*Finishes up the rest of her coffee, puts the cup in the sink and quietly slips away into her office. She does the security scans, goes down the corridor and into her Chambers for the night. With lots on her mind, she gets ready for bed, slips under the covers and eventually falls asleep.*

Since you mentioned keeping a journal to Kits, that reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask you. I've seen you jotting things down in a notebook here and there recently, but as far as I know you don't usually keep a journal of any sort. Mind telling me what that's all about or is it some big secret that I'm not supposed to have noticed?

Nau nau nau. It is no big secret... not for you anyway. I... um.. *twiddles his thumbs* ... I wanted to do something special for jabbress for her wedding, jhal I was not certain if there was anything that I would be able to really do for her. Everything seems to be going relatively smoothly and I am confident that she will already have everything arranged well before the ceremony.
*smiles slightly*
Then I thought that perhaps if there is nothing that I could do in regards to the ceremony itself, maybe there is just some small thing I could do in praise of their union. Upon thinking of the possibilities, I decided to write them a poem. I have been having mzilt difficulty trying to write it, though sweatdrop Since Officer Dougherty has asked me to be a groomsman, I somehow feel it is just that mzilt mzild important that I write it... though I suppose it is the best man who gives the speech and not the other groomsmen sweatdrop

You were planning on reading it out loud? That would be kind of.... I don't know... awkward, wouldn't it? o_O;
I believe reading it aloud would give the gesture mzild meaning. 3nodding
You could just put it in a card or something... especially if you want it to be some sort of surprise. Some chicks get crazy about making sure they know about everything that's going on and when for their wedding.
During the reception would be the mzilst appropriate time. The reception is mzilt mzild casual and it is during that time in which the best man gives a speech. I am just not certain if I would be considered to be "breaking tradition" for speaking up when it is the duty of the best man sweatdrop
Put it in a card then and you've got nothing to worry about.
*sighs*
Look at it this way: at least with a card, they'll have a copy that they can read whenever they want instead of it being a one-time thing.

It would be ideal to do both, really... jhal I suppose I will not have to worry about the matter at all if I never finish it sweatdrop I have only written two stanzas and the piece certainly does not look complete with those alone.
The wedding isn't for a few more months. You've got plenty of time to figure it out.
Perhaps so....
It is just... mzilst pieces I start on, I finish that same day or the day after. This one has yet to be finished and I know not of how long ago it was started sweatdrop

Don't worry about it too much. I'm sure you'll finish it easily enough when inspiration hits. Sometimes the more you try to force it, the more it eludes you. Like I said, you've got plenty of time to figure out it.
