Gouki nodded as Cho explained. If she was right then Gouki was not sure how he would protect Mara if that man decided to attack her next time. If he really was not as bad as he seemed then what is to say he gets worse next time. It was not unheard that those affected by the darkness became more save then ever.
Gouki kissed Mara's forehead as he stroked her hair. He decided he would do anything it took to protect Mara and he was not about to squelch on that belief. "Where would we go to look for answers on how to protect ourselves? I don't want to just stand around here waiting for the next time."

Mara looked up at Gouki, she was worried about him. "Gouki, are you sure you're alright?" She asked stroking his hand gently. His hand on her head felt not only nice but also protective, reassuring. She loved it, she loved him, she wanted him safe.
"Perhaps in this market below us. There may be something there, or we could go in search of something more reliable but it may take more time. There is a sorcerer who is well known for his magics. He may be able to make up something for us, but probably for a price." Cho said searching her mind for a solution.

"I don't carry much money save for what little I make traveling with Mara. She is the world to me and I will do anything to protect her." Gouki said boldly. He squeezed Mara protectively. "Show me who this person is and I will do my best to get the help we need."
"I am fine Mara. Don't worry about me. I just want to protect you as best as I can." Gouki said to her continuing to stroke her hair. "You worry to much."

Mara's lip quivered ever slightly. She knew he meant it. She knew that he cared for her in just that way. She wished that she could do more for him, to help him. Perhaps if she was older then she could keep out of trouble and keep him safe too. She wished that there was something that she, a child, could do.
Cho nodded, "It may take some time to get there." She said drawing out a map. "We are here in this town." She said pointing to the spot they all were. "And this is where the tower he lives in is." tracing with her finger Cho moved south of their current position and motioned down a long road to a forest. Gently scribbled into the paper was a faint outline of a tower. "I heard about it long ago. This is where the man lives. Unfortunately this is a 3 day trip at least." Cho said standing. "And that is three days with no resting. Are you still willing to make the trip?"

Gouki nodded as he picked Mara up in his arms and moved over to Cho. We have no where to go in particular and the farther away we get from this place the better I feel. Who knows when that man will return." Gouki said as he looked at the map. "The question is will you and the others come with us to the tower? I don't want to separate after finally meeting you and the others Cho."

"I will be with Cho." Kyoji said. "I swore to protect, and besides that, a bond has formed that I could never turn my back on." He said, standing up beside Cho and smiling at her affectionately. There was something else at the back of his mind that he wanted to share with her, but that was for another time, another place. A placed a hand on her shoulder comfortingly. "I will be staying by Cho's side." He said looking into her eyes.

Cho's eyes glistened with tears. She looked over at Kyoji and smiled sweetly at him. She placed one of her hands over his, and found his free hand with her other. She squeezed his hand gently and felt her heart racing. "Thank you Kyoji." She said softly.
Cho nodded, "In that case I think that we will come along." She said. "It would be in our better favor if we all could get something to protect us from him." She knew what he was after, and the only way that she could keep her family safe was by some sort of protection. Especially for Kyoji who was carrying what the attacker wanted.
Ayaka stood up and walked over to her mother and Kyoji. She squeezed in between the two of them. "So we're leaving again?" She asked in a softer than usual voice. After the recent attack she was quite scared. Though the feeling of her mother's hand petting her white head she felt better.
Mara hugged her big brother and watched the others in the room as they made their decision. Being so young it was hard to fully comprehend what was going on. It looked like they would be traveling again sometime soon though.

Gouki was used to making hard decisions and he was glad to hear the group was going to stay together in the end. Although he didn't want to separate if it meant protecting his sister he would do it. Gouki smiled warmly at the others and nodded. "I don't know about the young ones but if we have to I will carry Mara as far as I can so we can get there as soon as possible."

"Ayaka is good at walking, though she does exhaust herself. But I can carry her." Cho said patting her daughter's head. "And with Emi, ah, Mara being taken care of then she is in good hands as well." Cho smiled warmly at Gouki and her daughter in his arms. They looked like siblings. He was so protective of her. She was so thankful he had found her and taken her. She was in good hands. "Thank you Gouki, I appreciate the care you have given Mara." Cho was beginning to get use to the name Mara, it seemed that it was a name that belonged to her, much more than Emi. Her birth name was not her name any longer and she could accept that.
"But Gouki, if we are going on another adventure I don't want to tire you out." Mara complained unhappily. "I can walk on my own, I don't want you to get tired because you're carrying me. You've always said it was not good to get tired on the road."

"And if you get tired." Kyoji said to Cho, "then I would be able to carry Ayaka, if she would be willing." He said with a smile. Cho had been acting very strong, esepcially in Kyoji's eyes, given that one of her children had forgotten her. He couldn't pretend to imagine what some of the things going on in Cho's mind with the situation, but wished he could relay to her if she wanted to share them or even just release any grief she might, that he would be there for her to do it with.

Cho nodded mouthing another, "Thank you." In his direction. She rubbed his hand gently with her thumb and continued to stroke Ayaka's hair.
Ayaka smiled up at Kyoji and nodded, "I don't have a problem with you or mama carrying me if I get tired." She said wrapping an arm around her mother's and Kyoji's leg. She loved her mama, but she was beginning to feel very attacked to Kyoji. From the looks the two of them were tossing between each other she hoped that something was happening to bring them all closer.

Gouki smiled at Mara and tossed her up catching her and placing her back on her feet. "You see little sis I am not only older but I am a guy so I got a lot of strength. Of course you got a lot of energy but you still have a few years before you can travel that far on your feet." Gouki said giving Mara a light hearted pat on her head. "You are more then welcomed to walk as long as you want though. Is that a deal?"

Mara laughed and giggled as Gouki tossed her into the air, receiving a worried gasp from Cho, and caught her again. In the same movement she found herself on her feet again. Laughing some more she managed to nod in agreement to Gouki's proposition. "Okay Gouki-chan." She agreed, "I will walk as far as I can so I won't tire you out."

Gouki smiled and nodded as he messed his sister's hair up playfully. "If we stay here much longer we are in possible danger but it will already be a long travel. After that attack we are a bit tense and some of us more then others might be tired. Will we leave soon or chance a small break to recover a little strength?" he asked the others. If it was just him and Mara he would pack up now and go to this person as fast as possible but their crew is bigger now and someone even younger then Mara is among them. He needed the imput of the others first.

Mara nodded in understanding. "Well Gouki, I wish you would rest so that you are in prime health for our adventure. I think it would be good for you Gouki." She took his hand in hers and walked over towards the bed for him to lay on while he rested.
Cho nodded, "Just a brief rest if we could." She said smiling. She was still working on gaining back her circulation from the attack. She smiled down at her daughter ad stroked her long hair. She also smiled at Kyoji, "Would you like a bit of time for a rest Kyoji?" She asked feeding her fingers though his.
