Thanks to all for helping to clarify things for the new member! Let me take a moment to gather all the questions and add some clarifications to the answers given. Feel free to use this as the official answer until the Crew can rip this and turn it into an item in Applications and Info threads.

Healers: We officially have one approved magic healer. Dancer was approved with level 1 - Unaware of Power in Healing. She's been given permission to begin hinting in poses at the power for the characters to discover it ICly. We have some plots in the wings in which this power could be more clearly discovered and a power increase may be approved to level 2 - No Control of Power. Healers don't always need to be done magically. A skilled surgeon and herbalist can heal things as well as a magical Healer, though magical Healers have the added benefit of being having a chance at repairing otherwise irreparable wounds and reverse fatal and mortal damage. Llune has much of the details correct on the use of Healing magic in reproduction. Go-Backs are the main tribe that are able to breed without Recognition and females have a chance to do so with any elf they encounter regardless of tribal ancestry. Wolfriders can also breed without Recognition, but it's rare at best and does not often produce strong childern. Recognition usually produces the strongest genetic combination for elves but is mirrored by seclusion. The longer an elf has been either without other elves to Recognize or among the same group of elves the higher the chances the elf has of Recognizing anyone they come in contact with. Think of it as their biological clock ticking a countdown and finally unable to wait any longer.

Magic Feeling: Dewpaw answered it well. The only thing to add is that someone with a magic and magic feeling has a better chance of recognizing that particular type of magic. For example, a rockshaper with Magic Feeling that comes across a shaped cave will be better able to state that it was a rock shpaer and approximately how long ago in comparision to either another elf with a different kind of magic or an elf with no magic.

Sun Folk Healers: The only known Healers in the Village were Leetah (magical) and her mother Toorah (non-magical). This game is set approximately 100-200 years after the end of Book 4: Quest's End. (No link online available). Feel free to work something in there. smile We love seeing the creativity of our players while still paying homage to to the original framework.
