The female took the multitude of samples and made a slide of each one, carefully placing the broken down material in a solution and wiping it along the clear class. Another slate of glass was placed on top, and the liquid between flattened out almost to the edges; a perfect slide. She did this which specimens from all over the plant; from the tubers to the petals on the flowers. She wasn't going to miss a thing, she discovered this plant and she was going to make sure it was studied right. First was the unripe tumors; she spent a decent amount of time studying the slides and then testing the material against mostly live cells to see the effects. With the book beside her, she looked back and forth.

The effects of the tubers seemed to mimic those of the nightshade plant, which wasn't that surprising considering the two plants were very close cousins. Most immature tubers of the normal variety of the potato were also poisonous and reacted like the nightshade plant when consumed or injected. Sonyo was somewhat relieved to see that, even though the forest was made via jutsu, the plants that grew there weren't too far removed from their counterparts. She jotted down a note to collect more species of plants to see the effects of the Senju chakra on them, and see how far mutated they had become over time. It would be interesting to be able to make notes on a bloodline she barely knew anything about. She stopped for a second to bask in how amazing of an idea that was, jotted down a few more notes excitedly, before continuing.

The rest of the testing went pretty much normally, the same findings all around. She found, however, that because of it's chakra origin, the tubers of the plant were rich in chakra. If made in to a food, these ripe tubers could create astonishing effects that normal potatoes do not have. Sitting back in her chair, the chuunin ran a hand through her bangs, then made complex notes on her findings for the hospital, including the type of antidote they would need would someone accidentally consume the poisonous parts of this plant. She placed several samples in to test tubes and set them in to the fridge labeled "Wine-Mottled Suntatoes // Poisonous, do not touch with bare hands". After she was done with that, she cleaned up, then put her report in the the pile of other reports done that day.

Sonyo heard the mutterings of some kind of gennin tourney from nurses passing by the door, which lifted a sigh from the woman's lips. Knowing how out of hand genin could get, it was probably best to have some sort of medical ninja there. Sonyo grabbed her copy of the notes and made her way to the arena, somehow managing to put her hair up with only one hand along the way.

Even just a little more and she'd be without luck in ever waking up again. Many of the medical ninja overseeing her condition wondered why she was allowed to go so far to nearly kill herself over something as trivial as that genin tournament event. Zhi remained unconscious throughout being transported around the village. Although, to her it felt much more like a deep sleep. Her eyes darted back and forth under her sealed eyelids while she dreamt. The poor girl's mind cycled through rather comical variations of her recent experiences since becoming a genin. Everything from meeting Horus outside of the Kazekage's office to her recent match fighting Taylor came and went with out-of-the-box allusions and metaphors to process the information. **RECOVERY POST - Out of Combat & Sleeping [ +138 Chakra | Stamina Fully Replenished ]
More than anything else, Zhi's strong wish to better herself bled through as the most driving and important detail of her dreams. She watched her failures and shortcomings prod at her, making jest of her preparations and training like they had been for naught. All she wanted was to overcome her self, somehow. The real problem was... how? Outside of her room, there was quite a ruckus. Namely because of a concerned man and wife seeking out their daughter after just hurriedly finishing an important mission that had called them away from the village. "Oooh!!" Sonosuke wailed as he threw himself onto the unconscious Zhi's bedside, "How could this happen to my little Zippy! Don't worry baby girl, PAPA IS RIGHT HERE FOR YOU! BE STRONG!!!" Reina walked up behind her husband and gently ran her fingers through his hair as he dramatically soaked the bed sheets with his tears. Stepping around him, the woman neared her