Rhiannon_Larae Ok, I'm getting frustrated. I've been on Gaia for almost a year now and I *still* can't tell what's just poor taste and what actually breaks Gaia's TOS. I like to go to the chatterbox because there are lots of polls, so I can earn gold without begging. Unfortunately, I come across lots of polls that are creepy (just today I saw one asking for photos of underwear, one saying he'll do ANYTHING for gold, etc...) Can anyone either: 1- suggest a better way to earn gold 2- clarify what crosses the line 3- tell me where I get that information. Almost a year and I still feel like an ignorant little noob! stressed there's a lot of spam guilds (like magical poll land). you could always join one of them. there's still stupid threads like I HATE MY BF'S c**t EX GF!!!! (it is a spam guild after all), but I haven't seen any creepy ones asking for pics of undies or anything like that. you could always ignore those anyway. MPL has thousands and thousands of polls. x_x

I love what inuit said on the last page (currently 34). XD Quote: Kids are just as exposed to ***** outside in real life, if not more. But, lo and behold, adults roam freely! Oh no! But one of them could be a child sex offender! Lets lock them all up and have kids rule! D:

Not to play devil's advocate here or anything, but I don't really see that the majority of people really read what he was saying. Especially after seeing some of the threads in the CB. He never once said if you're an adult on Gaia, you're automatically a *****. He simply brought up the fact that there might be cause for concern because the Gaian population is so large and no doubt, a good number of those people ARE creepy! In fact, he even tried to clarify: Quote: I didn't mean all adults on gaia shouldn't be here.-i'm just pointing out that with such a large population of adults now on gaia people should watch out who they talk to, and give personal informaiton to. I mean, yeah that's a duh statement, but there are mature Gaians and there are immature ones. Trusting ones. Young ones. impressionable ones. You know, I even discovered a way old account of mine last night that I hadn't logged in as in 3 years. I had tons of friends requests and PMs and one even asked if I'd want to ever meet in person somewhere. This account had no personal info and I just blew it off, but take a young person who may be lonely and looking for friends - that can be a real danger. It's a danger that is everywhere online, of course. I'm not saying it's isolated to a place like Gaia. Its a concern everywhere - DA, LJ, yahoo groups, other forums, chat programs, etc. But that's one thing that bugs me about this place - people automatically assumed he was making a generalization that all adults on Gaia are ***** when in reality, he has probably just seen a lot of the crap going on in the CB and around and felt a twinge of alarm. I just think it's a shame that someone can't actually voice something like that without getting misread and labeled "stupid." Maybe I would have responded differently if I hadn't been in CB last night myself, clicking polls for quick gold, and seeing a plethora of "girls are boys' slaves" and "who's naughty and wants a spanking" and "boys and girls alone in a hotel room" threads. In fact, I had those very thoughts last night and was thankful that my little girl is still just a baby and I can shelter her from that stuff for a while still. You don't know who's lying about their age or gender for that matter! Sorry for the book and I hope I didn't offend anyone! Eep! Don't hate me!

You do have a point, Aliena. ^_^
I poll in CB as well and I've seen those threads as well. They're really disturbing to me.
It seems that a lot of young people post in the CB. Which just makes those threads even creepier. confused
I didn't read the thread, but I do know all about people making assumptions before they really read the thread. I knew a guy who made a joke thread about gay marriage. It was full of pretty obvious 'this is a joke' comments. Yet he got flamed to all hell about his thread. This continued even after he added that it was a joke in big bold letters in the first post.

Gah! I breast feed in public, who cares if people gave me weird looks.. >.> althought it was kind of difficult at times, my boobies were HUGE like MASSIVELY OVERLY BIG! I hate them x.x they are to big...
I was at the Wic Clinic once, well the back story to this story, at the hospital in the Lactation Casultaint's office she had a poster that had a lil girl about the age of four or five trying to breastfeed her babydoll, there was no nudity of the girl, she was doing it outside her shirt..now back to the story; we were talking, the girl and I and I made a comment about the picture. You know what she said, she was like "Oh, we had one of those here, but this woman complained about it, and we had to take it down. She said it was perverted."
COMPLAINED? PREVERTED? God, I would hate to be that woman's kids...

