I like cream cheese icing on carrot cake, and ONLY on carrot cake. It's unbalanced otherwise. The flavor is perfect for carrot cake, but doesn't work as well with other flavors. I prefer buttercream frosting or chocolate frosting on other types of cake.

I just don't like cream cheese because I think it should always stay cold when spread. So when I have a bagel and it's toasted and I have cream cheese on it... it just.. ugh. Looks so nasty...

I don't think I've seen cream cheese icing on any other type of cake than carrot cake, you might be right about the taste, I haven't thought about it before. Mm... chocolate cake 4laugh
