::frowns;: Cathrine, my dear, help an old man stand
::blinks, startled, but she didn't say what she was thinking, that he was perfectly capable of getting around on his own. instead she just went over to him and let him lean heavily on her, not realizing that doing so he held her sholders trapped under his arm::
Kami was it? why is it you have a rather poorly made, fake, lotis bracelet?
what? ::squeaked::

Chris, you must be Chris.::he smiles a true smile then begins laughing::Grandfather said you were something else. Yeah its a fake.::raises his arm letting the gems catch the light for serval moments, lost in thought. Then he reaches to heft sleeve and rolls it up. he pulls on a clip and a braclet that was attached to the inside of one sleeve, keeping it hidden. His real lotis bracelet slides down his left arm, with less gems then the fake::A small bluff goes a long way. The fake looks mor impressive, and if its stolen.... well::he shrugs then chuckles::There are advantages to being a lefty. My sister has one too. and incase somthing ever happened to either of us...we took a vow of silance. neither of us knows for a fact what words the other has discovered and mastered. We practiced with our parents independantly. Mostly father.

::nods a bit:: sometimes, however, it is better for the enemy to underestimate you, rather than over estimate you. are you calm enough for me to let go, Cathrine?
::sighs:: yes papa...

::her eyes widen and for a very short moment, hurt flashes through them before she turns to her grandfather, a look of unbelive replacing the one of hurt:: Papa!
go change, my dear. it's better that you're comfortable while we discuss and i do believe i must give our new guest a quick course in tact... go on now, the tea will be here by the time you're done.
::sighs:: alright... ::shoots a small frown at Kami as she passes him:; behave
: surprised nce she's out of earshot:: you are aware that Cathrine and Torin are new to our world, though i did attempt to raise Cathrine with an awareness of it it

She informed me that like my late mother, she spent a logn time thinking that this was a mear story. And dont expect me to learn tact. My sister got all of the people sence, shes the one like da and grandpa. I got the brains. Got the stubborness too. Granpa used to tell me that I'd meet some one related to alice one time and get my face slapped. Didn't expect it to be your decendeant what did it though. and a lecture from a novice on the power of words. That rankles some. I'm gonna be in a bad mood all day. I keep a funk. Deal with it, its who I am. unless of corse::a frei like grin::You find my sweet spot.::colapses into a chair and leans back some, threatning to topple the chair::
I'm okay...you can let go of me now....
So you're really Nyozeka, huh? taller then advertised. Older too. Ah well whatever. I heard roumer of edables. Im starved. We were heading out for a bite when we felt the presance of a maram master::the chair goes foward again with a loud clack:: She's strong. Her presance radiated. we had to rush as it was and we were only in time to save one of them::he gets a dark look across her face:: between hers and that male...he reaked of untapped power. If she trains him...::shakes his head grimly:: And they kidnapped a barly trained novice. I dont have to tell YOU what could happen, you've studyied not only the generalmpast I assume but also the past of the last set of masters, My grandfathers past. Even if we get that girl's friend back, who knows if we can trust him. I just hope my sister can keep enough of a watch on him. We have to be cautious. From what I've seen... it just mihght break that girl...if he tries to take her life. I wish I could just do this myself, so she won't have to know if he does.. but I wont delude myself into thinking I'm a match for Darva alone. Unless.... can you...::to Chris hesitantly, looking up, hope in his eyes::Can you and Nyozeka....?
I can help you no more then I could Alice and Kyo. Less even. I'm human now. My student is your aid
Wow! I'm actually in this scene!
::smacks her upsdie the head::Be serious!
owwwwwww! ALICE!
Thank you.::primly::

*Kouta sighed and slumped to the ground. The was wood everywhere. Splinters scattered the floor and the chair was in several different locations at once. He still wasn't proficient with the words, but he had managed to move the piece of the chair a couple of times and even managed to shatter one of it's legs. Still, seem like a relatively small accomplishment. Who knows what was happening to Katty while he was wasting time here* Really now...I hope she's alright. *He sighed again and leaned against the wall*

Kin had not relinquished his hold on Torin and (ignoring the conversation going on) smiled down at his younger cousin "Torin relax... your safe here."

