 I thrummed deeply at the feeling of her stroking her scales. I had refrained from mentioning it, thanks to the sheer awkwardness it would cause... though I'm glad she wasn't too mad at me, for keeping that a secret. I nuzzled her once more, enjoying her touch and her presence.
I didn't really know what to say about her words about me having my own clan, or looking on like an Elder. It was... this whole thing was a mess, I'm just glad everyone had, for the most part, calmed down.
"We can keep quiet, yes." Perla said. "If you need someone to look after the children, do not be afraid to ask." She smiled at me (us!) warmly.
I nodded. "Thanks mom." I said. "That... that means a lot. We suspect someone may be after the baby angel, so we want to be especially safe and secure with our kids."
This made my mother tsk. "If someone wants to deal with an angel that bad then they should summon one themselves. Not play manipulative games with people's lives and bodies."

She smiled at the thrumming noise. Poff was startled at first and flinched, digging her claws into Larissa. She squeaked and gasped and Poff apologised. "Sorry! The dragon purr is loud" she said.
Larissa chuckled and kissed the cat's muzzle. "It's okay. You didn't mean it. I'm used to your claws by now anyway". Larissa regarded scratch marks fondly since they marked her with reminders that Poff was her familiar. She kept rubbing Leo's scales. "The dragon purr is my favourite Garnet sound" she said. That sound melted her anger and sadness away. It was strangely pretty.
She looked back at Pearla. Her blush returned when she offered to take care of the babies. Leo thanked their parents and mentioned someone might be after the angel. Pearla replied and Larissa found herself agreeing with something the woman said.
"Yes. Thank you. For both saying you'll keep our secret, and - and offering to babysit" she stammered.
"So...does that mean you accept the idea of me and Leo being together? I hope that if so, you would come to the wedding. And...yeah, the person who used demon magic on the scrolls, we still don't know who it is or what their motives are but the way they've treated us so far has been sinister and creepy. Leo and his familiars have helped me and Poff train to fight and defend ourselves but having demons come after us is still scary. I have no idea what they want our baby angel for but it scares me to think about. We hide in Aria most of the time".

I couldn't help but smile at Poff and Larissa's conversation when I started to thrumm. I had spooked Poff but Larissa loved it, like always.
"You are welcome, Larissa." Perla said when Larissa thanked her. At her question about Larissa and me being together, I could tell my mother was trying very hard not to frown.
"I'm sure you'll grow on her." My father said, wrapping his arm around Perla affectionately. "Just give it time."
I couldn't help but churr at that.
"I will attend the wedding, at least." Perla said. "As for me accepting you... we will see."
I got up from where I was at that, and I headed over to them both and started nuzzling them. Mother blinked but I gently headbutted them, and my father caught on quick and started scratching me behind the ears.
When I was done showing affection, I went back to Larissa and sat next to her, my tail curled around her.
"Learning how to defense oneself is good." Mother said with a hum. "If for no other reason then for physical fitness. How long has it been since we smudged the house, dear?" Perla was asking Dad.
"We might need to get a sage bundle, yes. We will make sure our home is safe." My father said. "I think I may still be able to do some holy spells from the old days..."
"I do hope so. I still need to get in touch with my spirituality." Perla said with a sigh.

Larissa smiled when Leo's father said that she would grow on Pearla. "I really hope so" she said softly.
The woman didn't seem to like her that much and it would seem she'd prefer someone else to be Leo's partner. But Leo accepted and loved her just for who she was. Leo had proved that before. Their supportive actions and affection showed that they didn't take their mother's side on this and think they should be with someone else. And that made all the difference.
She nodded at Pearla's acceptance of their wedding invitation and hesitant 'we'll see' to accepting Larissa. She hadn't outright said no, and that meant there was room for them both to learn to accept and like each other over time. The crystal witch beamed when Leo went to nuzzle their parents. She was glad Leo was happy. And that they were still getting along great with both parents.
"Actually, I don't like the physical fitness part of it" Larissa admitted. "But my familiar and I have good reasons to fight, so that gives us the motivation to keep training" she looked at Leo and their familiars with gratitude. "We can protect people we care about and it does help us stay healthy even if it feels uncomfortable when we start to work out". She turned her gaze to Leo's parents as they talked about smudging the house and holy spells.
"The wedding will be held in Spring, a few weeks from now" she said. "And maybe Leo and I could help you do protective wards or spells on the house before we go".

