The boy studied the pair, noting how even though the boy's friends, Fudou, looked up, slightly acknowledging the fact that the young Hyuuga had spoken to him, but going back to look at the cloaks. Finally choosing the one that matched the tree behind him. Takami rolled his eyes, that's why he only got one, well actually two cloaks, if you count the one he gave to Amaya, and then found the tree that had matched the cloak he had. It just seemed easier like that. The boy looked at the black-haired girl, surprised by her reply to him, where his friend had barely even acknowledged he was there. On top of that, the girl had actually agreed with him. Wait, did she say something about the edges of the boy's cloak standing out? Takami realized that he must've zoned out for a bit, looking at the boy with the mohawk, and gave him a sincere smile, trying to make up for not paying attention while the boy was performing the technique, though his friend probably didn't even notice, he seemed to have an obsession with the design on the cloaks, Takami would be sure to use that as fuel to make fun of him later, well, if they did still practice later, the boy wasn't sure if that was still an option.

The boys eyes seemed keep making their way back to the track, adrenaline rushing through his veins. He liked the way it felt to run, the wind blowing through his dark hair, the rhythmical pattern of his feet hitting against the ground, the way the boy felt free, free of all thoughts. Finally, the urge overtook the boy, and he gave each of the pair a quick bow, turning around, before stopping mid step, his left index finger quickly making it's way to the usual position on his lower lip. The boy turned around, ready to give his expertise to the two, for once, feeling important in the academy, for once he was actually ahead of someone in some technique. "Hey guys, you need to make sure that you're completely focused on the task at hand. This technique doesn't even work unless you're one hundred percent committed," and with that the boy started back towards the track.

The young Hyuuga found the rock that he had used to place the start of his running before, thoughts of what the younger black-hair Keiji had said to him about not knowing how to train. He knew that he shouldn't let something like this affect him while he was training, it still stung now, even though the comment was made almost a half hour ago. He knew that she was just trying to help. The boy started running down the first leg of the track, his head clearing instantly with the aerobics. The pitter patter of the 'Tap Tap Tap' of Takami's feet, the only thing in the boy's mind, the rhythmical pattern of his jogging, comforting to him as he reached the end of the second one hundred meters. He slowed his pace a little, trying to conserve his energy, he still had more then one half of the track left, and his breathing was already getting a little heavy, and he decided to stop for a second, to catch his breath, his finger going to his wrist to check his pulse, and no more than ten second later, the boy started again on the last three-hundred and fifty meters of the track. Seeing the homestretch, the last one-hundred meters left until the boy reached the unofficial finish line, the boy started into a full-out sprint, reaching the finish line, and sitting down, picking up the rocking mark, and tossing it back and forth between his hands.

After about five minutes of resting, the boy set down the reddish brown stone, throwing his arms behind him, and pushing to his feet. Takami grabbed his left foot, and pulled his leg up, stretching out the stiff muscles that were beginning to form from his short break, repeating it with the other leg, and then swinging his arms from side to side to get the blood flowing in them. The boy crouched down, taking in a deep breath and closing his eyes to calm down. The boy opened his eyes and started into a sprint, seeming to be routine for the first one-hundred meters, and then settling into a slower, jogging pace, working toward the half way mark, three-hundred meters. After getting halfway done, the boy settled into a slightly faster pace, trying to not over-extend himself this early in his training, the small blacked haired girl's voice ringing in the back of his head, "You don't know how to train," those six words seeming to bring him back into reality, the boy falling into a slower pace, to allow himself to build endurance before anything else, telling himself that he wouldn't sprint the last one hundred, as he had done on the previous attempt. The boy quickly ran past the final bend of the race, keeping his steady pace, bringing the young Hyuuga to the finish line in a respectable time, or so the boy imagined, it was a little bit difficult to keep time while you were running. The boy made his way down to the ground, sitting with his arms behind his back, his breath slowing the longer the boy rested.

The boy stayed seated on the ground, his breathed slowed down to a normal pace now, though the longer the boy sat, the more the thought of the day came rushing back into him. It had been eventful, though that seemed to be a bit of an under statement. The young boy remember the Senju, how she had appeared almost from nowhere, then asking the two, Fudou and himself, to show her around, and when they did she seemed to start with the Jonin with those powerful red eyes, mostly because it seemed that they.... knew each other? He didn't know, but the whole situation just seemed awkward, and it had led to the Hyuuga starting a problem with one of his fellow classmates in defense of the Senju he didn't even know personally, though he couldn't say that he regretted it, she was, afterall, one of his few idols, the other being his older cousin, Elruda. But after that the rest of the day seemed pretty good, until that slight snag in his training with the small, black-haired girl, in her telling him that he didn't know how to train, but the boy still decided that he need to take that positively, even if it still did hurt a bit.

The boy rose to his feet, his mind processing a thousand things every second, propelling the boy forward into a slow jog, instantly taking all of his words away and leaving the boy counting the pattern of the steps in his head, "One two, one two, one two," the boy repeated mentally, trying to keep a steady pattern, to keep the boy from tripping over his feet. The boy reached the one hundred meter mark, increasing his speed a little bit, the pitter patter of his feet seeming to take a new pattern, the foot steps more singular instead of the both of the steps having a fluid motion, seperating from two more steps from the other foot. Takami decided that he liked this pattern better, hoping that it wouldn't cause him to trip and scrape his knee, or even worse, breaking or bruising something. After that, the lap seemed to pass the boy by quickly, two hundred meters, three hundred meters, four hundred meters, five hundred meters, only the homestretch in front of him. The boy picked up his pace, ever so slightly, as to finish the extra credit even faster, hoping to start on his fifth lap soon after the current one he's on. He crossed the finish line, running a few metres past where he was suppose to stop, and the making his way back to where the beginning was, sitting down in the ground next to the rock, trying to cool off.

