I'd be concerned too Luna, and I do think you did the right thing by telling an employee. If the lady got pissed at you, that's too damn bad for her. She can explain to her daughter/son why their kids (her grandkids) were injured or killed if they got into an accident, because she didn't make them wear their seatbelts.

Well, what we all find acceptable is different. I'm not personally comfortable with older/extended BFing, but I don't deny anyone else their right to do it and try to be as accepting as I can.

Yeah in my personaly opinion seeing boobs is not a big deal, I in no way find nudity a taboo. But come on... there is a difference between BFing your 5 month old in public... and having your 5 YEAR old come up and bust out your boob. If she would have like put it away that is one thing, but you are in public and that is kind of rude. With an infant you're well covered, but what is that woman going to do when her 10 year old wants milk... lift her shirt?
I'm with you on this one... I do find that kinda disgusting...

OK, because of the new "rate thread" thing, I saw this topic and it completely disturbed me... http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17622913I'm not super-somber today, but to see such lack of respect for human life and for what happened 5 years ago...*shakes head* Really makes me kind of sad, actually. Just to see all the comments - all those kids trying to act like bigshots. I don't normally rant, but I don't know...

rolleyes Sadly, nothing surprises me anymore. People rag on Gen X for being so apathetic, but it's gone way beyond that with this newest batch of teenagers.
While I agree with him that I'm disgusted by people profiting off of 9/11--all the recent movies for example--I don't think it's quite time for people to 'just get over it,' either.

And definitely not time to snicker over something like someone falling from a building! I couldn't read past the first few pages - just made me angry, which rarely happens with me. I think because so many people were cheering him on and saying that they'd laugh too.

I don't think there was anything wrong with him geting detention for his behavior. If you find it THAT damn hard to contain yourself while OTHER people are watching something that may MEAN SOMETHING to them, then you deserve whatever punishment you get.
But, like Dirge, I REALLY (and I mean REALLY) dislike all the exploitation and profiteering that's being done off of this tragic event. I REFUSE to watch any of these movies about it nor buy any of this s**t-tastic "memorabelia" that's being pandered all over TV lately. I'm not bagging on anyone who does watch these movies or buys these items, but I personally won't.
It'd be one thing if all this money made off of these victims were going all to their families or to related charities, but knowing that so much of this exploitation money is just going to be lining movie producer's (and etc) pockets is just disgusting to me.
Let these people rest in peace. Have memorials and other such appropriate things, but leave the ******** sensationalism, hype, and capitalizing out of it... please. I'm sure these victim would want us all to move on and GROW from this experience, not continue to kick a dead horse with movies and junk 5 years later.

 Wow...that's so sad.
It doesn't stop being sad. People still talk about WWII. You still have to learn about Pearl Harbor.
However if I remember correctly many more people died because of 9/11. =/
It's sad that so many teenagers don't realize how horrible that sort of thing is. Especially since they hit the buildings when they felt they could take out as many people as possible.

This thread reminds me why I normally stay out of the Chatterbox.
I mean after all there must be a cut off age for belonging to Gaia...oh you know...30.
Nevermind the fact the guy who runs the place is in his 30s.