Neither parent decided to comment on Larissa's dislike of exerize. Not an uncommon thing, though her physical fitness would be good not just for her but her baby in the long run.
"Right, you are in Defense against Demonics." My father said. "And, where are my manners? I'm Quirrel Ameras." He said, nodding. "What type of holy magic do you know?"
"We're learning how to blend our inner divinity with the magic we're learning from our other classes. Charms and things, prayers, that kind of thing." I said matter of factly.
"That's interesting. I would not mind your holy spells, protecting our home. What do you think, Perla?" Quirrel said, glancing to her.
Perla smiled. "That would be nice. Can never be too careful, with demons."

Larissa knew it was good for her and her baby to have some physical exercise, so she did also train on most days to fill the quota of half an hour each day. Sometimes more, depending on how long training took. Walking all around Aria, up and down stairs and all round the school to get to classes also helped. She liked swimming in the pool/bath as well sometimes. Still, it could be said, she was making more of an effort than she had at the start of the year. She was gifted with a voluptuous figure in any case, which came with its own challenges. Big boobs, thick thighs and a round belly tended to chafe in places or jiggle about. But she trained and went on walks and made efforts so that was the main thing. She no longer huffed and puffed so much up staircases.
"Quirrel, nice to meet you" Larissa said. "I'm Larissa Wingates" She let Leo answer about what magic they knew so far. "Of course. I'll get right to that. Would you mind showing us about the house, so we can cover all bases?"
Fortunately he didn't mind and Larissa followed him all around the mansion, placing protective and defensive holy spells, using her wand, Poff's Amplify ability and the hair clip to make some nice strong, permanent lasting holy spells. She felt good about helping and also got a private tour of the house. Not that she could memorise its layout from one walkthrough. But it was still useful.
Once she and Leo had finished applying holy spells everywhere, they all met back up in a room of the house. Larissa turned to Leo. "Well now that's done. Should we go and see Charlotte and Olivia? We have to get these wedding gowns made on time and we have a lot of stuff to sort out".

While Quirrel lead Larissa around the house, I instead headed for the center of the building. It was the large entry hall, not dissimilar to the Main one in Aria (to be sure, I did base Aria a lot after my childhood home.)
Mother followed as I leapt into the air and hovered for a moment, tilting my head back and forth. I knew the layout of the mansion well, and I pictured it's layout in my head
As I hovered, my wings started to waft darkness. But it was darkness that glittered, much like the night sky or my scales. The darkness swirled and dispersed about the house, clinging to corners like dark, sparkily cobwebs; and tiny stars dancing on the edges of one's vision as they move through the house.
"Impressive, Leo." My mother said as I landed. "I've never seen someone bless a house like that before."
"Darkness has an interesting way of accepting holy power." I said. "It quite often evokes the night sky."
When Larissa was done, she soon found me. I smiled at her when she mentioned Charlotte and Olivia. "Yes, of course." I swiftly took on my half dragon form, and offered my arm out to Larissa. I smiled at my parents.
"The Invitations will be sent out soon." I said to them, before leading Larissa to a door and back into Aria.
There we got ourselves properly dressed for an outing, and I wanted to take the car to the mall today. So we left the dorms and headed to where I had parked my car, starting her up and heading off to the mall.

She took Leo's arm and smiled. "I saw your blessing on the house, it looks very pretty" she said. "I left most of my spells invisible, so the enemy wouldn't be able to tell they were there. But they'll show up when activated by an attack, or if you use a spell that lets you view hidden magic"
She waved goodbye to Quirrel and Pearla, following Garnet/Leo through the door back to Aria. She sighed and released Leo's arm, stretching with her hands raised above her head. "Ahhh. I'm glad that's over". Poff jumped down from her shoulder and ran off into the house to make a quick litter break and have a drink from her water dish.
Larissa was still happy to wear her current outfit of the white v neck blouse and pink cardigan with the pastel rainbow skirt. Her tights and slippers had gotten wet from the trek through the snow and were still damp, so she had to swap out for some new tights and her cute white sneakers. She found Poff again and they were soon in the car on the way to the mall. Larissa was glad for the transport. She didn't like the idea of travelling on her own any more in case of surprise demon attacks.
They arrived and she got out of the car. "I texted Charlotte on the way in, she's meeting us at Olivia's shop to discuss the plans for my wedding gown" she said, as they walked into the large building. "Got any ideas for what you want? I was thinking we should go with a matching theme. Like, our dresses are different but they match somehow."

