Weiyuan groaned, sucking upon his lower lip hard. Rylenn was such a tease in his sleep!

Sleep. Right. This was the only way he could probably get something. He continued to grind and shiver. Before long, he slipped off and laid his head on Wei's lap. He curled and continued to sleep.

Wei sighed at the figure between his legs. Oh..he'd let Rylenn rest. He had no doubts that the days would be long and hard for the both of them.

Rylenn purred faintly, murmuring. He clinged to his lover, happily snuggled against him. It would be a few minutes before he woke up. He murmured. "Did we fall asleep outside..?"

Dante nodded. "That makes sense...I simply hope the man wakes up soon. The longer we linger, the worse. I don't want to end up like that man in the lake. Especially since...well, let's just say he wouldnt've been walking away."
He sighed, ran a hand through his hair. "I suppose I am lucky that meditation erases all that. Meditation allows for me to have in about four hours what humans need to sleep for eight hours to get. I was awake most of the night. Keeping watch." And thinking.
"Normally I would go fangirl on y'all and squee about how adorable you two are," Lina said, taking a seat on the log and grinning a smile that could be likened to that of a Columbian monkey about to execute devious mischief, "but I won't. I doubt that would get me brownie points. I will remind you two, however, that you are not in your own little love-love world. Rui's here, too...and I think it would be best if you both spent time with him. You can keep it in your pants for a few days more. Concentrate instead on what's more important...the people and moments you cherish."
She leaned forward and sighed. "...That's what I always told Nai," Lina sighed. "Maybe I could have stayed with him if he'd taken that advice...."

RuiZhi sighed, his smile thin. "It's okay, Elijah. I'm fine. I appreciate your concern, though. It's...it's nice, to be be thought of." His smile warmed a little as he looked at his new friend; worry was writ on the other boy's features, and although Elijah may never know it, he truly did put RuiZhi's heart at ease. Friendship could be a remarkable thing. "We'll all get out of here, it's just a matter of time. We have to be strong until it comes." The boy had no doubt in his mind that everything would come together; it was the people here, the students and the teachers, that gave him the confidence to say so.
Herei laughed quietly, finally releasing his hair from his meticulous fingers. "I have a feeling he's already awake, and surely asking himself the same question." He grinned easily at Dante, finding it somewhat comforting to see the other as concerned as he was. "We will wait, for there is no purpose in worrying ourselves into the ground."
He listened to Dante's brief explanation, nodding in understanding. "I am sure the others would have slept better if they knew you were being our vigil." The man chuckled, as though sharing a private joke with himself. "I appreciate it. I can only hope we will have the main issue resolved soon enough that you need not concern yourself with such things." Herei trusted Dante, and while not much (other than Professor Larine) ruffled the man, he could understand the release in being free of the worry that this place wrought. It was the type of experience that would seep into each of them, and not leave them for a long time, if it ever truly did go away.

That startled Far into a panic, setting off the frantic emotions that had been building. Eyes were almost impossibly wide and he jerked away without thinking about it...breaking into a run...just away from what he perceived as a threat.
"Run, Ka!" Calling to the other, he glanced back over his shoulder, not willing to run fast enough to leave the other behind, no matter what sort of frightening things lurked back there.
However, he wasn't keen on being eaten or mutilated or any other form of dead due to some strange beastie/person/thing that lived out here in the murky depths of this forest. Almost crying in his irrational fear and distress, Farlest could hear his heart beating in his chest as though it wanted to escape...a frantic pounding.
Whyever had he decided to go to China again?

Ka jumped when Farlest moved so suddenly, spinning. Then he was running too, without another thought or care in the world. Though he was usually more level-headed, this place was obviously getting to him. And Far's panic had more or less sparked his own ...
Problem being that Ka wasn't nearly as comfortable in any forest (much less this one) as his companion was. For the first few minutes ... he was all right. But then he started tripping over things, almost bouncing off trees here and there, biting his lip to keep from crying out - just trying to keep up.
He wasn't about to lose Far again ...
Then they ran into a patch of darkness ... and the next thing he knew, he'd tripped over something else, and he was falling. He flung a hand out to catch himself and then he did cry out when it connected, wrist bending and twisting painfully in a way that was very wrong. Nothing snapped, but it was near thing ... and Ka curled around himself, panting ... tears pricking the corners of his eyes. Ouch ... s**t ...

