[Memory 2 - Defensive]*** hopped backwards when Marcus came slashing at him. The other seemed to be in a bit of a rage. *** definitely wasn't happy but he wasn't as angry as the other seemed to be. This helped his mood quite a bit. He was a little amused!
"Oh now..there you go. That's the stellar verbal skills I was expecting." *** shoved Marcus away from him when his slash missed, and sprinted to the side before the other could regroup. He drew another arrow.
"You don't seem to get it! I don't care about you and Cass. I just know if I had a little sister and some guy acted like you, I wouldn't want her to date him. And you are really demonstrating your class right now!"
He paused just a moment to fire again but apparently he was more interested in yelling at Marcus than he was hitting him. Probably a bad idea.
"Cass and I are neighbors. We are friends. Get over your ego about having a girlfriend. No one is jealous, no one gives two shits and maybe when people don't like YOU it's because YOU are the douche!"

[ Defensive Memory ]
The Kitsune's illusions were melting away, showing the room for what it really was; a thin piece of glass over a pit of broiling lava. It was something out of her worst nightmare, and yet she did not succumb to it, for perhaps the first time in her short life. Instead she had put all of her focus on the issue at hand, namely those Reapers who called themselves Hunters, and the fact they were attacking for no reason.
"--Remi, look out!" *** yelled, watching in horror as one of the Hunters raised their weapon. She did the first thing that came to mind; she put herself between her friend and their enemy. It went straight through her chest, shattering her new sternum and tearing through her heart, but at least, for now, Remi was safe behind her, and free to move out of harm's way.
That was all she ever wanted.

"Do you have any idea what you've just done? Any idea at all what it's going to take to reschedule another gathering like that? They might not even give us another chance, ***. What were you thinking?"
What were you thinking? That was always the question her mother asked when she did something that the elder harpy did not approve of. *** did not know why when the obvious answer was that she had not been thinking.
If she had she might have done things differently. If she had she might not have done anything at all. "M'sorry, mother..." She muttered softly.
"No, you aren't. Not properly so, at least... But you will be."

"Are you excited?"
"Yes, I get to go away for a while and experience the other lairs. ... Or any layer really, I've never been to one!" They both shared a laugh, despite the somewhat sheepish smile on ***'s face at that admittance. There was a pause of quiet, before the priestess spoke up. "Still, I'm worried. Will you two be okay here?"
"***, don't worry so much. It's not like anything happened to you when I left, right?" When she found herself nodding, her brother grinned. "Exactly! We'll miss you, though." When he opened his arms, *** buried herself into the ashen soldier's hug.
"I'll miss you too. I promise to send things, though! The humans keep such odd things, I think."
They shared a laugh.

Memory 5/5 - Proud "You've grown so much while you were at school pumpkin…you look beautiful, I'm so proud."
It was her mothers voice, and the pride was evident, and it was all Sin had ever wanted, but now that she had it she realized there was something more important, equally important. Inside she felt proud of herself, because she was finally willing to stand up to her parents and let her desires be known. She had defied her mothers wishes and she was going back where she belonged wether they liked it or not, she was going back to Amityville.
She gazed into the mirror her reflection stared back with eyes full of questions, but her posture was the embodiment of a proper demon, she was growing, she was beautiful, she was proud of herself…but pride often goeth before the fall. She frowned slightly and realized there was still so much to understand.

[Reproachful Memory]
It wasn't fresh and she was frowning.
"I don't want it."
She stared at the plate and her ears drooped. It was a waste of a good meal.
"Please don't make me." She said again, looking at the chef unhappily.
Cooked only to be wasted, she unhappily pushed it away from her and sat in silence. It might have been the first time she'd rather be hungry than eat.

"And this," the voice continued. Each word shook his chest, reminding him how much of a small fry he was in comparison. "Is why we are unchallenged within the fathoms."
"Oh? Then we're we Lost?" He asked with genuine curiosity, yelping as the elder wrapped a long tentacle around him and shook him.
"You're never Lost when you've been Found! Glow with pride, m'boy. One day, it'll be you shaking some sense into another newly Risen."

Hindsight's always 20/20....
Theia sighed. Least. She thought she did. Her Heart was gone. Ripped from her body by her own hands. That wasn't such a smart move. All for... knowledge? Well. She certainly was learning something.
Bit by bit, Theia felt herself becoming... not her. Bit by bit, she unraveled. Was unmade. One moment she was pain, then she was numb. Then she was without sight. No sound. No nothing. Just a thought process that didn't want to give up. Too jittery. Too excited. Too scared. Really, she wanted to fight. Really, really fight. Stone cold and thorny and ripping and shredding and always stone. Bits of green flickered through the black, and Theia watched them in amusement. Maybe she should have gone Destruction?
Nah.
Knowledge was power. She just had to figure out how to use it. Maybe she could only really learn once there was nothing left to her to contemplate it? Unmake her, and she couldn't keep fighting it. So if she relaxed, it'd go faster.. right? Theia tried that. Let herself stop fighting. Her smile was pretty genuine in that last moment of her awareness.

