"I can see it if I wish to expend engery. Sometimes I'm lazy." Shrugging lightly, but a smirk at her observations. "Probably to roll around in the hay with the girls of his choice. He's got enough rum on this thing to probably knock over an army." Snickering lightly before they had continued on and she looked to her personal fetch boy of sorts, pointing to a spot. "It's good to put down right there." Waiting for the skeletal being to put down the chest...before kicking it's legbone from under it, making the whole thing collapse before returning to merely a bone chip, which she picked up and plopped in her pouch. And yes thus to figuring things. "I hate ships...things are always rolling and moving, it's such a hassel that barely anything stays in one place." Thusly holding out a hand to Shyrae. "Let's get back deck side, I need to find a victim of choice for this little journey."

She stared at Savvy for a moment and then covered her mouth and shook her head. More and more like Zykariel every time she turned around. It made sense though. Big beds allowed for lots of room. But it was apparently time to return to the top deck so she took Savvy's hand and led her back up the stairs and onto the top of the deck, gazing out over the water. "Victim? What are you planning to do Savryn Silverfeather D'vinn?"

Reaching a hand she reached back and scratched at Chylithair's chest, the falcon bowing his head to her fingers to get a scratch in on his head and neck, making a soft crooning noise in appreciation for the attention that he was being given. "I need a constant on this ship, someone who is going to be useful to me in allowing me to see the places I want to see when I want to see them." A blink, tapping her fingers a moment against her thigh. "Who's the first mate on this thing you think?"

Hearing that coming from Lord Lycear felt like a punch to the stomach, well to a point since the dragon had every right to speak his mind. Sighing mentally he tired to think of a good excuse, and in stressing times like these it was hard to come up with a good one. "Sorry sir...we try to settle things with words before we get physical of course...we do our best to keep things calm but there will always be those going beyond the stress limit even when we are doing our jobs to a good degree, but the fights don't always start with raise voices though, they could be calm one second and the next they are swinging fists." Still even with the Lord's words Caden kept on telling himself that the dragon had every right to say this, all he could do was listen and reply when he was able to.
Though when Lycear asked for him to follow Caden didn't say anything and did what he was asked, so he kept himself in pace with the dragon as they headed over to his own place away from the tower, along the way he had to wonder why would the Lord want him anyway? Caden wasn't high in the ranks like other guards, yeah he did give his orders but he didn't have a certain status that separated him from the rest, so why was he needed? Well he got his answer in the from of a question, just one question was asked and Caden seemed a bit surprised that Lycear was asking his opinion on his matter, but he had no choice but to answer him. "Well sir...I honestly don't know how they would fair...I mean yeah I do work among them day by day, nights even, still, with Commander Kaznec leaving I think the guards would look to someone with the same or equal power for thier orders, we are just simple people willing to follow what is given my lord." He sighed a little as h tired to catch his breath, this seemed to be getting to him. "But with things going on, what with the earthquake and whirlpool...I think that if given the chance and from my own experience...the guards would come out fine sir." He hoped he was right, he didn't want to be wrong and the passing look he got from Lycear sent a shiver down his back, this was an odd moment even for himself.

Shyrae blinked for a moment and then had to admit that it made sense. By using someone who was consistently around on the ship, she'd always be able to see any number of things. "What if he's turned though?" She glanced around for a moment then strolled over and tapped a pirate on the shoulder. "Excuse me, could you tell me who the first mate on this fine lady is?" He gave her an answer and she gave a smile. "Why thank you very much." Walking back over to Savvy she nodded her head in the direction of the man. "His name is Jimmy Stones. Apparently Bones was already taken but he's sensitive about it..."

