Merrick shifted his weight fractionally, lightly bumping Constance's hip playfully. "I don't know if you have anything back in your room or not, but I have what I need," he murmured in her ear.

Kasumi shrugged before she vanished in a gust of air.

Lorcán cocked an eyebrow, managing to keep himself from sticking his tongue out in a juvenile way. "Hey, at least we had Merida wake you up instead of Kasumi," he said lightly.

Jess shrugged. "We can go whenever you're ready, though preferably we should start off before nightfall," she advised.

Constance chuckled and shook her head. "I don't need to get anything." She looked up at Merrick with a smile. "You're all I need to take with me," she said softly to him before giving him a light kiss. "Oh that was so thoughtful of you," Carolyn drawled as she walked towards the door. "I'll meet you guys back here in a few minutes. There's something that I have to do before we go.""I don't think I need to get anything," Merida said with a shake of her head. "Me either. We'll wait on the others here I guess." Amelia said with a small smile. "How about you, Lorcan?" Cassandra asked as she smiled at him. "Need to get anything before we go?" As she spoke she pulled her hair into her hands, twisted it and let it fall over one shoulder.

Jess blinked as a shiver of awareness shot down her spine before she unconsciously rolled forward into the room in one fluid motion, barely evading the creepy black serrated blade that sheared through the cloak as her hand dropped to the braided leather sling hanging from her hip as she twisted, sliding to a stop near Merida and Amelia. She saw a strange, almost skeletal creature with lean muscle under dark bluish black skin though its ragged loincloth did little to hide its form. It wore only black greaves on its thin ankles and bracers on its forearms which hid nothing of its clawed fingernails and toenails. It's grin was disturbing, like that of a wild animal under its black armored blindfold that hid its eyes. -_-_-_-_-_-_- -_-_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán shrugged. "I have what I need," he said quietly. He tilted his head with a slight frown before he saw Merrick tense as the shaggy haired girl's cloak was suddenly shredded in half as the girl rolled into the room stopping a few feet from Merida and Amelia. He noticed the demon moments later as his eyes widened fractionally, shifting into the four narrow silvery gray rings in his irises as his hand snapped up, two words flashing from his lips in a low tone. "Shinra Tensei," he murmured. The demon jerked, slamming into the wall hard across the hall though its foot and a half serrated sword flew straight towards him. -_-_-_- Merrick shifted his weight as he pulled away from Constance, feeling a shudder of energy surge up his spine, the nodaichi unsheathing as he moved in one fluid movement, the nodaichi spinning in his grasp as ripples of intensely heated air both deflected and sheared through the demonic sword before his gauntleted hand snatched the last few inches of blade and hilt. "So we both have unusual tricks, eh, Lorcán?" he said quietly as his eyes shifted forms before his gauntleted hand snapped forward in one sudden movement, an enlarged spectral double gripping the demon by the head before he clenched his fist sharply as the demon snarled before its head crunched an instant before it exploded in dull gray ash as its body dissolved into dusty smoke that faded away. "Seems they're drawn to strong magic. Perhaps it's wise if Jess leads some of us to where we need to go while the rest of us wait for Carolyn and Okāsan," he said carefully, not really noticing as the hilt gained a faint dark purple aura before it dissolved into ash as the aura was absorbed by his gauntleted hand.

Things had happened so fast that Constance didn't have time to react. Suddenly Jess was in the room near Merida and Amelia, and there was a demon in the doorway. Lorcan and Merrick then worked together, getting rid of it. Her mouth hung open in shock. The magic protecting this place must have really worn down for all these demons to be getting in. But then again, maybe that was their fault. Everyone in the room was full of strong magic. Cassandra shuddered a little after the demon was gone. As Merrick spoke she gave a small nod, walking towards Lorcan's side. "Let's do this. How about myself, Lorcan, Amelia and Merida go with Jess right now and you and Constance come with Carolyn and Kasumi?" Her gaze was on Merrick. "Yes, I think that would be wisest," Amelia said with a nod. "Maybe it will ease the demons coming here. I am sure the others in this building will be relieved. I am sure they can feel the tension.""Well if we're gonna do this, let's get moving," Merida said softly as she watched Constance and Merrick. They were strong on their own, but much stronger when they were together. She had seen it several times since the two had met. "You two take care of each other and get those two to get a move on. The faster you guys get to where we need to be, the better."

