Constance had placed her hand in Merrick's as he stepped from the elevator and she followed after him. Her fingers laced with his. She just looked at Hobbs and smiled when he mentioned the other girl who would be happy to see Merrick. It didn't bother her because she already knew that Merrick was all hers. They had said as much to each other, especially when he had called her his mate. If he had female friends that was fine by her. She didn't have many friends, but a few of them were male and she knew that Merrick would be okay with that. The Autumn Feast; it had been too long since she had been to one. Cassandra grinned a little as she thought about it. She wondered how many she would see there, and if they would remember her. After all it had been a while since she had been there. "This will be fun," Cassandra said softly to Lorcan. Carolyn laughed as they walked down the alley with everyone else. The atmosphere around them already seemed lighter. "Oh I would love to see the pain they will be in." She said to Kasumi. Amelia walked silently, listening to everyone talk. Nala walked just a bit ahead of her, sniffing everything before moving on.

Merrick tilted his head, getting the sense something was wrong. His hand shifted upward to the nodaichi hilt over his shoulder as his gaze scanned around cautiously.

Kasumi snickered. "That's the best thing about the sort of seals I use; they can be rigged for traps that fire everything from knives, to poison gas, or miniature explosives.. I've seen some that were half the size of my thumbnail," she said with a giggle.

Lorcán blinked, curious as to what Cassandra referred to.

Jess paused, frowning slightly as her eyes narrowed, scanning around. She shrugged slightly after a moment and kept going.

"I like how you work," Carolyn said with a chuckle as her eyes continued to dart around. She would always be on the lookout until this whole thing was over. Cassandra just smiled as she slipped her hand into Lorcan's. The way she remembered the Abbey..it was amazing. She could only hope that everyone else thought the same. She knew that aside from herself, only Merrick had been there before. Merida walked quietly with everyone, wondering where exactly this place was. And also how it managed to keep the demons out. It would be nice to not have to worry about them for a little while so the could get some training done.

Merrick paused, unconsciously shifting so he stood at an angle to make sure that he could protect their rear as Jess unlocked the passage to the gateway. He knew from experience that the only way to find it was to be led there by a native of that place and that the seal reset itself upon the passage closing.

Kasumi tilted her head, her hands lightly resting on the hilts of Benihime and Ōshihime, her dual Zanpakutō. She stood a couple of feet away from Jess and to her left behind her.

Lorcán lightly held onto the scythe hilt as he let it go from the loop, letting the bladed weight hang loosely.

Jess tilted her head as she stopped near a bricked over archway. The seal was one that the ancient Shinto immortals Amaterasu-ōmikami and Sarutahiko Ōkami designed with their powers and it took two hands to unlock.
"It'll take her a few minutes to unlock the doorway leading to the gate," Hobbs said, managing to heft a club that was easily three and a half feet long and half a foot thick. He knew the seal released using the elemental flows of Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Lightning, Darkness, Light, Ice, Wood, and Metal.

Constance stood near Merrick, also watching their rear. If the demons were going to attack, now would have been the perfect time. Her eyes darted around as she spread out her senses. So far so good. Hopefully Jess would get the doorway open soon and they would be at the abbey, safe. Even if it was only for a little while. Cassandra slowly reached up and took the bow from her back as well as an arrow. She might as well be ready just in case something happened. With the way their lives had been going recently she was surprised they had managed to get through the alley unmolested. Merida leaned slightly against a wall, flames circling around her right hand. This was one thing she was definitely good at. The demons were gonna get a face full of fire if they showed up. Amelia's head tilted to the side as she waited.

Alede OOC- The first five kanji are on her left hand, while the other five are on her right hand. Merrick shifted his thumb lightly, freeing roughly a third of an inch of steel above the habaki directly above the tsuba crossguard. His eyes never stopped scanning around for any and all demons if they were to show themselves it would be now.

Kasumi tilted her head fractionally, hearing the groan of solid stone moving slowly but steadily.

Lorcán blinked as he noticed the extreme complexity of the seal that lit up before fading. He knew he could have studied that seal for months, if not years, and not be able to figure it out.

Jess took a deep breath as she felt her arms and hands warm from the energy she was channeling through her body. Kanji [ 火, 水, 風, 土, 雨, 門, 光, 水, 木, 金] ignited on each of her fingertips, running from thumb to pinky in order. She then slammed her fingertips into the stone, the kanji igniting several concentric rings of kanji and various seals before they faded away, the stone groaning as it opened to either side. She knew the actual portal was roughly a hundred yards inside.

Constance glanced over at Jess, watching the complexity of opening gate. So far things had gone good. She held her breath for a moment and then let it out, calming her nerves. She knew that if any demon showed up it wasn't going to be a very good day for the demon. She was getting sick and tired of them. Cassandra saw Lorcan's facial expression and she chuckled softly. The seal that hid the abbey was very confusing. Only someone who knew how it worked could get it open. "Complex, isn't it?" She said softly to him. "Only a select few know how to open it."Merida looked to the door that was opening for them. That was definitely and interesting way to get through. "Well I guess it's time to get a move on."

Merrick tilted his head as his gaze flickered around warily. "There are times when being cautious saves lives," he muttered as he let the nodaichi slide back into the sheath with a soft click.

