((sorry, since i'm taking your word for how many you got, i don't know how far through you are. If i followed right, you have one left? If i am wrong, just ignore the last part of my post))

The boy asked a good question. Genjutsu was a tricky thing indeed.

"Now listen, you pose a good question and the answer is far from simple. As best as i can put it, The power of my genjutsu can affect your mind. There is although, two parts of the mind, the conscious, and the subconscious. Genjutsu can affect both parts of the mind, so even if you consciously know that it is shinobi jutsu making your perception of reality change, your subconscious still finds it to be real, and is affected as such. Now if you can use the power of your will and mind, you can cancel out the effects of genjutsu by comunicating with both sides of the mind. Thats exactally what this excersize is for. Helpig the communication with both parts of the mind. So what i'm going to do, is good for you!"

In another instant, he put Katagi back in genjutsu, smiling large. Deezers frowned and faced him.

"You enjoy that too much for it to be simply excersize . . ."

Krayte smiled and shrugged briefly, before turning his attention back to the kid.

(yep one left)

"Thats why..." he said as he thought of the answer and it was simple when he told him it. "Why didn't I see this in the first place?" Just once more and he knew this was the hardest one yet as his mind prevented him of not finding his way out of this genjutsu. "What do you think is more useful? Genjutsu or Ninjutsu...?" He said as he tried his best to get his way out of the genjutsu.

Breaking free from it he felt the effects of the genjutsu on him for the last time, he was exhausted as he's been walking in circles this whole time. "Whew...That was interesting." Going over what he did to break his genjutsu in his mind, it was simple...but what if it was a genjutsu he didn't know about? "Will and mind...interesting, How could i strengthen my Genjutsu like you did with yours? Not only that but what if my friends are trapped in a genjutsu?"

((ya, he's in our group as well. As well as sword of shadow's character, but sword informed me he'd have trouble being on for a little while, so ya, you're with us))

The child posed another question that put Krayte's mind to thought. This one was rather unanswerable.

"well, you see, they are very much distinct from each other. If the best genjutsu user were to enter combat with the greatest of ninjutsu specialists, it would most likely come down to who affected the other first. And strengthening genjutsu is much about knowing how the mind works and how you can affect it to advantage you best. Also, loads of practicing and understanding it in every aspect makes it at its best. As far as getting out of genjutsu, other than how you did, with will power, there are two other ways. First off if you can hurt yourself while under the effects of genjutsu, you will come to the realization that its in your head, seeing as pain is connected to both the counscious and subcounscious. The other way is similar. If you can cut off a point of the chakra network from the rest, it causes a brief chakra shortage that wakes you up, or something to that effect. Ooh, and there are means of waking your friends or allys from weaker genutsu by performing a certain hand seal, dependant on the jutsu in effect."

He had blew through that excersize with for the most part, great ease. Next Krayte would show him the wonder of the other side of it, performing it.

"But wouldn't the Genjutsu user have an upper hand? A Ninjutsu could be easily dodged while the Genjutsu could take place while while the other foe uses ninjutsu..." Katagi sat down to rest until his sensei taught him some more, and listened to what he had to say about strengthening up Genjutsu and releasing himself and his friends from a genjutsu. "Cutting off my chakra, causing pain or using my will and mind..." Three choices of breaking off the genjutsu, 2 out of the three sounded the safest and non threatening. "Which way is the best out of the three then? causing my self pain would sound the best but...not the one i would do in case i was cought in one."

The kid's curiousity failed to cease. It was good that he questioned a lot. Krayte was more than willing to give any advice or wisdom he had to offer.

"Well, if you have a superior intelect and will, you don't need to choose! Your mind will take care of that for you. That's why a keen sense of wisdom, and almighty will power puts genjutsu to shame. Which is also the reason as to why Genjutsu and ninjutsu can be considered equal. Just as you can dodge or evade genjutsu, you can supress of ignore genjutsu. It just depends on your power as a genjutsu user, compared to your enemie's will power. Also, keep in mind that hurting yourself might sound easy, but if your caught in a genjutsu that freezes you in place, you're gonna have a hell of a tough time trying to harm yourself, or anyone else for that matter. Now, how about we get on to part two of training. Before we begin, is there any technique pertaining to genjutsu that you already know?"
PostPosted: Thu Sep 20, 2007 4:18 pm

"True...Thats why i would have to balance out Ninjutsu and Genjutsu...and atleast a little bit of basic taijutsu i learned from the academy." So his own genjutsu would prevent others from inflicting pain on them selves? He couldn't wait to teach the genjutsu on enemies. "Basically when i cast Genjutsu, it's like casting a ninjutsu right?" He said as he didn't use his fathers genjutsu that he taught him from last year.

