Chloe Lockheart Bakasensei Cross Chloe Lockheart Bakasensei Cross Chloe Lockheart Bakasensei Cross "It was, until..," Here came the hard part. He kept stroking her hand gently, taking a deep breath. He shook slightly, but he kept inhaling an exhaling to keep himself steady.
"I was forced to separate from her. She began to interfere with my work for the order. I got a notice from them, and I had to leave on the spot. Without a word to her, I vanished. It was easier that way. No sad goodbyes..." His eyes began to water slightly, but he swallowed back his tears, keeping them in.
"I regret now, not saying farewell. I only saw her once after that night. I was passing through the village and I spent a few days with her. She had a married, but he had passed away after only a few years. And she had a daughter, Anita. For those three days it was almost like things were the way they had been before. But they weren't, and never could be. So, I kept traveling. A month later, I got word that she had passed away from illness...."
He was shaking a little again, but they were small dry sobs. He squeezed Chloe's hand tighter in both of his.
Please don't let me go, Chloe...
"Cross....I'm so sorry....I'm sorry.." She whispers to him, while still hugging him. She pulls back slightly and leans in to give him a kiss on the cheek. Showing more of her support, trying her best to comfort him.
Maybe...if I just made a move...What do I have to lose? I've opened myself to her. There's no going back now.
He went on his impulse and wrapped both arms tightly around her body, and buried his face in her hair. He didn't want to lose this time. He was lucky to have met her. She was different, and this time he was going to hold on.
"Chloe..."
"Yes, Cross?" She whispers to him, wondering what he had to say. She felt comfortable right now, his arms around her made her feel safe and warm. She let out a small, almost unnoticed content sigh.
This is Fight or Flight...and I'm fighting for it. ((@Allen: Night Night. o3o ))
This time it will be different.
He kissed her for a bit longer before pulling back and putting his face in her hair once more, moving his hand from her neck. He reached behind his head and grabbed her wrist and pulled her hand into his chest. Stroking it lightly with his fingers, he spoke softly in her ear.
"Please stay with me, Chloe," There was the tiniest hint of a plea in his voice.
Please don't go away

She was so close to him, it was a repeat of everything he had just told her. He felt a special connection to Chloe, just like he had with Veronica. "Stay...with you...." She repeated, her voice slightly airy.
A million thoughts raced in her head, she was tempted, extremely tempted to stay with Cross...but...there was always that lingering feeling.
what about.. She shook her head lightly, getting rid of the thought in her head. He...h..he's not around here when I need him....Cross....was.... Her mind continued to reel.
