Wailmer was once more in her sights and she narrowed in on the one that she wanted before she dipped the paper net into the water. She started to nudge the pokemon that she was trying to get when her net broke. Dumuzi gave a defeated sigh. Oh man, this just not her day. She thanked the vender for her ticket and added it to the pile of tickets that she had. She supposed that tomorrow was another day and that she could hopefully have a change of fortune then.

Huey hopped over to the next source of entertainment, which just so happened to be the Wailmer game. Instead of allowing Dutch to play he tried his hand at the fishing game, which far better than even he had truly expected. The young boy stared down at the water's surface, his reflection showing the determination on his face: his mouth set into a firm line. "Alright!" he could do this, he could totally do this. Just fist out a pokemon that weighed more than he did with a tiny paper net. It was absolutely doable. "You're going to hurt yourself." Tybalt warned as he stepped up to his trainer, his face scrunched up in concern. "Just let Dutch try. If you end up breaking something we'll have to go back home, and then you won't even be able to continue on your journey." he pouted at the pokemon's sound logic, looked down at the water once more, and handed the net over to Dutch.
The Granbull made the motions of rolling up his sleeves before he took the net, rolling the handle between his fingers before he dipped it into the water. A jerky swipe to the left, an under scoop, and a large tug upwards and out popped a Wailmer, whose wide-eyed expression and wild flapping of the fins revealed it was just as surprised to be caught as Huey. The latter's shock didn't last soon, however, and was melted away by his excitement and joy. "Yet another one, Dutch!" his cheering was drowned out by Dutch's chorus of guffaws, which continued on even as the, now irritated, Wailmer doused him with water from its blowhole. Unfortunately for it the little water show didn't dampen his spirits, nor loosen his grip on the net, and he held the pokemon captive until Huey was given his 100 tickets.

They were clearly delinquents, and had no trouble pinning Aston as their target. Fortunately, they're "old man" insults didn't bother him. He knew he was up there in age. However, one of them commented he was way too old to be a trainer, and that caught Nachtigal's attention. The Piplup woke up and jumped down, glaring at the three boys and giving them a Piplup lecture."Looks like Nachtigal wants to fight." "That puny thing? He wouldn't stand a chance." ✿ ❀ Isis stuck out her tongue a bit at Dumuzi as the girl teased, saying it was good Isis had accepted her plan for working out family issues cause she wasn't going to budge on that one. Leon seemed disappointed that he'd missed their crazy dance off, but he was probably right in that his cotton eyed joe would have been beat. Still Isis would have loved to see him attempt that particular dance. Kai then grumbled in a speaking tone, making gestures to indicate that he thought his dancing was pretty good too. "Haha~ Of course, how could we forget the amazing worm belly flops that Kai did. I think Kai wins honestly." Isis gave a light applause, sure that Dumuzi would agree to concede to the groovy gator. She then asked Leon for a dance, now that her date was back and she had caught her breath after the dance off with Du and Kai.
Isis certainly didn't expect any serious dancing, and yet that was what Leon did. Isis chuckled as Leon pointed out Isis' surprise and shook her head. "I've gotta admit, I really didn't. Not from the dorky goofball threatening us with a cotton eyed joe. But, the surprise is not unwelcome." Isis' lips twitched up in a grin before asking when he'd learned, and Leon explained that it was probably his Italian roots. Isis giggled at that, shaking her head because she knew he was just showing off, though blushed as he once again referred to her as his "little muffin" in Italian. Leon did admit, however, that he'd had some practice lessons and liked to dance as one way to keep in shape. Isis grinned at that. "So do you take those Zumba classes or something?" She asked curiously, laughing at the thought of Leon pulling those funny moves in a class like that. Those classes did honestly look fun though, Isis had tried it once or twice before, but her job had kept her pretty busy and on the go.
The two swept back closer to where Theo and Dumuzi were talking, having dipped near and away a few times while Isis listened to fragments of the conversation. This time as they drew near however, the song they were dancing to faded off to an end, and everyone clapped for the band. Isis gave a small curtsy to Leon, or rather attempted it and found that it was really hard to curtsy in a Yukata, so she gave a small bow instead. She then heard Dumuzi talking to Theo, something about how they weren't outcasting him. What? Did Theo really think that? Isis halted her dance with Leon for a moment and continued to listen in, for now the conversation had grabbed her attention. Dumuzi pointed out that when Theo didn't actually converse with them, it made it harder to include him, and when they did try to involve him, he got all huffy. She continued to explain how he could have brought up another topic, anything he wanted to talk about particularly. She had good points, honestly that's how Isis felt too, and she wasn't sure why Theo kept acting standoffish ever since they'd come to this island. The first break from that was when he tried to rejoin them, which Isis welcomed with open arms, though she did excuse herself and Leon so she could enjoy spending some time dancing with her date.
