Yeah... because missing precious months of education or making them during the summertime is soooo good. >__> Not. school = r0xx0rz i disagree that school rox but i agree that teachers on strike is NOT a good thing. Imagine the pressure the grade 12s are on right now. They dont know anything, they need guidance and their teacher is out there fighting for a cause. They cant ask the teachers to come back!! Yet they are basically screwed for their provincials >_<

The strike is definitely screwing the grade 12's. The longer classes are out, the less time there is to cram all the information the curriculum requires students to know.
My sister is in grade 12 right now, and she's been out for three days now? That's 15 hours of class missed right there. There's a lot of learning to be done in 15 hours.
Sure you get some time off now, but it'll come back and bite you in the a** later on.

mystic_emerald @bloodyrecca - I completely agree! I like reading for fun, but when the class starts going into how religion affects the society involved in the book and how it affects the characters' judgment or something, I'm just put off. I like to follow the plot, the characters, the essentials of a story you know? I don't like delving so deeply into obscure aspects of a story. xp @yenyit - aww, that's ridiculous. Seriously... xp We're like lending our money to the banks, with which they can use to lend it to other people at a fee right? So getting nothing for that is an outrage! 3nodding indeed...I'll probably get more interest keeping it at home...adding those pennies I find on the street xd xd xd

I'm grade 11, and I've got a socials provincial at the end of this term.
Now, minus the fact that we've been on strike 4 days, my socials teacher has been away for 6 weeks. I haven't seen her since the second day of school. We've had at least 5 different substitue teachers, and have barely started to actually do something with the course.
*sigh* sweatdrop Our school calender said the school closes on June 30th. Now it'll be July 4th.
We'll be in school on Canada Day. Damn teachers really aren't thinking. scream

They have to do all sorts of extra stuff like creating a formal portfolio for grad and take courses like Planning 10. That's what my youngest sis have to go through. And as for my other sister, she's in Grade 12 right now and yeah, she's happy missing school and all but she's also worried about missing too much material if the strike drags on. xp