resting daughter and just felt herself unsure of which feeling to express. Reina lifted her hand from Sonosuke head and covered her face to hide her own fretful expressions, "Bishie... help her. Do something- anything. Help our Zhi wake up." The man sobbed and sniffed but shook his head compliantly to his wife's request. What kind of man- no, father would he be if he didn't do everything in his power to help his daughter in such a time of need? Sonosuke stood up and his eye's dojutsu kicked into overdrive. The many little hands that helped somewhat normalize his pupil's appearance began shifting about while chakra channeled into the golden eye. "Come back to us, Zhi." He sighed as he manifested a focused temporal barrier around the girl to speed up the recovery time exponentially. Within minutes, Zhi would show signs of coming out of her deep sleep-like state with contortions on her face in reaction to the ongoing dreams. Reina leaned in and kissed her daughter on the forehead before whispering, "Zhi... it is time to wake up now." **RECOVERY POST - Out of Combat & Sleeping [ Chakra Fully Replenished | Stamina Fully Replenished ]
"Mmmmmn... five more minutes, please papa..." Zhi grumbled tiredly as she rolled over to face away from where the voices were coming. Although, the desert's blaring light was all she turned to face. "Uuuuhhn." Zhi cringed and quickly turned over again to face toward where her parents were. Her eyes gradually opened, and the images focused into view. Immediately, she remembered the match with Taylor and how she passed out all of the sudden. "M-mama!? Papa!? I-I... I'm so sorry. I messed up..." All at once, she felt guilty and like she was expected to explain herself. Zhi hung her head but Reina and Sonosuke just exchanged confused glances. "Zippy..." Her father started to say as he looked back her way, "It's fine if you want to win, but we don't want you to ever push yourself that hard ever again. Understood?" Reina chimed in, "If there is anything we can do to help you prepare for the rest of the tournament, let us know. We're here for you." Her hand that had been covering her face had long since moved down to just resting over her mouth.
Zhi felt tears well up in her eyes now and she threw herself onto her father to hug him. "S-s-sorry! I'm really really sorry! After everything we did to help me, I still lost the-" Suddenly, she realized what had been said to her. "Whaaaaaaaaat!?" She gasped with disbelief, releasing her father from her hug to stare up at her mom with disbelief. "How did I win? What happened!?" Reina's left brow arched slightly then she replied, "Well... you were there, not us, but I guess you passed out before you heard your opponent surrender anyway." Zhi sat back on her knees atop of her bed and rested her hands in her lap to process this news. "So... I'm still in the tournament?" Sonosuke nodded and said, "That's right! You can still compete." Zhi immediately thought about Taylor, confused about why he'd throw the match even though he'd clearly beaten her. She knew better than to look a gift horse in the mouth, but didn't entirely extinguish her curiosity. Nevertheless, Zhi acknowledged that such a sacrifice meant that she had one more person to prove to that she was an excellent ninja too.
Zhi's hands balled up into little fists and her eyes flared with newfound determination. "Papa, Mama... I want to win. I want to show my skill as a member of the prestigious Zenshin family, the fastest in all of Sunagakure!" Reina was rather taken aback by this declaration. Zhi had never gone as far as to use her heritage as a reason to do anything, no matter how much she drilled it into the girl. This... caused the woman to smile rather proudly upon her daughter. "So... you're really serious about this now, huh?" Zhi jumped up to her feet atop of her bed and exclaimed, "That's right! If I've made it to the semi-finals, and only because the people close to me are helping me out, then I have to give it my absolute all!" Sonosuke interrupted worriedly, "Just a reminder, no more doing stuff that puts you in the hospital. Okay?" Zhi blankly stared down at her dad then laughed, "Okay papa! I'll be careful too." He just nodded once then started applauding his pride and joy. Reina set her hands on her hips and smiled. Whatever Sonosuke did might've been too effective. Their daughter's energy was already welling over like it had never been almost completely used up.

