1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?
Flann nodded thoughtfully. "Fewer travelers, and the weather's poorer, but the leaves are bonny, and ye feel connected wi' the world around ye."
2.) What is your favorite season?
Flann paused, thinking it over. "I think there's somethin' tae every season: Winter's quiet, but the snow is pretty; the flooers of spring are bonny, and the world feels alive again; summer is filled wi' summer travelers; autumn's leaves and how one feels in tune wi' the turning of the world...there's somethin' for everyone. Probably autumn, or spring."

"If I can get some time, I would gae wi' my mate and my goat, Una, tae the fair the Flutters hae in the summer."
4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?

Owner's Name: ~Latonia de la Courtel~
Participating Soquili: Tsís'ná
Link to Teepee: [Here]

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?
Tsís'ná gives an agreeable nod, her expression open and pleasant. "I am very much looking to autumn, to cooler weather and the crisp edge that the air takes on as time slips toward winter. It can't come soon enough!"
2.) What is your favorite season?
The spirited mare gives a soft snort and a flick of her tail, ears flicking in contemplation. "I'm not sure if winter or autumn wins that contest, they're both vastly appealing over summer. I suppose if I am thinking of a singular favorite, I would pick autumn over winter... The snow can be somewhat limiting, so autumn for the sake of the discussion."
3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?
"I think I would prefer to avoid many of the fiercely hot days, and explore more early in the day or late in the evening." Tsís'ná replied with a slight glance at the weather around her. "Though in the rains, it isn't too terribly bad."
4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?
"Well, the days are longer so I suppose more can be done? If one can avoid the heat, there's more time to do things before nightfall... That's appealing to me."
5.) What did you hate the most about summer?
The mostly-dark mare gives a squinty-eyed look toward the brightness of the day and sighs. "The heat, most definitely. It's even worse on a dark hide, but if there's no breeze it is brutal even in the shade or for the lightest of Soquili."
6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?
"Well, often enough I find the shade and breeze is good if you can get in a place where both of them in a high concentration.. But on a fierce summer day there's either cave of the mountains for escapes... Or wading into either a river or lake, or into the waves of the sea if one is close enough. Water, or elevation changes are the best to evade the heat."

Owner's Name: ~Latonia de la Courtel~
Participating Soquili: Lilavati Tondra
Link to Teepee: [Here]

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?
"Well, I have to admit I like Winter and Spring a little bit more than Autumn, but since it will be a little cooler than summer, I do look forward to a bit of a break from the heat. The weather has been frightfully warm as of late, and I can't blame many of the others that would rather be low-key when the sun is high."
2.) What is your favorite season?
"Oh," The silver tapir dancer hummed, tilting her head slightly. "I would have to say Spring is my favorite. I like the cooler weather and the way it feels like new beginnings, I like everything blooming and all of the baby animals appearing and... How there might be a little bit of snow in the highlands but it's melting away to reveal new growth and everything is sweet and green and song-filled."
3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?
"There are a few summer's end bonfire parties held by various groups? My friends have organized a few. They plan to roast some tasty snacks, and have a big bonfire for the party to dance and tell stories around... It should be quite enjoyable."
4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?
The amethyst and silver mare laughs, shimmying enough to send all her adornments to chiming. "Is it strange to say the summer parties? My friends know how to have a good time!"
5.) What did you hate the most about summer?
"If I've already admitted to liking the parties and the summer nights... I suppose the heat of the summer days is the biggest problem I have with the season? Some of us aren't built for baking in the sun."
6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?
"Oh I definitely like a trip to the waterfalls or the river." Lila agrees quickly. "In fact, I think I'll head there now. If you'll excuse me?"

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?
Tonatiuh gives a somewhat disappointed sigh, shaking his head. "As nice as fall is, I'm afraid that summer is my favorite season and I'm a little disappointed to bid it farewell."
2.) What is your favorite season?
The stallion gave a rumbling laugh and a shrug, flicking his tail. "Summer, by far and wide. Spring and autumn are nice enough but... Long summer days, and celebrations by the water. That's the best."
3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?
"Soak up every minute that we have remaining, I suppose?" He gives a grin and a toss of his head. "All the summer activities possible."
4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?
"I'm a fan of the heat and the sun... of the long days, and the activities that occur. Summer usually means bonfire parties, tiki events, parties on the beach. It's a good time, who wouldn't love that?"
5.) What did you hate the most about summer?
"There's no hate in me for summer," Tonatiuh countered. "Summer's great! Maybe the biting flies can be a problem in the meadows? But I stay closer to the coast in this weather, and it's not a problem."
6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?
"To the sea, to the sea," Tonatiuh said in a sing-song tone, chuckling brightly. "I'll wade right into the ocean, play in the surf... walk in until my hooves barely touch the sand and swim. The Kelpi and Seathi are usually fun to play with, there's no chance I can beat them at a race but it's still fun to try! You should give it a go."