Kasumi tilted his head as she walked quickly, walking into the torch lit passageway. She found it remarkably interesting.

Lorcán tilted his head. "Very impressive. I'm sure it would take years, if not decades, to figure out the entire thing... even then I doubt they would be able to figure out the seal completely," he said thoughtfully.

Jess smiled faintly as she walked into the passage, not all that surprised when Kasumi and Kat darted into it quickly. She tilted her head as Hobbs walked into the passageway, not seeming bothered by the dim lighting at all.

"Yeah, it would take a very long time." Cassandra said with a nod as she walked with Lorcan into the passageway. She was glad they were able to get in without incident. Now they could all pretty much relax and enjoy some down time before training began. "Being cautious is good," Constance agreed with a nod as she looked over at Merrick with a smile upon her face. "It keeps us safe." She touched his arm lightly. "Come on let's go before they leave us behind.""Alright, come on you two lovebirds," Merida teased Merrick and Constance. She stood by the doorway, watching them. She crossed her arms over her chest.

Merrick tilted his head as he shrugged, walking into the torch lit passageway. "It brings back memories," he said quietly. He hadn't forgotten stumbling upon a hidden passage that had actually come out not far from the Abbey in the wide stream.

Kasumi paused by what appeared to be an archway with a shimmering curtain of water, cocking her head thoughtfully.

Lorcán shrugged. "It's remarkably impressive how complex magic is even to those of us who grew up with it around us," he said with amusement.

Jess grinned at Kasumi's confused look.

"I am glad we are able to share this one," Constance said as she looked around when they entered the passageway. She slowed down when she saw the archway that Kasumi had stopped in front of. Her head tilted to the side. "It is," Cassandra agreed with a nod. "It goes to show that no matter how old we are, no matter how much we have seen, there is always more out there." She looked up at him with a grin on her face.
"So very true," Amelia said with a smile as she passed right by Cassandra and Lorcan. She had heard what they were saying to each other.

Merrick grinned. "Trust me, when it comes to memories... the ones you make at the Abbey are almost always pleasant," he said with amusement.

Kasumi shifted subtly, frowning momentarily when she heard a boom in the distance as the outer doors shut and the seal reset.

Lorcán tilted his head, a faint half smile flashing over his face.

Jess shrugged. "The passage leads to a small grove of trees a few hours away from the Abbey, which I can assure you will be both memorable and obvious," she said with amusement as Hobbs silently slid through the gateway, making it ripple iridescently before settling again.

"Hmm, I look forward to it," Constance said with a smile at Merrick. She nodded her head in Jess direction. "Now how about we continue following her to this place?" She held her hand out to Merrick. Merida perked up as Hobbs slid through the gateway and it rippled before settling back down. She grinned at the others. "Well let's get going then." She was actually excited about seeing this place. She bobbed her head a little as she followed after Hobbs. Cassandra chuckled as she watched Merida. "Well somebody is excited."

Alede OOC- I think you can figure out the subtle video game reference in Lorcán's part. Merrick chuckled as he walked towards the gateway, noticing Jess shifted to her natural form. "I think it'll amuse you, considering it's a subtle idea compared to what we've done," he said with amusement. He chuckled softly as he slid through the gateway, letting his fingers intertwine with Constance's before sliding free. He inhaled deeply, listening to the soft rushing of the river nearby as he chuckled, sliding low to the ground as he slid from the bushes soundlessly.

Kasumi chuckled. "It isn't everyday we get invited to visit a place few get to go to. I do notice that Merrick seems remarkably calm about this... so he likely expected or at least suspected it was here," she said thoughtfully. She didn't look surprised in the least at Jess' true reddish bronze furred form.

Lorcán tilted her head as he walked through the gateway, though he blinked when he saw Jess' natural form as an anthropomorphic squirrel woman before he felt a cool ripple tingle across his skin before he had to shield his eyes with his hand to be able to see in the early morning sunlight. He was somewhat surprised that they'd gone from late afternoon-early evening back to early morning. The next thing he noticed was how clean and fresh the air was as he shifted the bushes aside to see Hobbs' natural form as a large anthropomorphic male hedgehog, though he was pleased to know that the Japanese ideal of an 'animated' hedgehog was unrealistic.

Jess laughed at Lorcan's double take before he went through the gateway. Hobbs noted with interest when Merrick came through that he moved with little sound, coming up just behind Lorcan. Seems all of Jess' lessons rubbed off on him when he was younger, he thought with a grin.

Constance chuckled softly at Merrick's words as she shook her head. Silently she followed after him and when she appeared on the other side she looked around with a smile on her face. "It's beautiful here," she said as her gaze finally settled on Merrick. She did a double take when she saw Hobb's and Jess' true form. Cassandra followed after Lorcan, taking a deep breath when they appeared on the other side. Oh yeah, it was still beautiful here. She, of course wasn't surprised at Jess' and Hobb's appearance. She went to Lorcan's side, linking her arm with his as she looked around. "It's always so peaceful here."Amelia's hand rested on Nala's head as they took in the sight together. It was one one the most beautiful ones she had seen through her familiar's eyes since she lost her sight. Merida whistled softly as she looked around. She hadn't imagined that it would look like this here. It was nice, peaceful. Something their world wasn't at the moment. "Nice," Carolyn said softly as she nodded her head.