We WORK HARD for our clothing WHIIINNNEEEE" Hey well guess what kids, when I joined you couldn't trade user to user, and only get two donation items per account per month, AND didn't get squat in the way of clothing when you joined. Let's just roll time back to then, and anything you own will all be earned by you because you can't recieve donations or horde letters, or anything. s**t, I'm an adult with a bank account, I didn't earn squat, I pretty much bankrolled my inventory donating to Gaia. pppbbbtttt. It's funny a lot of them are talking to me like I don't know anything about "old glorious gaia or something" *stooped over old Nopen busts out her cane and story book* chillens lemme tell you about a time, a time when ED was a glorious place where enlightened discussion and discourse took place, where rando begging via pm was non existant and there was peace and happiness about the land. xd rofl

Oh wow that's so pathetic. =/
So basicly a bunch of 'oldbies' that are pissed off because of the newbs getting a fairer chance at more than one outfit got together and made a petition.
Don't they have better things to do with their time?
edit: If I were to want the first outfit I 'saved' up for I'd need 123k. confused

Breastfeeding is the best way to feed babies and we've been doing it since humans have been having kids. To me it is wrong to make it a dirty thing instead of something beautiful. ::steps off soapbox::

Okay ya know its difficult enough securing a house on its own without deal with problems from outside sources!
AJ and I finally found a home we could afford that was big enough for the three of us, so we apply for it and secure the deposit for it and everything. Well I call on Friday to get an update on how the application is going and find out they're only waiting for confirmation on AJ's last place of residence.......which just so happens to be his parents. They lost us the last place we applied for because they wouldn't talk to these damn people and simply tell them "yes he lived here".
Why won't they do it you ask? Because we wouldn't let them invite 20 extra people of "social prominence" at the last second to our wedding.
My paitience level with them is gonna go to Hell in a handbasket if they screw this up for us yet again.
And on the subject of breastfeeding in public, its a flippin' natural thing to do to take care of babies. As long as you're not exposing yourself brazenly to do so, and you're being modest about it I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. Hell, breathing is a natural thing to do, but you don't see people complaining about it and forcing people not to breath in public now do ya?

Did his parents know that someone would be calling them? I was doing work for the Cancer Society and forgot to tell my mom that people would be calling (we live w/my parents). If she didn't bother answering the phone than she would tell the people we weren't there and treat them like people wanting money.

GeminiKizzy Did his parents know that someone would be calling them? I was doing work for the Cancer Society and forgot to tell my mom that people would be calling (we live w/my parents). If she didn't bother answering the phone than she would tell the people we weren't there and treat them like people wanting money. Yes they knew. They knew last time, they were told again this time, they knew not to invite 40 extra people to the wedding without permission and did it anyways, they knew not to have my husband buy a car for $2500 when it was only worth $900, they knew not to open deliquent accts in my husband's name without his permission and then not tell him and let them go to collection agency. See as much as I would like to say otherwise, they are in fact human beings and know the difference between right and wrong. Now whether or not they adhere to right and wrong is a totally different discussion. But yes, they knew someone would be calling them to verify he lived with them, just like they knew last time. They've been very angry about how we handled the wedding for almost 10 months, and have done everything they can to make our lives miserable.

I got prety angry with a lady yesterday at the post office. I get out of my car (and truly I try not to prejudge a situation, but yeesh!) and the car next to me, while running, has two children in it---by themselves.
They couldn't be more than 5-6. First off, the girl is in the passenger front seat, they're hopping around, the boy jumping in the back. Okay, maybe they just took off the seatbelts (which there was no booster seats and I know booster seats go up for that age and weight), but they were in there BY THEMSELVES!
So, I go in, very angry that someone would leave kids in there--period. I don't care that you could see them right out the window, the car is running, it's only going to be a few minutes. So much can go wrong. So, I made a big deal to an employee that some idiot left their kids in the car by themselves and that's HUGELY child endangerment. Turns out it's the kids' grandmother and she was NOT happy at all that I said something. So, it was pretty ugly and she ended up driving away in a huff (which the children were not restrained at ALL when she drove off).