Zhi found herself pouting a little with the order to sit still for awhile after just getting herself so pumped up. Like a good girl, she did as she was told. Zhi plopped down onto her bed. Her legs were folded into a pretzel-like shape under her and her hands brought together in front of her as she steadily wove each of the twelve main hand seals, as well as a few other unique ones she'd learned lately. Her hands continued to flow through the motions of the several hand seals as chakra was steadily moved around her tiny body then put back to rest over and over. She wanted to make sure that there was no doubt in her ability to execute her techniques now. Sure, she had been told over and over that she was rather capable for someone being able to use such a variety of techniques, but it was meaningless to have that variety if her arsenal just tired her out all the time. Maintaining this focus was actually pretty easy the longer she did it with such distinct intent. It was strange to think that she hated sitting still so much for her whole life. What was so bad about it again? Zhi couldn't find a specific answer, but she did still kinda cling to the idea that a lack of movement meant a lack of achievement. Although, this meditation challenged that idea by offering progression without motion. An uncomfortable tingle ran up her spine as she dared to continue on with this endeavor. She was nearly reaching her limit for how long she could be still. Somehow, she knew that she had to get past that limit. She wanted so badly to better herself however she could right now. Zhi did her best to suppress the urge to get up and shake the feeling off with some jumping jacks or something. For a while, she was able to push the feeling back down to her lower back. It was still a little uncomfortable. At least it wasn't nearly as distracting as before. Zhi carefully regulated her breathing as a less imposing distraction from that matter so she could stay focused on this task at hand. This was really going well! Honestly, Zhi didn't think she could ever stand something like meditating for this long. If she wasn't actively trying to maintain her composure and focus she'd jump up and do a victory jig. No, she couldn't do that right now. "Haaahhh..." Zhi sighed to reset her breathing and the cycles of her meditation practice. With her breaths zeroed out again, she began once more to time it with her performing and chanting the names of the hand seals. "Saru, tatsu, ne, tori, mi, ushi, inu, uma, tora, i, hitsuji, u..." As each one was done, Zhi could feel her chakra reserves gradually becoming more and more concrete. That suppressed tingling feeling suddenly exploded up through her body again. Zhi cringed, nearly losing all of her composure in an urge to roll over into a laughing fit. It just tickled and tingled so much! No! No no no no no... NO!! Zhi wouldn't let herself give in. She took in a very very deep breath as she continued to weave the hand seals and then slowly exhaled. With each seal, the feeling shrunk back significantly until it was finally completely gone. She did it! That was the feeling that she had been fighting all her life, especially in the classroom at the academy. Holy cow, nobody could understand the level of accomplishment that Zhi was inwardly celebrating right now. Zhi finished on the last of her hand seals, a tori seal, and finally reopened her eyes. Her hands gradually came apart and she sighed one last time. "I... did it. Good gravy... that was so hard." Zhi suddenly jumped up atop of her bed again then hopped down off of it toward the room's window. Paperwork would be too much trouble for her right now, so hopefully her parents took care of that. Masato burst through the doors of the hospital, the elderly monk scooped up in his arms still. " Nurse!" He shouted as he stood in the doorway. The man's condition was something that would shock everyone who laid eyes upon him. The thieves that had inhabited their temple had really done a number on the man...not to imply that Masato hadn't done worse in return....
Two nurses would quickly respond to Masato's voice, bringing a stretcher and rolling the man back to an operating area of the hospital. Masato tried to follow but was stopped by an entourage of medic-nin who insisted that the surgeons wouldn't be able to fix him with Masato distracting them. He sighed, accepting that this was a necessary waiting period. His presence alone in the waiting room seemed to be unnerving other persons waiting. Masato would snort like a bull, aggravated with their actions and head to the roof of the institute.
"Damn..." He said to himself. There isn't really anything to do but wait now he would think. Taking this time, perhaps he would begin to investigate the red eye reflection he had seen. Masato closed his eyes, recalling the feeling he had when he had watched the opponent's actions seem almost visible before execution of it. Focusing chakra into his eyes, he would allow them to awaken. As he opened his eyes the flash of neon red would glow. His sharingan settled on the overview of the village. He awaited his caretaker's recovery while he adjusted to the new ability.

