Getting up from her seat Lin should have realied that Tinuviel had her own study. She wondered what it was like in there.

"No, I don't think I have, normally when it's just me, I head to your Ninako's office instead to say hi."

Tinuviel nodded as she rose from her feet. "That's understandable," she smiled, "don't worry about it. Actually, very few people come to my study - and I prefer it that way. It means that I don't have to wonder where my papers are, or why things aren't where I leave them ... not that you would be the type to mess around or anything, but some people can't resist touching. Uncle Mikhail, for one."

She laughed softly. "Still, I love it when he visits. He always has such wonderful stories."

Lin giggled, she hadn't seen Mikhail since Elnara and Lore's wedding, but when she had spent time with him he did have a lot of fun stories. Though she couldn't imagine him looking through Tinuviel's study.

"He does," Lin murmured, "I remembering hearing a few stories from him from the wedding."

She followed Tinuviel out of the dining hall.

"I think out of everyone in the family," Tinuviel mused, "he does the most traveling ... perhaps we could send him a letter and ask him to accompany us ... I don't know if his work would allow him to do so, but ... there is always the possibility ..."

They passed Atalya's study (the door was closed, and Tinuviel was certain that her great-grandmother must already be hard at work) and continued down the corridor.

Meanwhile, Lore and Elnara were just arriving at the first level of the city. Elnara looked around in wonder at everything - it seemed that so little had changed since the last time she had been there, and she knew it had been at least ten years in their time.

"It's amazing," she murmured, reaching for Lore's hand. "Sometimes it's as if I never left ..."

Probably one of the advantages of immortals: they didn't see a need for change when something was working fine. Gaians, she found, were constantly trying to improve, and in so doing were damaging the very world in which they lived.

"That would be wonderful if he could," Lin replied, excited at the idea, also it was one more person Tinuviel could be around that would be close to her.

After all there was no way Lin was going to suggest this, only to have it ruined by stupid lords. Tinuviel was going to enjoy this trip, it wasn't going to be a complete chore.

Passing Atalya's study, Lin wondered what the Queen was doing now... probably something to do with papers and documents she thought.

"It is...." Lore murmured in agreement.

He was use to change, of course since most people in Gaia were mortals (though with Lore's newly aquired family it was hard to tell), he couldn't imagine things staying the same.

"Where would you like to go first?"

"Perhaps we could stop at Elurin Designs?" Elnara suggested. "It's been a long time since we've seen Aranhil, and I would love to introduce the children to him."

And really he was the only person in the entire city (besides her family) that she would call a friend - despite the fact that she had once dated him, her feelings for him had never been quite that strong. She had liked him, yes, very much ... but looking back on it her feelings had never been even close to what she felt for Lore. Still, she was happy and proud to call him one of her dearest friends.

"And of course, there's Grandmother and Grandfather," she added with a sly grin.

"Of course," Lore laughed at that, "But Elurin Designs first."

He looked down at Garrick, he had been behaving himself so far and so had Hana. Well Hana was generally well behaved but she had her moments where you had to pry her out of trouble.

"Though careful to keep anything shiny out of their way."

"Mm, I think Hana's the one we have to worry about for the shinies," Elnara laughed. "Garrick goes for what's in reach, Hana tries for the things she can't reach."

Which really could be considered a good thing, since it meant she couldn't get most of what she wanted.

"There it is," Elnara nodded down the street, where the sign was clearly visible above the shop door.

He had to chuckle at that, it was true Hana tried things that weren't in her reach, maybe for that very reason. It was hard to tell what caught one baby's eye and not the other.

Walking up to the shop door, he opened it for Elnara.

"You first."

Elnara giggled softly. "Thank you," she smiled at Lore as she stepped inside. Automatically she reached up with one hand and covered Hana's so that the little girl would not be able to start grabbing things. It was not a very child-friendly shop (not that any jewelry shop ever was) but she didn't want anything to break.

Lore chuckled watching Elnara prevent ahead of time Hana from trying to grab anything, but just as well. Knowing Hana, like all babies would just stuff whatever she grabbed into her mouth.

The man behind the counter this time was not Aranhil, but instead a man who looked very much like him, but older, more weather-worn. He smiled warmly at the couple who entered the shop and called out a friendly greeting, just as he would for anyone else. But then he did a double-take, blinking for a moment, and called into the back room sharply.

Elnara blushed faintly and smiled up at Lore. "Aranhil's father," she explained quietly. "Come, I think he's calling Aranhil down here."

She led him over towards the counter and smiled up at the man who was there. "Good morning, Elurin," she said softly. "Long time no see."