Standing now on the deck of the ship, he set down the small chest and turned a look to Caden, whom had followed him aboard. "Are you telling me what I want to hear, or what you really think?" He wasn't picking on Caden, he would of done this to anyone unlucky enough to cross his path of current inquiry. But to it all he merely gave a light shrug, looking over things. "We will see how things go." He may just have to step up to full time leader again.
"I'll pull strings like a puppeteer." Savryn gave a snicker. "Silly little humans. If they wanted a name so bad, they would of taken the proper steps to make it thier own, not settle for second best." You never settled for second best, or so she had been taught. You aimed and you hit your target. "Good to know, rune mark him for me so I can easily pick on him later?"
Jae had the knack for getting to places she didn't need to be. And the back end of the Chimera was one of those places. Working her way through the happenings on the ship, she came to Hunter's cabin, knocking on the door. She was inquisitive especially with all the things that she had thus seen on this ship. Looked like it was going to be used. "Captain, are you in your quarters?"

Well now look where they were, Caden never expected to be on the deck of Hunter's ship, not in his life time that's for sure. Still the guard quietly looked around the wooden vessel and actually thought that if this was in Lord Lycear's hands it could of been put to better use that's for sure. But when the dragon spoke again he turned his gaze to him and shook his head. "No sir it's what I think, everyone is willing to stand by the person who takes control of Commander Kaznec's position while he is away, there is nothing to worry about when it comes to the guards sir, jsut get someone to give us our orders we will do it."
Well he did hope for that, everyone held respect for Kaznec and his father, they have watched over this city with good eyes and made good decisions when it came down to make them, he rarely heard anyone among the regular guards speaking bad about them. Though a small nod and he smiled a little, odd moment was over with so he was happy. "Alright then sir, is there anything else you want me to go over?"

Shyrae glanced up as Caden and Lycear came aboard and shook her head. "You really are too bad Savvy." Heading back over, she calmly engaged Stones in conversation and marked him so Savvy would be able to sense the runic energy and he would more or less blare whenever he was around. Nodding to the pirate, she headed back over. "All done, Savvy. Good day's work, hmm?" Glancing around hse frowned, "Where's the captain at?"

"Hm, been quite a while since I was in charge. Seems like I'll have to step up to the plate once more. Though that's not at bad thing, perhaps put the adventure back in my life." Blinking and then looking to Caden. "Forgive an old dragon's rambling, you may take your leave if you wish Raynes. Stay out of trouble though, there's enough of that to go around these days."
"Why thank you." Taking to merely leaning on the railing and waiting as Shyrae did he thing, giving her friend a pleased smile from under her drawn down hood...usually when one looked at her they saw just the end of her nose and her mouth which is how she preferred it. "Good day's work? Don't be lazy now." Nudging her friend lightly before a light shrug. "Probably drinking rum somewhere."

He didn't flinch from being pecked at, but rather at her words... thoughts. He would not complain at the consistency of nature's anger and physical threats, but she seemed to be implying that Ilindal was still not prepared enough to deal with them in entirely. "It is not wise to boast one's abilities, yet I speak the truth when I say that I am anxious. I know you will be there to guide us on this journey but you are right, M'lady. Failure is my ultimate fear, and the very thing my anxiety stems from." Shaking his head slightly and tucking a strand of hair behind his ear, he looked out to the whirlpool again. "Why must nature punish the people in this way? Have we not used the earth's resources as they should be? Conscientiously and diligently."

Caden quickly spotted Shyrae and Savvy when they came into view, and he had to wonder what was the purpose of the two of them being on the ship. Though really he wasn't in his position to judge since Lycear wasn't making a big deal out of it, so maybe they had a good reason for being here reason then.
Though he looked back to said dragon and caught what he happened to say, so Lord Lycear was going to fill in the roll of Commander of the guards? That would be interesting to see but this wasn't something that should be known right now so Raynes was going to keep it to himself. "Alright sir, if you need me...well just look you'll be surely to find me." It was pretty easy to find Caden when needed, just ask for his name and the person who was ask is bound to point in some direction; it almost seemed like everyone knew him somehow, well the kids would probably but thats a different story. So with a small nod of his head, and another to the elves if Shyrae noticed, he took his leave off the boat, once he got back on land he paused and looked at the ship, he just had to wonder where it was going to go, this was going to be one of those things that would bug him for awhile, it just got stuck in his head somehow.