Jess shivered, not having encountered anything like that before. She knew her voice was somewhat shaken when she spoke. "That would be a wise idea... but how do we know that there aren't more of those... things outside?" she said quietly. -_-_-_-_-_-_- Kasumi jerked as she shifted, sliding the two inch diameter scroll into the sheath so it rested horizontally at the small of her back. Her eyes flashed to where the others were before she vanished in a gust of mist and dust, materializing just behind Merida.-_-_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán tilted his head, his still ringed irises flashing to Cassandra when she spoke. -_-_-_- Merrick shifted his weight. "Perhaps it would be best to have either Constance or myself in one group and the other in the other group; it'll give us a reason to hurry and it'll also give both groups a strong offensive fighter if necessary," he proposed. It was then that he noticed Kasumi standing behind Merida, though neither Kitsune spoke as Kasumi casually and lightly tapped Merida on the shoulder with her forefinger and middle finger.

Merida was about to answer Merrick when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She didn't jump or spin around quickly. She figured she knew who it was. Slowly she turned and grinned at Kasumi. "Nice of you to join us again. We were just talking about you." She raised an eyebrow slightly. She found she was already settling back into the rhythm of Kasumi trying to startle her, and not succeeding. "Why are we gonna travel in different groups?" Carolyn asked as she entered the room and looked around at everyone. "I think it would be better if we just stuck together.""Well I suppose since we are all here now..." Constance said as she looked around at everyone before her gaze settled on Carolyn. "And we were talking about going separately because another demon showed up. We thought since we had to wait for you and Kasumi to gather some things it would be best if some of us went ahead...see if it eased the attacks.""Well we're all here now. How about we go?" Carolyn said with a small shrug.

Jess grinned as she shifted her shoulders. "Then I'll lead us down; it's easiest to use the back alleys to the gateway and faster," she said with amusement. -_-_-_-_-_-_- Kasumi grinned, not seeming to be bothered by the fact she'd been caught. "It's fortunate the hunters don't know how to employ high speed movement, otherwise, she lightly shifted the knife that rested on the back of Merida's neck. "They could strike without us knowing it, and that awareness you have will save your life," she said, her tone remaining even the entire time save for a slight stress near the end.-_-_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán blinked when he saw the knife Kasumi had and wondered when she'd drawn it and how she'd hidden it; it was obvious she was extremely skilled with knives and likely combat using them. -_-_-_- Merrick shifted his weight before he smiled faintly. He felt his mother tense as her gaze shifted back to where he stood just behind her with a knife close to the side of her neck. "We have to remain keenly aware of our surroundings at all times, if you get a sense of something wrong, react, don't warn anyone," he said flatly as he sheathed the knife. Kasumi grinned as if she were proud of him. "Very impressive using a replacement trick with a duplicate to throw me off," she said with amusement to her son as she sheathed her knife on the underside of her forearm.

"Oh such a bunch of show offs." Merida teased as she moved away from Kasumi and Merrick. She didn't show that their quickness unnerved her. "Come on, let's get out of this place. It's stressing me out, and I do not liked being stressed. I am sure you guys don't like to see me stressed either."Constance couldn't help but chuckle at how Kasumi and Merrick were. They were both fast, both able to do wondrous things. "Come on, let's get going," she said with a small laugh. "Trust me we don't want to be around a stressed out Merida. She gets...angry.""Angry?" Cassandra snorted and shook her head as her hand rested lightly on Lorcan's arm. "She gets just plain nasty."Merida rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at them as she followed after Jess. Amelia chuckled softly as she and Nala followed after them. This should be interesting indeed.

Merrick tilted his head as he shifted his weight, walking close to Constance. "You are so damned beautiful, and I have no doubt someone goes after someone you care about... the phrase 'boot in a**' would be a serious understatement,"he said with amusement as he shifted his weight, not seeming to notice how the nodaichi hung opposite the large serrated sword over his shoulders.

Kasumi shrugged slightly, cocking her head. "It could be worse... beleive me; when it comes to my temper... well, let's just say the word 'duck' would be one hell of an understatement and it wouldn't work very well," she said wryly with a slight shrug as she walked out of the door.

Lorcán tilted his head as he walked after Jess. He tilted his head with a faint smile as he glanced out of the door. He wasn't surprised when Kat darted close after Kasumi.

Jess walked quickly to an elevator that went straight down to the loading docks that was large enough to hold the entire group. She knew Hobbs would be waiting for them. "Believe me, you'll recognize the abbey from a distance when you see it; it's very distinctive," she said with amusement.

