Last Monday, I decided to give my father a call because I was redoing the backyard, and it would be nice to have some help.
I have two Roommates who would help me, but neither of them were a very big help. 20 minutes in, he wanted to be done, and 5 minutes in, she just kinda stopped, and sat around and talked. It was kinda irritating though, me doing all the work, and them just sitting around talking, while I cleaned the yard.

So Tuesday comes, and it's like 25 degrees in the morning, so I put it off a day. I knew Trash comes on Friday, so I think Thursday would be good. Dess is at work, I could clean while she's at work. I do. (see above) I get all of the trash out of the yard (It was BAD) (Someone who used to live here was a trash picking hoarder, bad results)

My dad calls and cancells, saying Tomorrow would be better, because of blah blah blah. So I wait till Friday for the landscaping part of it. He never shows. Then Saturday, again, calls, tomorrow, blah blah blah. So I start the yard work on Saturday, thinking he'll show up. He doesn't. I (mostly) finish.

Yesterday, Sunday, same thing. He was gonna come over and make Burgers and chill and whatnot.
Nope. So he calls me last night, and promises, without a doubt, that he'll be here today. He even calls me THIS MORNING telling me he's excited, and he'll be there in a few hours. He's got some things to do, then he'll be here.
He calls me TELLS ME HE'S ON HIS WAY..

I clean the house.
I wash the dogs.
I clean the kitchen.
I go to the backyard, set up the fire, HAND-CUT all the branches off of the Christmas Tree and pile them up to get ready to burn. And what just happened?
He called and said they actually couldn't make it.
"Is Tuesday Okay?"
"No, Dad. I'm busy"
"Wednesday?"
"I have this thing"
"...Thursday?"
"We'll play it by ear"

I just don't get it. He swears its' not because he doesn't want to spend time with me, but ********, what else can it be?

My mother lives in NEW YORK. He lives TWENTY ******** MINUTES AWAY
And I see her more often.

My Brother booked a ticket to come down and visit him, in February. I've got big money that my Brother sees him before I do. OR that my dad bails at the last minute, leaves my 15 year old brother at the airport, and I have to come in and pick him up, and basically, let him stay at my ********, man.

And I know, "Wylr, why don't you just drive to see him, if you want to so bad?"

Why? Reader? Because Our Car Broke down.
Our Car Broke down and we can't fix it.
I have a little bit of money left on my foodstamps card (Cause I'm poor, I know), and that's missing. Gone. MIssing. Lost.
Toilet broke the other day. I hit it with a Hammer. Trying to fix it, broke it ******** ******** everything right now.

And I know, WAY tl;dr, but if you do read this, thank you, for listening. <3

I'd say that that's life, and while I guess technically it is, it doesn't feel like an appropriate answer.

Although I don't know your dad, and I don't know what your family dynamic is like, I'd expect you can tell him what you told us. Venting to him about this sort of thing may do one of three things

A. he'll realize his (from what you've described) a*****e-ish ways
B. He'll give you a good reason for what he's doing
C. he'll get mad and think you're wrong

You will probably feel better no matter if its via getting back at him, coming to an agreement, or recognizing its not what it seems.

this is just advice from an onlooker, might not work based on your life and etc. past experiences so on so on...


as for your roomies, KICKEM INTO GEAR! it's their stuff too, they should be just as responsible!

I Find that the same general effect can be had by toasting bread and putting it into the microwave with a piece of cheese in quick succession.

It's not as tasty, but it's pretty close and is much faster.

I love Grilled Cheese, and this sounds delicious.

So, I'm really trying to control my anger problem.

I think I did good today.

I didn't call the neighbor a 'stupid c**t b***h' to her face when she accused me of abusing my dog, and threatened me with a shelter investigation.

The two of you are so easygoing that I honestly have a hard time imagining you legitimately angry. xd

'Tain't that I don't believe you, since I understand that pretty well. It's a part of why I now apparently have the patience of time itself.

For some reason I felt you might be.,.. I'm not sure why though.
