I also play the oboe for two years... but I'm third chair probably because the two people in front of me are like... obsessed with the oboe they get one note wrong and then they cry about it literally, I'm glad I'm third chair but I'm not that bad.

I play the oboe in concert and I play the flute when I march, but I'm not in marching band. Mr. Macrina is just that mean. sweatdrop

♪ fer sure maybe... fer sure not...  I've been playing bassoon for 4 months now (I played clarinet before) ... yet I'm better then the person whos been playing for over a year in my band o.o soz I'm the 1st bassoon (the one with all the skyhigh abovethestaff stuff x.x) IT ROCKS! ... fer sure eh... fer sure bomb ♪

Avalon Arigi I play oboe just barely started I am the only one though! crying Don't worry, that's how I started out, and I'm in Pit now, and playing the English Horn as a frehsman to boot! Just keep it up, and taking private lessons will help A LOT!

During marching I played trumpet.
Yeah, weird, I know, but we just happened to have a trumpet at our house.

i play oboe. for marching i play oboe too, i just take the flute music down an octave. the parades make me sign my life away cuz if you trip while playing a double reed it will jam into your brain stem and kill you. i am also a drum major for my band. so go double reeds!

I'm thinking of switching to Oboe- as a flutist and former clarinet player, do you think the transition will be okay?

Bassoonist! Currently playing on a lovely Fox model 240 named Haru (...it's a long story)
I'm the only one in my high school, and slighly dissappointed because there would have been a second one, only she quit over the summer stare Anyway... I managed to make first chair Mass. Sr. District orchestra, and now I'm slaving away at the All-State piece. I got a fancy recorder for Christmas, so now I can listen to myself screw up in high-quality sound! biggrin

Sadly I too am the only bassoon in our school. So, I play that during concert season and flute during marching band. I started the bassoon a little under two years ago, and I gave up the chance to be first flute in our concert band to be the lonely bassoon T.T But bassoon is so much better than flute 3nodding