"essentially ya, they are similar in conjuration of them. It's just the format of their display that differs in using them. You are using your chakra to go directly into the opponent's head, instead of using chakra to affect the reality of this world. With genjutsu, you attack a world so much more inaccsesable than the real world. It will take a lot of hard work to perfect these jutsu."

At this point it was clear that deezers had lost all interest in the discussion and was in a deep sleep on a branch nearby.

"Well, my father taught me about this genjutsu his family line knew..." He stood up as he was finished resting. "It's Mukuro Kaseki no jutsu...It's interesting that it it makes the user think they're being petrified into a rock. I think i can try it but it'll take a big amount of chakra though..."

The rock petrification jutsu sounded interesting, but if it was a big cost of chakra, it was best that they began with a less exspensive one.

"Instead, why don't we begin work on a new jutsu. One that is basic, but powerful. It is called the Hell viewing jutsu. It allows a good bit of creativity. Simply by performing the handseal of the rat, you first cause imaginary leaves to spin around the target. From there, you may make the target see something horrible. You can make them see any horridity of your choice, but the better you know the opponent, you can make them see things that will tear themselves apart."

"Hell viewing jutsu?" He listened to what he had to say about it, this is the reason why he loved genjutsu so much...he can make any big muscle person crumble due to their mental health depleting to nothing. "So in other words...if i can get as much info on a foe i'm fighting...for example their fears or phobias...i could use the hell viewing jutsu with the combination of the information gathered right?"

"well, essentially, although. Technically, you need not know much for it to still be effective. But if you do happen to know some deep, dark, horrible thing, then that would definetly play to your advantage, no doubt. From someone who fears spiders, you can make see thousands of spiders, pouring from their best friends body, eating the friend, and then near the target. Or you can use someone's mother being tortured and killed byenemy ninja, that can be reillustrated, harming the opponent dearly. It's a personal favorite of mine, consdering it's so powerful, yet effective."

He turned his gaze around briefly, and took notice on how Deezers had wandered off completely. Suppose he is bored easily.

Katagi noticed that Krayte's talking cat vanished off some where, he needed all the training he could get but then again he understood that Krayte needed his own time to look for his brother. "Is it possible you can teach me this Genjutsu? Narakumi no jutsu (hell viewing) unless you want to take a break for today." He said as he didn't want to keep him busy.

The child offered a break which was nice, but unneeded.

"Dear child, i have no upcomming performances, and my life consists of nothing else really. But I will lieave deezers to train you in a few days to travel to amegakure and help my sibling. But for now, we have the hellgazing technique. Now seeing as I will naturally resist everything you throw at me, and I don't want to be continually cruel to animals, I'm reluctant to do this, but I will use another cat to test ths on. Now, if you have any trouble performing this on a helpless animal, fear not. I want you to make it see something it desires, but is incapable of getting, suppose a barrier around it. That is hardly hurting it's psyche at all. It gives you the practice, and all the cat does his squirm and meow, maybe evven hiss if it's aggressive.

He performed some seals, as well as drew blood, which resulted in the summoning of a small tabby. He set the tabby down in front of Katagi and smiled.

"Now go on, all you must do is perform the rat seal and focus what you want it to see, as a prrrrrrrrojection! of reality."

He paused briefly and looked at the boy. He starred him down, studing him. Finally upon drawing a conclusion, he spoke,

"I don't know if you have low confidence or something, or you just keep to your self or what, but you do not give off an entirely charismatic feeling. We shall work on that most definetly. For you personality, believe it or not, determines your skill in genjutsu. Your confidence is formed from the same mentality that makes all great genjutsu user, great. Well, not to take your mind off the task at hand, please, begin whenever you feel ready."

((Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique)
Narakumi no Jutsu is a Genjutsu that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The user will use the rat hand seal that causes an imaginary circle of leaves to spin and envelop the target and then fall away. Once cast, the world will appear normal to the target until they have already seen the illusion.
Cp cost: 10
Requeriments: Genjutsu 10 Ranks
Training days: 5 days.
Will Save: 10 + character level + charisma mod.

For you, you must roll a 12 to succeed (I'm factoring in your charisma modifier. 10 dc -2 charisma makes to DC 12.) Each try you make, you lose 3 chakra, whether it's success or failure. When you run out of chakra, you can take a rest post to regain 2 chakra. A day's worth of training is equal to 10 success i believe. So over the course of 5 days in ninja world, you will succeed 50 times to master the jutsu. And sorry if you know most of this already, i'm just covering everything to make sure. Oh ya, and word to the wise, try different things out. The bonuses awarded from training are laid much more generously, upon those with diversity. And i will give you your bonus from the resisting training you just did in combination with the hell viewing training your going to do, at the end. I think that covers everything, and i might not be on the rest of the day, so best of luck to you, hope i didnt miss anything. ))