He got up, hearing the cabin knock and moved to the door, opening it up and giving a raise of the eyebrow.
"Yes. Is there something troubling you, Bell?"
stepping back and gesturing for her to come in to his cabin. His crew were working hard and getting ready to sail. Stones gave very little in the way of information to Shyrae...after all this was a pirate ship. which ment the crew knew only what the Captain deemed to tell them.
They were fully prepared to sail. and noon..they were leaving for a predetermined course the captain was going to have for them. animals were being stored for various needs, and food and more rum and regular drinks.

"Oh you know what I mean. But all in all it's been pretty adventurous since we got here." She turned and leaned against the railing the other way, letting the wind ruffle her long hair for a moment before pulling off her cloak and letting the breeze dance along exposed skin. It got so hot under that thing but her mother had ingrained into her the need to wear a cloak whenever one was outside. Helped with protection and masking. "Looks like Caden isn't invited on this trip. I wonder why if Kronos is. Unless Captain won't allow one of Lycear's Guard to accompany us."
I would be concerned were you not. Anxiety is a sign that you do not yet have all the answers and you recognized that as such. A healthy fear of failure is not always a bad thing. She watched the swirling water with him, noting it's motions and patterns and once again cast out a net to see what she might find. Gently she sighed, "Not even we know the answer to that Kaznec. She has a mind of her own and knows all. Sometimes her moods cause great pain. We must merely endure. Can you not give someone all the respect they deserve and they still hurt you? Rather sad topic at this point wasn't it? She returned to the subject before. Young birds aren't even sure if they can fly, yet they are pushed out of the nest and forced to make a choice. One day, young Kaznec, your father is going to push you out of your nest and when that day comes you must choose to soar with the eagles or fall with the leaves. Even the water must one day choose where it will flow.
The difference, as I'm sure you know intimately, is their decisions affect no one else. You will be responsible for far more than you believe you can handle. But you are wise to the ways of the world and what you do not know, you have no qualms about asking. This is the true mark of a good leader, Kazenc. One who can admit when he needs help and seek it out for himself. One who loves his people as much as or more than he loves himself and one who only wants what is best. You possess these qualities in vast amounts and that is why you need not fear. She paused again and then fluttered her feathers. You feel guilt for not being here when the water began. Why? You could not stop it.

Lycear watched Caden walk off and shook his head lighty. "Good answer." Before turning his attention to what was going on around himself on the ship. These things need be monitored and such after all. Though his attention did turn off dead to gaze at his son, whom the Laerethe was perched upon. Hm, the boy didn't look too thrilled...was probably upset that he wasn't here when trouble broke out. Kaznec he had come to realize, took the city quite seriously.
"Troubling me? No, I'm just nosey when I want to be." Stepping into the cabin as he gestured her to, tucking her wings close and dipping her head a little even if she didn't have to, just to make sure nothing caught on the doorframe. That was just plain embarrasing. "You look like you're out to do more than just your normal pirating...may I as what you're up to?" After all, Lycear was on this thing as well, there had to be something going on here at the moment.
"If adventurous is going to be the word that you're going to use. Then again I suppose for you this is all brand new and wonderous and such. Though at the mention of Caden, Savvy took a glance through Chylithair's eyes, watching the human walk off. "Or maybe he wants to stay here nice and safe. Human's don't take too many risks. If he wants to miss out on such a thing as this, then let him." A blink. "Though I'm still trying to figure out how the hell we got pulled into this."

"Yes it is. You've been out and about for years and I'm only starting. I apologize if my gushing is upsetting you." She watched Caden as well, lifting her hand in a wave just in case he turned around and looked back and then shrugged, "Their lives are fragile. If I only had about eighty or so years to live, I'd probably be careful too. Either that or live so recklessly I had fun but died young. I suppose that's the irony isn't it? For humans, life kills them." A shake of her head and then she laughed. "We followed the pretty little star girl?"