I thought about her question as we headed into the mall. "Well, we're thinking of a heavens theme right? Or perhaps the vault of the heavens? You could be day, since you want a white dress, and I can be night since I don't mind wearing dark colors." I said with a smile.
I had grabbed a number of diamond leaves while Larissa had been changing her socks, specially for this. I knew I wanted my dress to be patterned of the night sky, and knowing Larissa she's going to want something sparkly on her gown.
I lead the way to the clothes shop; where we found Charlotte and Olivia pouring over one of Olivia's catalogues. I strode in, with Larissa behind.
"Hello ladies!" I said with a smile.
The two looked up and smiled at me.
"I don't know how you stand the weather out there, darling." Olivia said, looking me over. "You look like you're ready for the height of summer."

She nodded "Yes, that's right. Oh, what a good idea, Leo. Day and night, the sky, that ties it together perfectly. I might be a pale dawn with traces of stars and a new sun. I think stars should be on both our dresses since the celestial theme affects us both. Maybe something yellow for the sun but I don't want to go all yellow, I still want my dress white or....or a very pale blue".
She glanced at Leo as they walked through the mall. "Maybe you should go with a shade of purple or blue instead of black. Though black can be elegant and classy"
They entered the shop, Larissa still talking with enthusiasm. She only shut up when Leo greeted the women. She returned their friendly smiles. "Hi Charlotte, thank you so much for offering to help with my dress. I know there's not much time for you to make it" she said, stepping up to the two women. "Hi Olivia, I hope business is well" she said amicably.
Charlotte smiled at Leo and Larissa and their familiars. Her Ailbhe scurried around the pages of the catalogue, helping turn pages and making suggestions. "Hi there, good to see you. Oh, that's okay. I'll just use some magic to help make the dress faster and sew the fabric together. Since you need it for Spring. I was looking over some designs. Come here, and tell me what you think of these" she beckoned them over. "For your figure, I thought maybe something like this" she pointed to a pattern. "Ailbhe and I both liked this one as well. What kind of dress do you have in mind?"
Larissa told her about Leo's idea to match with their wedding theme of the heavens. "So I want to wear something white and bright, something pure. I was thinking of putting a pale blue, with white floof for the skirt, and sparkly stars. And a sun! The stars could be made of seed beads, to cut down the cost. Or maybe something like, Swarovski crystals" She was completely forgetting about the giant gemstone trees in Aria's garden.
Unlike Leo, who had picked some leaves to use. They were real diamond, and there were lots of them and they were free. Not to mention, they'd probably grow back once harvested.

I listened to Larissa geek out about the potential of her having a pale blue dress decorated with stars and floofy. That was totally Larissa, and Charlotte and Olivia just grinned.
Then Larissa was talking about stars, being made of seed beads or swarovski crystals. I couldn't help but smile.
"I'd want something more sleek and form fitting, for me." I said. "And I don't want to use something like those Swarovski Crystals. Why not these?" I said with a smirk; pulling out a large handful of glimmering diamond leaves. The only two were different was a shimmering golden leaf, looking almost like hardened sunlight, and a pale shimmering leave that looked like Moonstone.
Both Olivia and Charlotte were staring. "Where, Darling, did you get those?" Olivia asked.