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?
The flutter stallion gives a surprised look at the question, but then smiles. "Well, yes, I suppose so? Autumn is a nice season, one of transition and change... Things end and begin, harvests happen. It's good."
2.) What is your favorite season?
"I do like spring quite a bit? There's something to be said for everything still being somewhat cool but green, with flowers and a little bit of snow and... It's perfect, don't you think?"
3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?
"Nothing really specific comes to mind. I'll do my best to enjoy the summer as it is, and enjoy what events happen now... And I hope to do the same in autumn."
4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?
"Mostly my favorite about any season is the time I spend with friends, so there's not one thing that really stands out about the summer... If I'm being honest, I'll get a nap when it's very hot, if I can.. To avoid the warmest hours of the day."
5.) What did you hate the most about summer?
"Nothing to hate about a season, I'll just do my best to go elsewhere if I am not enjoying something about my surroundings. If it's too hot, there are caves to go exploring in, for example. Try that, rather than hating the season?"
6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?
"Well, have you ever taken a nap in a field of flowers? Flutters can usually get away with sleeping in a flower, and when that sways in the breeze you stay pretty cook."

Owner's Name: ~Latonia de la Courtel~
Participating Soquili: Mahiz Indurata Vesihiisi "Hiss"
Link to Teepee: [Here]

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?
The stallion frequently called Hiss made a delighted snorting noise and nodded his head emphatically. "I truly am. Autumn is my sister's favorite season and I would like to think she'll be easier to find at the ensuing festivals and events."
2.) What is your favorite season?
"Well they all have their charm? But late fall and early winter are probably the best in my mind. I like the harvests and the bounty of food it provides... but I also like the bite of cold, the crunch of leaves underfoot and the hint of snow on the wind."
3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?
"Well I wouldn't mind attending another summer festival... The locals around here really know how to throw a good party. Have you been? There's food and games and new friends to meet... Music and stories. It's great!"
4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?
"There are lots of games and events and things, don't you think? I've seen summertime faires with things to help you stay cool, water and beach parties... Special treats, or trips to the caves or into the mountains in pursuit of the cold... And if you like the heat there are even more games and events and picnics... That part has been really interesting."
5.) What did you hate the most about summer?
"Well I'm glad I don't have a dark coat to worry about soaking up all the sun... But the flies are pretty bad, unbearably so. Thankfully I've made some new friends that make a reduction of herbs that you can pour on, or get coronets and things of braided herbs... That helps to keep the bitey pests at bay. I'm very grateful for it."
6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?
Hiss tilted his head thoughtfully at this last question, then perked up. "Actually, I was recently at a Faire that had what they were calling sheered ice? It was chips of ice with different flavorings poured over it and stuff added on... Some of it included mashed fruit and a sugared or honey beverage.. All in all it was delicious. That's probably the best way to cool off in the heat."

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?

Yes. The skull requires considerably more explanation in the summer months than it does during the rest of the year.

2.) What is your favorite season?

Fall. My job gets harder in the snow, you understand. Plus, spring is muddy.

3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?

There's a certain mare I wouldn't mind happening to run into again...though I suppose that's not dependent on the season. I'd like to get to the ocean, perhaps.

4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?

Meeting a few new Soquili. It was a breath of fresh air, and I appreciated each interaction.

5.) What did you hate the most about summer?

Hot. Too. Hot. Oh and also almost dying. That wasn't exactly fun.

6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?

Swimming! I love to swim, and then let the sun dry me off. I get very fluffy!

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?

Yes, I suppose. I like the sun being out so much, and I don't look forward to shorter days.

2.) What is your favorite season?

Spring. I like when all the plants come back to life.

3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?

I'd like to go for a long hike, I think.

4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?

...I helped save someone's life. That was very important.

5.) What did you hate the most about summer?

I met full Kalonas for the first time. Terrifying.

6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?

I prefer to stay in the shade and avoid getting hot in the first place.

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?

I mean...I guess. I like summer better, though - it's too easy to get depressed in the darker months.

2.) What is your favorite season?

Summer. I like the sunshine.

3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?

I have a sudden interest in herbology and plants in general. I feel like I should know more about how they work, especially as a flutter.

4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?

Honestly? Getting away from my dad for a little bit. It was nice to relax...I think. I can't really remember all the details, but I'm pretty sure I had a good time.

5.) What did you hate the most about summer?

Fighting with my dad. But that's not unique to summer, so...

6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?

Going flutter-size and hiding out in a tree or a cool little flower. Lots more places to cool down when you're tiny than when you're a big horse tromping through everything.

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?

Yes!!! I love watching the leaves change!!!

2.) What is your favorite season?

I love all of them!! No, really, I do! Every time I think I can pick a favorite the next one rolls through and I'm sure that that one's really my favorite. They're all the best.

3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?

Hmmm....think there are any good cool springs around here? Might be nice to kinda relax for a change!

4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?

All the exploring me and Matthi did!

5.) What did you hate the most about summer?

Fighting with my son. Nobody likes to fight, and it was a bad one. We'll make up soon though, we always do!

