C.J. looked around. "I'd think this calls more than just us notifying them, Mx' . . . we gotta get proof this is goin' down tomorrow." he said with a sigh . . . pacing back and forth before sitting down in a chair. "We'd better rest easy t'night, y'all. Looks like we're gonna have us a li'l ol' showdown in Gotham, and WE'RE the first line of defense!" C.J. growled. He then paused . . . "Or so we make 'em THINK we're the first line of defense." he said, a thought brewing.

Misty sighed deeply and crossed her arms as she stood near the doorway. Well this was wonderful. At least she was here and not passed out in one of the bedrooms at the cave. Still....as far as she knew, that's where Alex would be at.

C.J. smiled sheepishly for a minute and put his arm around Misty. "Sorry, hon . . . " he said . . . damn, were they EVER going to catch a break?!?

"My my . . . this ALWAYS happens when we come here. Why don't we go to Perth-Amboy next year?" Mr. Walcott asked as C.J. held Misty.
"'Cause Gotham could use a few NOT-murderous clowns running amok, I guess." C.J. said.
"Well, it's helping more than doing stuff to REALLY make things worse!"

C.J. sensed that Misty was getting upset with the talk. "Well, we got 24 hours, let's take 5 and we'll get a plan together beforehand. After all, how long is it for a few heroes to think up a plan to save a town?!" he asked as he held on to Misty. Of course, he could get her situated in their room, but he didn't want to get THAT far on the first date!!
"More than first for us, remember? Halloween? Christmas?"

"Sounds good. I'll have to see about putting together a new costume or something." Misty replied, then paused for a moment. "If I can be much help that is." With the news she had gotten today, she wasn't sure how much fighting she'd actually be able to do.

C.J. paused in thinking and then put an arm around her. "We should be okay. Don't want you to get in over your head . . . or them for that matter, babes." he said and held her close. He did however, look up at Mxyzptlk.
"Wait, I just realized something. My best friend's girlfriend's CAT can break the fourth wall . . . I really wonder if his writer clued him in yet . . ." C.J. said, half thinking, half speaking as Mr. Walcott looked around.
"Next year, we're going to go to Fre- HIC!! uh, Jer- HIC!!! Oh CONFOUND these BLASTED Hi- HICGUP!!! Hiccups! We're gonna go somewhere else next year. This is just too strange . . . and this coming from a guy who runs a CIRCUS!" Mr. Walcott explained.

Misty sighed quietly and rested her head on CJ's shoulder for a moment. Right...if she had another episode like she had back at the Manor, then she'd probably only make things worse for the others. She hated feeling useless, but what could she do?

"This time?! You thought I could handle LAST time?!? I KNOW s**t's gonna be rough when even MXYZPTLK and I are having to team up. We got a circus, my preggo Spider-lady girlfriend, a fifth-dimensional imp who looks like a BOWLING PIN, a Gotham Bird, A crazy-a** gunman and whatever the hell Dundee is and we gotta face an ARMY?!? ARE YOU FREAKIN' NUTS?!?"

You're forgetting something very important, though: The future Batmom is currently at the Manor. Sure, she doesn't know what'll happen but SHE'S A FRIGGIN' BAT!
And hey, what'm I, a Goomba? I mean sure I might not be any good in a fight, but I'm good luck incarnate, right? The problem is getting me outta the Watchtower... Hmmm.....
I don't think that'll happen soon. There is a possibility, however small, that if you're at the Manor when it's invaded, they'll capture you. Do you want that?