She turned to look at Leo, curious about what they were getting at when she rejected the Swarovski crystals idea. "Oh? Oh wow, of course! Why didn't I realise?" she laughed a bit, doing a facepalm. "The gem trees in Aria! That's perfect, Leo" She looked at the golden one and the pearlescent white-rainbow stone.
"Ooh, I know what those are! This one is Sunstone, and that's Moonstone" she said proudly. "I've memorised a lot of crystals in my studies. You know, I think that would offer the burst of bright yellow I'd need for the sun" she said. "Unless you have plans to use it already, Leo" she looked questioningly at her dragon mate.
Olivia raised her eyebrows. "Gemstone trees! My my, those are quite rare and very expensive. Beautiful too. If you planted one in a regular garden you'd be warding off thieves all the time. But I shouldn't be surprised, Leo has the means to obtain such things" She smiled at them. "I'd be happy to use them in creating your gowns. But we may need to use magic to cut and shape them into smaller pieces. They would be too heavy and chunky in this form"
Charlotte reached out to touch the diamond leaves "Wow, that's awesome. These are pure diamond, I can tell! I'm not so good with gems and diamond cutting but if you can make them workable, I'll decorate the fabric of the dress with them" she said.
Larissa nodded "Thank you! Actually, I think I can cut them down into tiny shapes, and even magically bore tiny holes in them so that they could be threaded onto the dresses. I can assist Olivia with that"
Poff looked at the sparkly leaves "Can I have some on a collar? A pale blue one?"
Larissa stroked her "I'm sure you could. We have a whole tree full of them! If Leo doesn't mind? I want to put a pair of fluffy angel wings on Snow Poff too, if that's all right. I just think it would look so pretty and cute on her"
They kept talking, and Charlotte helped Larissa pick a dress pattern that would suit and flatter her figure. She took Larissa's measurements, writing them down in purple glittery ink.
Olivia meanwhile, helped Leo pick out a pattern for their dress, listening to their wishes. She waved her hand and bolts of fabric began floating out of the back store room. "Now, to choose what colour and type of fabric for the dress, you can have anything in store and if I don't have something you want, I will order it in for you" she told Leo.

I smiled at everyone's reaction to the leaves. If Aria wasn't as secure as she was, I wouldn't bother with gemstone trees-- but since she was, I had no problem harvesting them here and there.
"I don't mind, as long as we don't over-harvest. But these should be plenty enough, and if not I know how to get more." I said, when Poff asked about a sparkly collar. I then handed Larissa the Sunstone leaf. "Have at it love~" I said with a smile.
Soon enough though, Larissa was discussing with Charlotte about her dress; I was left with Olivia, who was helping me design my own gown. "I think a mermaid would be pretty on me." I said, looking at the book; I was referencing a gown that would be fitted from chest to knee. "Sleeveless, and made of a mottled dark blue and dark purple fabric. You know, to look like space."
Olivia chuckled like that. "You sure love that cosmic pattern. How about a single sleeve, dear? I could make it work around your wings."
I thought about it. "What kind of sleeve?"
"Since you seem to be going for form fitted flare, I think I'd have it fit your upper arm and turn into a bell at the elbow."
"I like the sound of that." I said with a smile.
"It'll look gorgeous darling. Where would you want the skirt's flare to start?" She was taking attentive notes, writing in regular black ink in her notebook.
"How about upper thigh?" I asked. "Not too low as to mess with my movement... On second though, I'd better go with an A-line."
I can't forget I need a dress I can move in if demons attack. Otherwise, I'll be forced to fully transform into a dragon or risk ruining the gown.
This was making Olivia pout. "But the shape, dear! You in a mermaid would be enchanting!"