6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?

Ice!!! Cronching it, stomping it, getting a bath with it. Brrrrr, but in a good way!

1.) Summer is almost over! Are you looking forward to autumn?

Without a doubt. The turning of the seasons is fascinating to witness from a botanical point of view.

2.) What is your favorite season?

Anything but winter, when almost all of my plants and growing things are asleep or dead. Also, it's cold.

3.) Is there anything you want to do before summer ends?

Harvest a few more seeds to save them for next year, and work on crossbreeding a few of my flowers, if only to see if such a thing is possible.

4.) What was your favorite thing about summer?

Spending time in the greenhouse. We had an exceptionally strong season this year.

5.) What did you hate the most about summer?

Bugs. While some are necessary for growth, like bees, there are others that hurt my plants, and some that annoy me. I am grateful for the bats and other animals that eat mosquitos, especially.

6.) What is your favorite way to cool off from the heat?

I thrive in the heat. Those who run from nature instead of adapting to it are doomed to weakness.

1.) Gotta go fast! Do you like to run? Running is fine, I suppose, but I much prefer to fly. I do like to get a running start before I take off, though, because I do gotta go fast.

2.) They say slow and steady wins the race. Do you think that's true? Objectively it is not true. If you are slow, you will not win against someone who is fast. What you need to be is fast and strategic, fast and careful. Too many people mistake 'fast' for 'careless'.

3.) Your friend is hosting a thirty mile marathon, and you decide to join. Bob runs at eight miles per hour and Sally runs at seven miles per hour, but Bob slows down by 32% halfway through the race, and Sally speeds up by 10% in the last five miles. At the fifteen mile mark, everyone stops for a drink of water and some apples for thirty minutes. How many apples do you eat? Two. And I don't stop for thirty minutes to do it, either!

Participating Soquili: Ofelia

1.) Gotta go fast! Do you like to run?
Yes! It can be so incredibly freeing! When I need to think, I find running as fast as I can for as long as I can is very helpful for clearing my mind and allowing me to focus on whatever I need to consider.

2.) They say slow and steady wins the race. Do you think that's true?
I think the steadiness is the key part here. Consistent energy spent on growing is better than fits and spurts of intense effort inconsistently.

3.) Your friend is hosting a thirty mile marathon, and you decide to join. Bob runs at eight miles per hour and Sally runs at seven miles per hour, but Bob slows down by 32% halfway through the race, and Sally speeds up by 10% in the last five miles. ...What? I do not do math. Who has the time?

1.) Gotta go fast! Do you like to run?

It can be enjoyable from time to time, but I don't think frenetic, frantic energy is helpful to anyone, honestly.

2.) They say slow and steady wins the race. Do you think that's true?

I would rather do it slow and right than fast and wrong, so...I guess so?

3.) Your friend is hosting a thirty mile marathon, and you decide to join. Bob runs at eight miles per hour and Sally runs at seven miles per hour, but Bob slows down by 32% halfway through the race, and Sally speeds up by 10% in the last five miles. At the fifteen mile mark, everyone stops for a drink of water and some apples for thirty minutes. How many apples do you eat?

About half as many as I want, so I don't throw up at the end of the 30 minutes.

Participating Soquili: Cirro Strata

1.) Gotta go fast! Do you like to run?

No. It's exhausting. I would love a slow amble, but having children means that you're running more than you'd like to be regardless, so...

2.) They say slow and steady wins the race. Do you think that's true?

In all ways except for a literal race, yes.

I would never participate in a marathon. I have other things to do. However, I do love apples, so I would have at least three, I think.

1.) Gotta go fast! Do you like to run?

Yes! These little legs can go as fast as the full-sized Soquili can!

2.) They say slow and steady wins the race. Do you think that's true?

I think it can be. When you go too fast, it's easier to make mistakes and hurt yourself or others. Slow and steady is calm and correct, but someone going fast is objectively going to be more likely to win a race than someone going slowly.

As many as I can! It takes a lot of apples to win a marathon!

1.) What is intelligence to you? Well, there's book-smarts, right? And that's not me. But there's also like...knowing people. I don't know if that's me either. And there's knowing what to do in situations. That's probably definitely not me. So...I guess intelligence is, to me, pretty foreign. Haha.

2.) What kinds of things do you do to nurture your intelligence?

Mostly I try to listen to people who are smarter than me. You can't do that if you're talking all the time, which is hard for me to remember. I'm really trying. There's a lot of really smart people out there if you give 'em a chance to teach you something.

3.) How important is intelligence?

Not as important as heart, I think.

2.) What kinds of things do you do to nurture your intelligence? Stories. Stories of all kinds - true, fiction, and otherwise. You can learn so much from stories. I have to stay sharp, in all ways. I meditate. I learn from my mistakes. I learn from the mistakes of others.
3.) How important is intelligence? Probably the most important? Intelligence is the key to everything, in some way or another. Knowing what you have and knowing what to do with it...and knowing what matters. I think intelligence is key.