He nodded his agreement, fully believing in what RuiZhi had to say, "True." He studied RuiZhi's expression still before his baby blue orbs turned to glance around the area and to the others who interacted with one another in their own private worlds. He turned his eyes to Herei for a moment, but only so, before they looked away to observe other still within the building who stood conversing.

He stopped...freezing in place, much like a deer when it hears a gunshot before it bounds away to safety. Turning slowly, green eyes widened at not seeing Ka behind him, and his friend had been the only one out here who could make such a noise.
Suddenly he wasn't afraid any longer. Turning, he ran back...nearly stumbling over the other before realizing he was there. Kneeling down, he was almost crying. "Ka! Ka are you all right? What happened?" Long fingers brushed pale hair, the boy's brow was furrowed with worry.
Oh hell he hoped it wasn't anything serious...it didn't look like anything had sprung from the shadows and attacked him, so Far assumed that he had fallen, but falls could be serious things too...broken bones and the like, severe gashes and all sorts of other assorted nastiness. None of which he liked to think about in conjunction with his friend.
"I'm so sorry I ran like that...should have stayed close to you, I'm sorry!"

By that point, Ka had almost managed to get his breathing back under control, though each outward breath was more a hiss of pain. He raised his head to look up at Farlest, jaw clenched. "My wrist .." he murmured, unable to think far past the immediate pain.
It was slowly fading to a throbbing ache, but still ... and he rather suspected it would be a bad idea to try and move it. Taking another, deeper breath, he sat up a bit more. "I think I ... twisted it ... sprained it ... something," he murmued, moving hands slowly, trying to keep the hurt wrist immoble while pulling his arm up where he could see.
And then he blinked slightly, looking back toward Far. "It's not your fault ... I ... I was scared too."

The Chinese boy followed Elijah's gaze, catching sight of Herei. RuiZhi smiled a little, almost a grin; the teacher hadn't even acknowledged them and he was already smiling like a loon. Herei had that affect on him, silly as it were. He looked over to his quiet friend, giving a good stretch, the type that seemed to remove some of the tightness in his shoulders and some of the heavy worry on his brow. The boy knew he had good, capable people here, and it really did do wonders for his attitude.
"Have you eaten yet? It's probably getting close to lunch now. I have some trail mix stuff, mostly dried fruit and nuts." He leaned over and whispered as if sharing a great secret, "I think I also have some chips if you want something a little more filling." RuiZhi grinned playfully, a rare display of showing just how young he really was, before he moved to sit once more. Propping up his bag on his knee, he started to dig, smiling brightly.

Dante paused, his eyes sliding to the side, observing Herei out of the corner of his eyes. "...You are wise for a human," Dante said slowly.
And that, in his own way, was a compliment. Dante was aware that other teachers viewed him as elitist, egotistical...and Dante in turn viewed them as they judged him--as very insecure beings who could not focus on their work but instead must accuse others.
Like a certain human professor.
Herei never ceased to amaze him, however--he was a human who did not fight for experiences to come as quickly as possible, but rather a human who let things come as they would. They called those...Daoists, he believed?
"...Then we will wait."

Farlest bit his lip, nodding, still apparently distraught over what had just happened. Sliding an arm around the other's shoulders, he sort of leaned over to look at the injured wrist. "Is it swelling?" he inquired softly, apparently calming now that he knew that Ka wasn't seriously injured.
"I know...I just...if I hadn't have bolted like that..." Yes, Far was very very good at blaming himself, taking responsibility for things that weren't really his fault. It had always been so...only pounded into him by his upbringing, which was something he didn't talk about much, and Ka hadn't asked really...
They'd chatted a bit about such things, yes, but nothing in depth, discussed the family they did or didn't have, mostly didn't...as neither really thought that theirs counted as family.
"We should probably keep moving, though...does...your wrist hurt badly?" His fingers brushed the other's arm, well away from the injured wrist.

Well ... now Ka was torn between admitting the truth and not wanting to make the other boy worry more. Finally ... he did decide on the truth - better that way, in the long run. "It ... really kinda does," he murmured, flinching visibly as he tried, experimentally, to move it.
"Ow ... ah ... ok. Don't think it's broken ... but ..."
Glancing over at Farlest, eyes lidded for a moment. "And I think it is swelling up ... should probly wrap it or something, right?" Not that they had any sort of bandages. Or pain meds. Or ... anything really.
