"I-I won't," he promised, fidgeting slightly and flopping his tail across his feet. The couch would be really nice for studying on once he got used to the place, but it was a shame about his five book limit. "I-I'll talk to you later."

"Yea, see ya in a few hours." He snapped his phone shut and went to see what Reno had been cursing about. Hopefully it would be something funny and he'd get amusement for a while.

Kaleb stuck his own phone in his pocket and fidgeted a bit before moving the rest of his books through the portal still standing near the front door. He didn't have any keys for Riley's apartment yet, but he didn't really need them since he could simply create a new portal to get outside. This time it took him right to the grocery store so he could pick up the items he needed for dinner, and the soft drink Riley had asked for.

He eventually found out that Reno was bitching because Rufus had made him go down to the labs and the scientists had made him help with one of the new creations. Reno wasn't rattled by much but the stuff down there always seemed to get to him.

It didn't take much time for Kaleb to find the right vegetables and Riley's drink, and he paid for the items and portalled back to the apartment to put things away. Then he glanced at the clock and brought over some food items from his own apartment, including his fruit, chocolate milk, frozen chocolate chip waffles, and some crackers he liked to munch on. Once that was done, he fidgeted a bit before turning up the volume on his radio and getting started on dinner.

At around six he got home and grinned as he smelt dinner down the hallway. Opening the door he kicked off his shoes and looked around for his partner. "Watcha make?"

Kaleb poked his head out from the kitchen, absolutely beaming now that Riley was back. "Stir fry," he chirped, setting a couple plates on the table, along with cutlery and empty glasses. He brought out the pan of stir fry and a pot of rice after that, and set them down so they would be able to help themselves. "I-I hope you like it, I made the sauce myself and found some chicken for you..."

"Mmm .... so ya found my soy sauce? or the terriakie?" He headed into the kitchen after he'd dropped his keys and phone. "Rice smells good too"

"I used a bit of soy sauce, but there's more in it than that. A-and I just used some onion in the rice." Once he was content everything was in order, he sat down with a tired sigh. Being nervous and moving things all day had left him a little tense and unsettled, but he could try to relax now that Riley was back.

He walked over and nuzzled Kaleb quickly before he sat down. "Thanks .. bet it will be even better than tha last thing ya made me"

Kaleb smiled and blushed at the compliment and affectionate gesture. "I-I hope so, i-it's more work than spaghetti." He reached over to take the lids off the pot and pan, and waited for Riley to take some before helping himself to his usual small portions. He mostly avoided the chunks of chicken in the stir fry, that was there for Riley to eat.

"Should eat more meat. It's good for ya." He piled his plate high with the stuff and took a bite. "Mmmm .." It was really good. He'd have to take some to work the next day for lunch.

"Maybe, but it makes my stomach hurt if I eat more than this." Kaleb said, poking his rice into the stir fry sauce with his fork before spearing some vegetables. He was pleased with how the meal turned out, and he was also glad to see Riley seemed to be enjoying it too.

"Someone could probably fix that ya know." Meat was good for them. The Scientists said something about what they were based on being carnivorous so they had to be built for eating lots of meat.
