rebels, you'd have a pretty solid base.

You just need to think with using less conventional warfare. You're forces aren't near strong enough to take on the Empire which is why you need to think about how leave at the first sign of trouble.

Well, since you're willing to degrade yourself, I guess I may use the term.

That was a retarded remark. When have I made a battle plan? Stellar is brilliant, yes, but that should mean his comments are irrelevant. As for cale, when has he done anything but advise?

If you're curious as to why everything gets slammed down so hard, its because nobody is doing their research. Fundamental, basic errors. And it gets sickening.

I mean like, take for example when we were trying to decide to to promote to moff. what selection was there? If simple advice is hard to follow, how can we trust they can give it when time is due? This isn't a ploy for the moderators to piss on everyone they see because we're "untouchable". If anything, we're the opposite. But this "holier-than-thou" attitude being displayed at the slightest mention that their idea is flawed is just as bad as anything which could be thrown at us.

Inventing Force powers, godmodding characters, whining about any time they're critiqued? Why should i even give a damn what the hell you do?

No, if you want to go ******** some noobs up, go to the RP forum in Barton Town and do it there. They're dumb shits. we at least are trying to help keep some realism alive. But the first mention that something seems skewed, its all "OMG, I'm being Oppressed!"

If you don't like the advice, don't take it. But don't come bitchin to us when your plans fall apart due to inadequate description and a superiority complex.

Its amazing to me, though, is the amount that eveyrone wants to argue. Yet, when, as you put it, "Nelo, stellar, or Cale" decide to quit giving advice, everyone's like, "Oh, what do you suggest *sob*?"

either take the advice, or don't. If you dish out trash talk, expect it back. But don't complain about what's said just because you are on the losing side of the battle.

I'm just about to the point to ask CW whether commanders should be nixed, since we never had this much trouble until everyone began playing
"I'm a god, and also a general".

(God or General?)
Never be both... always choose one or another.

You've had wars before... You've had Cale Darksun put together a battle plan... though his usually involved stealing something. No, the problem with the "Generals" is that those we've got right now don't really understand what they're doing. That's been our problem.

I really need to create an idiots giude to tactics for the OGG don't I. Well here are a couple tips right off the top of my head.

Number 1. Be Inventive... The entrenched slope is a classic defense, and if you've got enough troops to use conventional tactics its a valid defense. But why stick with the classics? Just look at the rebels at hoth, who would have thought to use a tow line and trip up a walker?

Number 2. Know your Limitations... Are your forces well trained? disciplined? Or are they militia and citizen soldiers? Know what weapons you have, and more importantly know the weak points. Again, hoth is a good example, Veers attacks with a company of AT-ATs because he knows that they're the most difficult to bring down with the equipment the rebels have on hand. If he'd used a repuslor-tank company the attack would probably have been much more bloody, and taken longer to take down the power generators.

Number 3. Never depend on a single weapon or tactic... If you use a tactic or weapon enough the enemy is bound to come up with a counter or maneuver you into a situations where the tactic or weapon is nullified. This is also why I despise superweapons.

Number 4. Remember your objective... If you're fighting the empire, does it matter if you incurred heavy casualties before you're overrun? If your forces don't escape to fight another day you've lost. Remember both to aim for the mission objectives, be it escape, theft, or the destruction of the enemy force. You should also try to remember when to see that a mission is impossible and it's objective unattainable.