Masato surveyed the area for what seemed like hours. He grew tired of sitting after what seemed like hours. Still, a sufficient time had passed since he left his caretaker with the medic staff. A male medic would open the rooftop door, signaling to Masato to come see his patient. He walked impatiently down the flight of stairs behind the medic, his tense mood projected upon the entire hospital as though it was felt by all. Finally, the slow paced medic had reached Monk Anji's room. He allowed Masato to enter, warning him that the patient was still somewhat weak and would require rest. He came to his friend's side, barely conscious but much more healthy in complexion than earlier. He would spend several hours sitting and talking with the old man in simple banter as he had never done with anyone since he came to the village. Perhaps the old man was his one soft spot. Finally, Anji fell asleep, giving Masato a chance to slip out unnoticed.
As he left, Masato created a shadow Clone to head to the academy for some learning.
"Man and Spirit alike tell me I cannot withstand the storm…"
Theodin lay there in a hospital bed, his head wrapped in a bandage, his lower face and jaw covered in a roughly chest length beard showing how long he’d been there. His armor and weapons were stacked on the table across the room as the soft beeping of heart and brainwave monitors sounded rhythmically to show that he was still alive, but just barely. Suddenly, the rate of the beeps began to increase rapidly as a soft groan sounded from the wounded shinobi’s throat. His eyes slowly opening as he shielded them from the light in the room and looked around to figure out where the hell he was. “Sh**… What the hell happened? Last thing I remember was that weird thing making gods-awful noise….” He felt the tightness around his head from the bandages and started tugging at them until he could unwrap his forehead and head, his white hair falling free almost to his hips as he noticed the beard hanging from his face. “Damn, I must’ve been out for a while…..S***! Mom must’ve been worried sick about me,, I should hurry back home and let her know I’m ok.” Theo then noticed the IV and wires attached to him and started pulling the wires loose, freezing the IV before removing it too, then ran out of the room still in the backless hospital gown, not even thinking about the pile of equipment of his left in the room. In need of healing, Masato moved towards the hospital. His movements were slow and painful as the adrenaline from earlier had worn off. He dragged the body of the man who he had just burned a scar upon his face behind him. Finally, after what seemed like hours, he reached the hospital. He dropped the man off at the front desk as he fell upon a stretcher of his own. After about an hour, the work of the medical ninja had been complete. He moved towards the front, still slightly injured to begin work. Masato had had somewhat of an epiphany that he would use as fuel for his resolve. Again, he would take off.
__Hikaru arrived first at the hospital. Per his profession he was quite used to the scene when he walked through the door. People coughing, bleeding, crying. None of these sights bothered him anymore. His parents were non-combatant doctors, people who helped the soldiers while not being sent to the front line. It’s one of the reasons Hikaru wanted to be a ninja; to assist on the battlefield as swiftly as off of it. As he noticed the waiting room, however, there were way more people here than on a typical day. He figured that he had some time before Tetsu arrived, so he wanted to assist.
First he started talking to people. Thankfully his headband allowed the villagers to instinctively trust him. He asked routine questions; eating and sleeping habits, as well as any previous medical history. Once he got answers, he started working more intently.
Now that he had some knowledge, Hikaru used the diagnosis technique. Thanks to his questions, the boy was able to narrow down further what he should be looking for. Most people just had standard colds, although one did had the flu. The few more severe cases he would have to get more crafty.
The people who could be helped with medication and time Hikaru helped first. Even in a world of ninjas, it’s imperative to allow a body to heal on its own. It’s only through fighting off infections that the body can create its own immunities. Once he finished on those people, he worked on the harder cases.
No one needed help beyond some basic healing hands. Hikaru applied the technique on four people in total. Each one was gently soothed with chakra until their symptoms dissapated. Once they were better, Hikaru gave them follow up medication to further escalate the healing. Once he got the waiting room to only half fully he took a break.