::ignoring Zeki and her student arguing, he nods once to Joe to indicate he could let go of Neozeki and go to Charli, something that Chris knew the young man wanted to do. He looks back to Frei's grandson thoughtfully. Like Frei, he was not endearing himself to Neozeka... Still, it had taken many masters to give Alice and Kyo a chance at defeating Darva the last time... And Kami was right, Torin in the wrong hands was indeed a very bad thing. The boy wavering badly enough, with the wrong influences and all could very well be lost. He knew that Charli would, indeed, be heartbroken if she ever had to fight against her new friend, but Chris couldn't help but think that Kami was underestimating Charli's will and strength. Chris knew that in a pinch his granddaughter could be nearly coldly practical... And that his beloved grandaugher would much rather suffer in silence then allow anyone see she was hurting to begin with... But none of this needed to be said out loud, so instead he commented on earlier points:: tea will be served shortly, and you are welcome to remain for dinner. As it was for your grandfather, Alice, and Kyo, my home is open to yoy. As for my kitten's disbelife in the lotis words... ::and here he hesitated. Surely explaining this one bit will do no harm:: she believed once, when she was just a child, but before I could begin training her as I wished, my son and his wife, Kitten's mother and father, died. It was a touch hard on her and I believe she was of the mind that if Lotis words couldn't save two of the most important people to her, then she wanted nothing of it, as it surely wasn't real. She never truely stopped believing, however, or she would not have excepted everything that she has as easilly as she has.
::meanwhile, in her room, Charli was quickly changing out of her school uniform and into jeans and a t-shirt. She used the time to calm herself. So far she'd behaved completely out of character for her. She'd slapped a boy, she'd frowned, even glared at him! She knew why she'd lost control over herself, why she'd shown emotions other than her usual perkiness. She was furious with herself for failing to save Torin, and part of her blamed this new boy. Part of her wailed that if he hadn't held her back, she could have saved Torin! But a larger part knew that she peobably would have been pulled in with Torin, and then they both would have needed saving. This larger part knew that she had to convience herself that Kami was not be blamed, or else those negative feelings would be used against her. Now, more than ever, it was important that she forgive and let go of any and all grievences before they can be turned against her.now, more than ever, it was important that she not let anyone see too far under the surface cheer, so despite every nerve screaming at her to hurry! Save Torin! She took the time to brush then french braid her hair to keep it out of her face, using the time and movements to calm herself of that last little irritableness, to steal herself for the worst Kami could throw at her. She raced out of he room and intercepted Joe, helping a maid carry a couple trays of tea and treats, in the hall. After taking the tray from the maid, she carried it to the lingroom just as Chris had finished speaking but before Kami could react. Giving them all her most cheerful smile. She chirpped:: we come bearing food and drink! : surprised f course, there was nothing sweet among the refreashments....yet::

Torin glared "What do you mean safe?? You brought me to the people who want to KILL me... at least according to Kotaba they are. The're talking about Maram words.. and apparently those are bad. I'm supposed to say Lotis words... a dumb name if you ask me but hey.. I didn't name them. I don't even WANT to be this Lotis master thingy.. which is a bunch of... bull if you ask me. I mean magic words? But they said grandma and grandpa could do that Lotis stuff and... Kin what IS going on???"

Having only understood a fraction of what he was babbling about Kin blinked at him and grasped his shoulders lightly "Breathe Torin... breathe. Now Yura said she wouldn't hurt you. I've been planning on this for awhile.. you needed to get out of that house. I promise nothing bad will happen.. you trust me don't you?"

Kin got a nice warm feeling.. and had to restrain himself from pouncing on Torin when he said that. Settling for a smirk he patted Torins head gently "Don't worry its my job to look after you not the other way around. Despite what your parents may have made you believe.. your NOT a servant! Understand?"