She met his eyes, aware that her back was to the wall and that he was, once again, very close. The need to defend herself, her pride, turned and rolled into something akin to anger, pushing down the feelings of fear and shame that did not wish to feed it.
"I know what we are," she said it quietly, almost whispered it. She held his gaze. "I know what we give up. I walked away from could have been a good, simple life. I didn't come looking for fairy tales. And I didn't come here looking for a lecture." She placed her hand against his chest and pushed. It was a slow deliberate push, telling him to get out of her way.
"But that is all you had to say. 'Go away, ******.'" She took two steps toward the door, her hand ending it's contact with him. She hesitated almost turning to say something, but then she thought better of it, and let herself out.

"Don't forget the lipstick," *** reminded Runt as he clumsily applied an obscene amount of blush on the face of the man lying passed out on his couch.
"Weiss is gonna be so pissed when he wakes up," Runt said, barely stifling a laugh.
"Law of the land, man. You fall asleep first, you're fair game."

[ Side Blessing Defensive ]
Naiad was yelling at her father. The man had dared told her that she was lying, and she knew for once that she wasn't! She knew that this time she had not been messing around with the were from the lower area. However, just because the neighbor boy was mad at her, he told her father that she had been seen cuddling with the were boy. But for once she had not been anywhere near that boy. She had still felt bad about the lecture from Aunt Marina and she had not wanted to upset anyone so had been staying around the house. Still her father grounded her for her sass and lying! It was wrong, and he should have know she had not shamed their family by acting un-demon like this time! Sure she had in the past due to her habit, but not this time! She was just trying to get him to see this but he was not buying her 'excuses'. With tears in her eyes she ran away from the tall house and her father, into the back yard, still knowing that she had been in the right. Even if she had seemed defensive it had been in the defense of her honesty not of her shame of what she had done!

Celine is curiously picks at his feathers similarly to what Peppino has done several time before. "Pff, Friends Teo? Those friends of yers is back at yer papa's house!" Marvin is just grinning like a dofus when *** looks utterly confuse. "I am a boilfriend for many moons."
Matteo opens his mouth to respond, but instead he ends up staring blankly at ***, his face growing even redder. Peppino's laughter gets increasingly hysterical as Francesco claps his hands. "Oh! Buona fortuna! Matteo, he has never... " gestures, as if trying to physically grasp the words "Never... "his eyes widen, and he whirls on Matteo "Never -tell- us!" and then he launches into a stream of Italian.
Marvin Looks proud of his son as he moves to clap *** roughly on the back. "Someone actually finds our son attractive enough to date!"

[main memory 1]
Brooding in his spot was boring, and he was feeling mostly over it. And he saw opportunity, especially when he heard the fox get asked if the ghoul was his lady friend. But first he had a matter to attend to, he never did like the ghoul. “Leave her alone she’s just doing the class.” His own cloths might have a bit of soot on them, but he decided to make everything worst.
He then turned to the ice demon, “Oh yeah, she’s his ghoul friend. I saw them kissing at the kissing booth.” Yes he was bringing that back up. He flashed them a winning smile and then backed up.
"Don't. Stretch. Facts." the fox hissed at him. He expected as much but what came next was more surprising.
His grin widened at the reaction until suddenly the mop was coming in his direction. He put his hands up in defense as he backed up. One solid hit of what was a… less than dry mop, got on his arm and he freaked. “Ewe ewe ewe!” a small burst of flame came from his arm as he tried to clean himself of the mop dirt.
And then a something came flying his direction. He threw a flaming hand out and managed to stop it from hitting his face. Unforchantly the shirt was now on fire and dropped to the ground burning.
Panic mode engaged, he decided it was time to hightail it out of there. He turned and launched himself into the air giving himself a few feet up before finding something high to land on, his spot turned out to be a tree branch. He moped and set his arms on fire just long enough to give himself a quick fire bath before staring down at the group, pouting. He had only meant to poke a little fun at them. They didn’t have to throw things at him. He sat down in his new spot and curled up there, generally unhappy but hopefully safe from further assault.

The flower shop was bustling today, most scrambling to get something for Fourth of July. She could only keep her mother for a short time, and even then she was distracted; but *** cherished those few moments nevertheless. She seemed more alive here than at home.
"Should I get him a special kind of flower?" she asked, and Mami turned thoughtful.
"Special? What 'special'?" Her eyes are already following a woman who was ghosting through the shelves at a speed she didn't think was possible. Nervous. *** takes the opportunity to try and rephrase her words.
"He's, um . . . myboyfriendorsomething."
Success. Mami understood the word and gave her a quick, if surprised look, and moved past her.
"I'll think of something later, after you tell me about him."
Still a success. *** knew she wouldn't remember after the fact, and once an idea was in the head, she could get comfortable with it. Much as *** was still adjusting to the idea herself.