Constance grinned at Merrick as they walked side by side. "You know, I love the compliments you give me." She gave him a kiss on the cheek. She was glad to be able to go somewhere with everyone that would keep the demons away...hopefully. Cassandra had a small smile on her face as they made their way to the loading docks. It would be nice to see the abbey again. It had been a while. She pushed a strand of hair from her face. Carolyn walked behind the rest of them, her eyes darting back and forth. She was making sure that nothing jumped out at them. Being here was making her jumpy. Now that they knew the demons could get in somehow. When they were done training, they would have to place stronger protection spells around the building.

Merrick tilted his head as he shifted his weight, bumping Constance gently. "Compliments? They aren't compliments if you have no doubt they're true," he said quietly, lightly running his fingertips from her hamstring up to her shoulder along her spine. -_-_-_-_-_- Kasumi tilted her head, her eyes unconsciously scanning around cautiously. She grinned as she had an idea. "You know, Carolyn, I think I know a technique that would make it extremely difficult, if not impossible for demons or hunters to get through... though placing it is the tricky part... with luck I may be able to spread the barrier as far as a half block away from the hotel so they wouldn't be able to get near here," she said thoughtfully.-_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán tilted his head at the small smile Cassandra had. "Have you been to this abbey she's talking about? She mentioned some of the group had been there, but not whom," he said quietly. -_-_-_-_-_- Jess shifted as the elevator started downward steadily. She shifted her weight subtly, feeling her skin warm and tense as she shifted her weight subtly.

"Well that would make me conceited, wouldn't it? If I thought myself beautiful?" Constance smiled and then shivered a little as Merrick ran his fingers over her spine. If there was nobody else in the elevator with them then Constance would not have remained motionless by his side. So many thoughts were flying through her head. Carolyn's gaze went to Kasumi and she gave the other woman a small nod. "Well when we get back maybe you can do this technique you speak of." She smiled a little. Cassandra's gaze went up to Lorcan and she smiled, giving a small nod of her head. "Once or twice."

Merrick snickered softly. "Doubtful, especially with your looks... conceited isn't a word I'd use, more along the lines of 'confident and secure' with yourself," he said quietly with amusement.

Kasumi shrugged one shoulder. "It's a sealing barrier known as Gofū Kekkai that employs five seal tags that would have to be removed simultaneously... and even if they managed that, the seal would create a dupicate with precisely thirty percent of the original's strength," she said with amusement. "The best part is that if the seals were removed one at a time, not only would they explode, killing whoever managed to get to them while binding the barrier permanently, they would also trigger a minor seal that tracks anyone with similar energy signatures within a ten yard range," she said with amusement.

Constance chuckled softly and her smile widened when she saw Hobbs waiting for them. Her gaze then went back to Merrick's. "It's because of you that I am much more confident of myself. You just bring it out in me."Carolyn grinned as Kasumi described the spell and what it would do. "Hmm, I like it." She said with a nod of her head. She pulled back her hair into a ponytail as she spoke. "That will give any demon a good swift kick in the a**."Cassandra just smiled at Lorcan. She had never mentioned to anyone that she knew about the abbey and how to get there. There was a lot more to her than a lot of people knew. "Yes, let's go," Amelia said as she stepped out of the elevator with Nala. A strand of hair fell into her face and her nose twitched as it slightly tickled her. She pushed it out of the way.

Merrick stepped out of the elevator, offering his hand to help Constance though he knew it wasn't necessary. "I doubt that, though it doesn't hurt," he said thoughtfully.

Kasumi chuckled with a half smile. "More like a kick in the balls, since the tags I already have prepared also have a much nastier surprise in trip seals that'll act as traps if they try to trip the barrier that way," she said with a grin.

Lorcán simply walked alongside Cassandra; he found it quite amusing how Constance and Merrick were. He followed Hobbs into the alley, though he found it interesting that no demons seemed interested in trying to hunt them on the route they were taking.

Jess and Hobbs led the way towards the gateway to a little known land closely linked to the 'human' world. "So you're thinking of dropping by for the Autumn Feast, eh, lad?" he said as he glanced back at Merrick, who nodded slightly. "I have no doubt Song'll be interested in seeing ya again, though I know you look at her as a sister," he said with amusement, his gaze flicking momentarily to Constance; he knew Songbreeze also knew this fact, though the maiden was deeply fond of Merrick. Jess tilted her head, noticing the sais at Constance's hips as well as the bow in Cassandra's hand and the extremely long sword on Merrick's back. She glanced at Lorcan, curious as to where they'd gotten the weapons and how, since they were impressively made both in use and skill.