Poff smiled and squeezed her eyes happily at Leo's reply. "Thank you! I want to look purrfect for this special day. I like the idea of being an angel-cat. Maybe then I could chase Sapphire and Gossmer in the air." She chuckled and looked at the two familiars, then shook her head "Just kidding, just kidding! But I've wondered what it would be like to fly. You two do it so effortlessly. By the way, are you dressing up too? I could make some suggestions for you" she offered. She was being friendly, pounce jokes aside.
Larissa took the sunstone leaf in both hands, "Thank you, Leo" she pecked Leo's cheek. "I'm sure this will make a lovely stylised sun"
Charlotte and Olivia helped them both decide what they wanted, writing down notes and planning the gowns to their exact specifications.
Larissa ended up going with a full on ball gown in a plus size. It was to be the palest blue, with lacy clouds and tiny stars made of white diamond pieces, and wispy, lacy white and blue layers for the bell skirt. The sun would be over her left breast, made of tiny fragments of sunstone, looking like a round dotted circle with flame-like, wavy spires around the outside. Her shoes would be white heels crusted in glitter and a pair of white glitter coated dove wings would form her hair piece. Her hair would be a long, messy plait with sprays of tiny white baby's breath flowers down the braid. Her jewellery would be white or diamonds. She would emulate a pale spring morning, fair and fresh. The skirt of the gown would not trail on the ground as she had to be able to move with ease and pick it up and run if needed. In case demons showed up.
Charlotte started to conjure image clouds showing different versions of Larissa's gown, and she chose one that she was happy with. Charlotte popped the cloud with a touch and a transparent, wispy hologram of the dress materialized. "This is just a ghost, for the fitting. Let's try it on" she said, and the dress floated over to Larissa and wrapped itself around her. Charlotte walked around Larissa, inspecting her handiwork from each angle. "This is lovely, Larissa. If you're happy with it, then I can have it made in a couple of weeks" she smiled.
Larissa agreed and Charlotte waved her hand, and the dress poofed into thin white mist that swirled over to Charlotte's note book. A picture of the dress appeared on the pages, showing front and back. Notes about the matching accessories and hairstyle filled the pages.

Olivia wouldn't let go of the mermaid dress design now that she had pictured Leo in it. Leo would look like a dream in such a design. "You know, why don't I just put a stretching enchantment on the celestial fabric of your dress? That way it won't be so tight but it will still hug your figure before it flares out at the bottom. I would probably cast a weightlessness spell as well, on the entire dress and diamond stars. Then it will be as light as air and wouldn't hamper your movements walking up the aisle" she smiled.
She took some of the diamond leaves and got her wand out "Would you mind if I started to break these down into tiny gems now? How would you like them to be? Tiny stars, or little beads, or maybe prisms?" she asked. "And would you like the moon as a crescent? I think that would look best. And darling, what accessories would you prefer? If you're going with this fabric" she floated the bolt of fabric over and it unwrapped, showing the rich purples and blues. "Then I think silver, blue and purple could be used for the shoes, jewellery, and flowers"

Sapphire and Gossamer looked bored at Poff's pounce jokes. But they decided to engage in conversation with the cat familiar anyway. "We were planning on using the same celestial illusion we used at the Masqurade." Sapphire said, spreading a wing from where she hung, and the webbing of her wing turned a shimmering blue and purple, flecked with stars. "We think it'll look good."
I smiled and thrummed at Larissa's peck; I knew she would like the sunstone leaf. That's why I grabbed it, just for her.
The A-line dress would be better for moving around, but Olivia was making a good case for the Mermaid shape. I thought about it, thinking.
"Okay, you got me, Olivia. Let's go with the Mermaid." I said, running my fingers over the rich purple and blue fabric she had brought out. "And that sounds like a good combo for the accessories. As for the diamonds, I think tiny stars, varying from little 4 points to 12 points if you can manage it." I said, referring to the 12 pointed star. I think if I ever had to really pick a pantheon, it would be the celestial heavens.
We planned it then. The dress would fit snugly down my form all the way down my frame, rich mottled purples that shimmer with scattered stars all the way. The dress would come up as a one sleeve dress, one arm covered by a draping, elegant sleeve that looks a little bit like a side cape; this would leave the back open for my wings, and it would adapt for my tail if I so choose. Olivia even snuck in a slit along the side of the skirt for my legs, and I couldn't help but smile at that. There would be black wispy clouds making shapes on the sleeve and the bottom hem of the dress, making it seem like a clear midnight sky. On the shoulder, right next to the collar bone would be a stylized crescent moon, carved from Moonstone.
For my hair, I'd have it curled into ringlets to tumble down my back in waves, with a violet silk lotus as a hairpiece, or would I want that to be made out of amethyst and sunstone? Amethyst and Sunstone sound lovely. I wouldn't wear shoes, I think, as I would be in half dragon form for the wedding; instead, a delicate anklets of silver and decorated with amethysts, sapphires and diamond, with stellar angel wings at the ankles.
My jewelry would be silver, sapphire, amethyst and diamonds; I think a armband with draping silver chains down my uncovered arm would be pretty.
When I had come up with the dress and the jewelry and all, Olivia used a hologram to fit it and I nodded. I liked it; I had no doubt that we'd be a sight to see.