As Hikaru was wrapping up his work on the patients, Bast walked into the lobby area with a few medical personnel. They immediately seemed different from the typical staff, as they were wearing field gear and carrying a sizable amount of equipment. One of them had a white bag with a prescription label on it and was whispering hurriedly to Bast before the woman spotted her student. With an unsettling seriousness, she waved the boy over.
"There's been a complication," she told him, her voice slightly hushed to keep her words away from the crowd in the lobby as a whole. "I don't want to say too much before the others arrive, but are you familiar with small-scale medical quarantine procedures?"
__Hikaru was aware of a problem well before Bastet arrived. He scanned the personnel and was able to deduce with haste what purpose they had. Things started to make sense. The reason why there were so many people in the doctor's office wasn't because there was a recent outbreak, but because the doctors on hand were being tasked with a separate problem. Judging by the question asked, his eyes widened briefly for the seriousness of the question. They then narrowed as he nodded. "If it's airborne, then please make sure the others stay back." He said, referring to Tetsuhiko and Zhi. The bonding time together allowed him to understand that the two did not have any medical expertise. With a bit of on the scene training he could make his body resistant or downright immune to most viruses and diseases. However, because of his limited knowledge in the field, he had no way to be able to deduce how to protect the others. In short, his request was aimed much more at protecting his teammates than trying to take charge of the situation.
__ Tetsuhiko finally arrived at the hospital in order to catch up with his teammate. He thought that the paperboy would be good at being, well, a paperboy and delivering the mail. He did his job sufficiently, but there was no question that Tetsuhiko truly did the best. Before he entered Penthesilia disappeared in a puff of smoke. Once he stepped in the doors flung open dramatically as he flipped his hair and revealed himself. He saw Bastet-sensei and Hikaru-kun standing in the lobby talking. "Probably just mission specs." He flipped his hair and stared at them for a moment before moseying on over to a bundle of roses. The roses came with a heart shaped card that said "Get well soon!" and Tetsuhiko shrugged. He then took one of the roses for himself and sniffed it. He flipped his hair once more and gave a dramatically brooding stare to his teacher and colleague once more.
Tetsuhiko held the rose in his right hand as he sauntered to Bastet and Hikaru. "My dear Lady Bastet, it is your favorite student...Tetsu!" He spoke in the third person as he took a dramatic gulp of air before continuing. "I quite like that nickname,a rose by any other name smells just as sweet, no?" He flicked his hair again as he displayed the rose in his hand. "This is for you, sensei, to cement our friendship!" Tetsuhiko now offered the rose to her with a charming smile.

Bast glanced at the medics, who shook their heads. She'd been fairly certain that the pathogen wasn't airborne, but her certainty had wavered just a bit upon seeing Hikaru's earnest worry for his teammates.
"It's not that serious, fortunately," she reassured the lad. "You're not very likely to catch it just by proximity alone, but we won't be in direct contact with the afflicted anyway."
Then, as he was wont to do, Tetsuhiko burst in and Bast's lips hardened into a line. It was times like this she wished she knew the Mouth Seal off hand, but she settled for a cold rebuke instead:
"That flower is for someone who's suffering and I'll thank you not to prance about in the hospital, of all places," she spoke, her voice strained. "Put it back, Tetsuhiko. This is not the time nor place."

__ Zhi and her small swarm of clones would arrive at the hospital. SHOOT! She and her clones grumbled and pouted a little, "Darn! We're super duper late!" Zhi's exclamation rang throughout the lobby rather easily. She skipped over to Bastet, Tetsuhiko, and Hikaru to see what was going on. She saluted them playfully before greeting them, "Hiya team! Ready for the next job! Delivering medicine, was it?" Zhi's clones scattered around the room to just look around or keep themselves busy in general for the time being. Zhi quickly remembered to mention the two she'd drafted to help with these jobs, "Oh yeah! I brought Taylor and Horus to help with taking those pictures and stuff. He even helped with the mail too. What a guy!" She smiled, not even bothering to read the tension that was already present, as usual.
