konnichiwa! watashi wa dominiku desu!(my name is dominique) hajimemashite!(nice to meet you). i'm 13 years old and i'm haitian-american.(my parents were born in haiti) im in 7th grade npow and since around the end of sixth grade i got into my first real anime, inuyasha. i didnt know what anime was at the time and now i'm really behind in popular shows like naruto and old shows like ranma 1/2 hehe. i got more interested in japan after watching inuyasha and now i think im pretty good at singing in japanese. i'm good at pronunciation when singing it but im a little worse when talking it because i don't hear it much. also, the japanese i know is pretty basic and im trying to learn hiragana but ive been having trouble remembering the signs. in fact, all i recognize is こんにちわ. but i think i'm at a good start and i just need to study more often! well, i know my introduction was long so i hope it didn't bore you guys! XD

hello. I'm iikimmy or kim or anything you guys wish to call me. I am currently 14 years old and really into japanese. -.- but so far i dont know much of the language. Only a little bit. Anime and Manga are small sources i have to learn a bit about the Japanese culture. I love anything japanese. I even have my room based on things I know from Japan. sweatdrop I'm a tiny bit shy but sometimes hyper depending on the mood biggrin I hope to have a great time here sharing my interests with everyone!

Hi, all. I'm akiko x1, but please call me Aki. No, that is not my real name, but I'd prefer to be called that for I refuse to reveal my real name for privacy purposes. I'm 17 years old and I'm from the Philippines. I'm currently a college freshman and I have been interested in Japanese things since I was 2, when my aunt first taught me how to count from 1 to 10 in Nihongo.
My love for Japan came to be under the influence of anime. I was watching Card Captor Sakura, Inuyasha and Yu Yu Hakusho back in 2nd grade. Sadly, they were all dubbed in Filipino, but I didn't care back then. Around 4th or 5th grade, I practiced hiragana and katakana and managed to master them. I tried learning kanji as well as a few words during my highschool years, but currently I am not practicing anything. College life is tough. Just so you know, I have never taken any formal lessons, and everything I know now is the result of self-studying. I've managed to pick up a few characters, words, phrases and simple sentences from books, anime, manga, dramas, friends and even Mahjong tiles.
This has been a rather long post. Sorry for getting carried away. Anyway, thank you for having me here! Please be kind! :]

First of all before I introduce myself I would like to say thank you Koiyuki.
My name is Lichi. I love art and enjoy hanging out with good friends. I am glad that I was accepted to join. Like many of you here I am interested in completing my learning in Japanese, and that of Japan traditions and history. I hope to be able to travel there someday.

I'm Serenity, but IRL I'm fondly( or not) referred to as Tifa.
I'm a college sophmore. I'm an East Asian culture major, and I was originally taking Japanese at my old college with Yamamoto-sensei, but was forced to come back home for financial reasons. gonk
So now, I'm looking for somewhere to practice my sadly lacking skills and get to know others interested in Japanese culture.
Also, if anyone knows any good ideas on how to get a JCC (Japanese culture club, in case you were wondering sweatdrop ) started at a college, and any good ideas, could you let me know?

I'm RoseJailMaiden. I tried learning Japanese because of my huge love of anime, manga, and japanese bands. I've learned a lot of words, but I'm not sure about how to put a sentence together and particle words (ga, wa, wo, etc). If anyone could help, please do!
