Well, it's reasonable that the Queen of Fables could transform any sort of fiction into a reality, but strictly speaking I'm pretty sure Peter Pan isn't a fairy tale. It's more a fantasy story with a fairy in it. Albeit an old one (but not that old - just a little over 100 years). There are examples of more modern fairy tales, but Peter Pan is not one.

There are stories of Egyptian kings who were ferried across the Nile or through swamps. In fact it's said Menes, the first king of Egypt, was hunting near a swamp when he fell in. His dogs couldn't save him, but a crocodile carried him to safety, and where Menes was dropped off he founded Crocopolis, where a crocodile god named Sebek was worshipped.
The folklore options aren't exactly bountiful for anyone, really, let alone for anything so specific as crocodiles. Of course you don't really have to go with something so specific. What he is doesn't necessarily have to be the defining characteristic. You could also think more broadly and say he's like the dragon of folklore, which really you could draw a lot of comparisons, not the least of which that he tends to have a lair that he guards and he has no qualms gobbling up all the knights that come to slay him.
Actually, I'd say it fits his character better than almost any other story specifically about crocodiles or aligators might.
And considering he'll be pitted against Batman, it works especially well. Killer Croc is the dragon, and Batman is the Dark Knight. Epic battle.

originally yes, but Roxas changed his mind and thought about making you a Gargoryle.
Nightmare thought back the Gargoyles animated series "sweeeet."

No, yes, I have a great idea. I'm sure it's just a trifle compared to what's in store, but I think it'll be a nice piece of what's sure to be a great arc.