However, Dumuzi's comments seemed to somehow be the straw that broke the Camerupt's back, as Theo started to argue angrily with Du, asking rhetorical questions like it was okay for Isis and Leon to disregard him when he said he didn't want advice, but if he ignored them for ignoring him, it wasn't okay. Isis narrowed her eyes. This wasn't looking pretty, and she didn't like the way Theo was treating Dumuzi. She stormed over, listening as Theo continued, asking if it occurred to her that he didn't know how to jump into a conversation that was all about her or the romantic life between Isis and Leon without looking bad. One bad argument after the other. "Hey!" Isis snapped, moving between Dumuzi and Theo. "If you have an issue with Leon and I, then you talk to us, don't start snapping at Dumuzi. I don't see how I disregarded your request to let you figure things out on your own. The ONLY advice I gave was for you to be careful about depending too much on books. After that, I asked questions. I was curious how far in your career you had gotten; I ask every trainer the same things, badges, battles, gym challenges, pokemon caught... Heck I even asked you about Tyvia, and then I offered to battle you because I thought it might be fun and give you experience of your own, which is what you wanted! I thought it was a great idea, and you just blew it off and ignored me. Yes I was concerned for the way you were going about your journey, but you wanted to figure it out on your own so I wasn't going to say anything, so please excuse me for caring! What part of anything I did, in any way, shape, or form, was giving advice? Elaborate on that, because I'd like to know. And yet you wonder why you're the bad guy for blowing me off. Bah!" Isis growled.
She was so mad she could spit. Was this really his reasoning for acting the way he had been? It was a pity, he seemed like a nice kid at first. It was clear Isis had completely misjudged him. "And another thing, if you wanted so badly to change the subject, you could have asked, actually, and I wouldn't have thought any less of you for it. I like talking to people, about anything and everything. If I don't have anything to offer in someone else's conversation, I listen and learn, and add in or branch off when I can. In fact, Dumuzi gave you the perfect opportunity to talk when she mentioned you had been quiet for a while ,and tried to include you in the conversation. "Fire away!" I said, I encouraged you to talk too. I was completely open and ready. You could have asked or said anything you wanted, and it didn't just have to be about battles, so really, you have no excuses. I even asked you a few things, about Tyvia, about training, and Leon answered questions you had about the islands. You, however, answered a few questions I had, and then you left without explanation." Isis threw her hands in the air. She just didn't now how to make the situation any more clear, but Theo obviously didn't see how he was in error. He would much rather blame everyone else for his own shortcomings and put on blinders to what actually occurred.
For a moment, Isis softened, took a breath, and tried to calm her head, because yelling wasn't the answer, but Theo did need a good verbal smack to wake him up, in Isis' opinion, she she'd gotten that out of her system and retracted for a moment. "Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not perfect, and I got really excited when Du mentioned being a coordinator... but that's my job. I work for a coordinating magazine, I get excited about these things, I want to talk about them and share tips, so I'm sorry if you felt left out of that when I focused on her, but I did try to talk to you, and it just felt like I got nothing but scorn in return. So yeah, if I get the silent treatment for offering up a fun battle, and you won't even talk to me face to face about why you're angry all of a sudden, then I'm gonna get frustrated and leave you alone because it becomes apparent that you really don't feel like talking." Isis explained in a slightly more patient voice then before.
It irked Isis even more that he didn't even really seem to want to be here, especially since he only came because he figured it was the lesser of two evils. "You know, we came here to dance because it's fun, and you didn't have to dance if you really didn't want to, obviously, but you could have at least tried it first. You might have liked it, or had fun! But no, you decided you'd rather not. No wonder you lost your date to a Feraligatr. You want to talk about outcasting? You outcasted yourself from us, not the other way around." Isis huffed, crossing her arms. She didn't walk away, she was fully willing and able to listen to Theo try and counter her points so they could talk this out. Harboring anger wasn't healthy, and if they had to get it all out now to clear the air, then that's what they could do. ✿ ❀