Fudou uncloaked himself after Yae's characteristically blunt evaluation. Not that he minded. Being polite when you kinda didn't want to be was just another form of lying. While Fudou wasn't above lying, when he wasn't trying to fake someone out he like to do it straightforwardly and damn the consequences. He pushed his frustration at his failure and Takami's quick success down and let out a small laugh. "Yeah, that kinda sucked."

He looked down at the cloak, double checking that he'd had the right pattern, before looking back to see how Yae was getting along. She was gone. Well, she was smart, so she probably absorbed and understood how to 'draw' on the cloak from the very beginning. It wasn't until she spoke that he realised where she was, and could make out her faint outline.

"I couldn't see you until you spoke," he said. "And that's dumb. We got plenty of practice on stuff indoors yesterday, like walls and floor patterns. Of course working with nature is gonna be another thing completely."

He'd been watching Takami fidgeting out of the corner of his eye and the boy finally turned, wanting to go back to the track. But not before giving them another piece of advice. Well... it was spoken with good intentions. "We know that, Hyuuga," Fudou said before deciding to soften the blow a bit. It had been a good reminder. "So you better commit one hundred percent to those laps you're doing."

He took the same cloak that he'd tried just now, figuring that he should just master how to use each one one by one. Actually, he couldn't even really tell the two tree patterns apart. One had lines that went straight down, but were broken up by horizontal jagged lines. The other had lines that went straight down, but were broken up by horizontal jagged lines... and he supposed that even the vertical lines for that cloak went a bit squiggly at times. Wow. Why did Konoha have so many trees?!

He looked at his tree again and determined that it looked more like the non-squiggly pattern, so he picked that cloak up. He compared the two patterns for a while before holding the cloak against the tree to see what the edges looked like. Holding the cloth in between his arm and body for a moment, Fudou made the hand seal and got some chakra out. He applied it to the sides of the cloak to see what exact effect they would have. No point in experimenting behind the cloak when he couldn't see what he was actually doing.

Nara, Shikakuya

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Contrary to popular believe, Shikakuya had neither ignored Yae nor her advice but rather had taken both under deep consideration. However as was his habit, he didn't really tell anyone or there indicate to the outside world that he was getting really introspective, to the point that he was unresponsive to most outside stimuli. Sort of like earlier when he was concentrating on his work and missed all the action, except he was even more detached from the world. This kind of trance or mediation or whatever you want to call it didn't happen to often but when he was confronted with a really troubling problem, one of these period of zoning out usually preceded a solution.

"Slow down she says...," he thought to himself. "But I've already tried that, haven't I?"

And he had, to an extent done just that. All through the teacher's lecture he'd been discretely pulling at his entangled fingers even as he listened. That hadn't really gotten him anywhere, so he'd abandoned that tactic for less subtle measure thereafter. Maybe he'd been too hasty in such a leap, instea of swinging from one extreme to another, he might consider trying the middle ground. Working at his fingers with a bit more vim and vigor than he had during sensei's speech but taking his time and moving a bit slower than the mini-tantrum he'd been having earlier. What could it hurt?

In was in such a fashion that Shikakuya was finally able to extricate his finger and properly perform the Rat seal. All in all, once he got his fingers out of that mess and gave them a moment or two to recover, the rest was quite simple. He worked slow at the seal as he had done to free himself and made a fist around the first two fingers of his left hand then allowed the rest to curled in. The familiar chakra resonance sounded in his mind and he was finally able to move on with his training.

Grinning, she nodded to Shiro, glad that he was being enthusiastic about it instead of saying no. That would have been a real crusher. Turning to her partner again, she quickly told him what she had in mind.

"I'll go grab both our cloaks from the storage room. If you can go find a good spot for us outside to practice, that would be great. I'll be with you soon!" she said, already at the door to get them and start as quickly as possible. They had already taken a lot of time even getting to pair up with each other, and others might have already finished. She quickly entered and grabbed the sheets, wondering if he already had them. Taking two sets anyway, she went outside and searched for Shiro so they could get started. Amaya and Taka seemed to have already finished, and she was alarmed. No way was she going to lose to the Hyūga, if it meant being paired with someone else than Akeru-sama, like maybe... the Senju. Shuddering at the very thought, she vowed never to think something as horrible as that, and searched for her partner.

Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique)
Description: This Jutsu is where one uses a cloak or a piece of cloth to make oneself blend in with the background, interpreting oneself invisible. While a student should use a cloak/cloth that fits with their environment, chakra can be used to enhance the effect but it can not make up for using the wrong camouflage. In this exercise the students will demonstrate their ability to blend in to various surroundings using their cloaks/cloths.

Manabu Ko, Lvl 15.

Ko was pleased with his children, he watched them all from his leaning position against the academy outer wall. They all progressed swimmingly without his assistance, he had thought about helping out at this lesson, but he stood there silently and watched while enjoying their brilliance. "They're already done?" he exclaimed after seeing Taka and Amaya-chan returning their pieces of cloth. "Wow.. I wonder what will become of those two.." he smiled and shook his head back and forth. He was about to step out from his perfectly shaded spot, when a hand was gently placed onto his shoulder and pulled Ko's shoulder as he took his step, forcing him to turn 45 degrees. "Huh?"

The man had arrived bearing news of a mission that was taking place just outside of the village borders. They had suffered some casualties and the risk of failure grew by each minute. Ko's eyes went rapidly from student to student. Could he leave them all now, when he had actually started to make a connection? I guess he had to. What else could be done? He nodded at the messenger and asked him to wait by the entrance to the school's courtyard. He turned once again to his students and walked up to a spot in the yard were the most kids were "Everyone!" he called out "I have been called out to a mission. I don't know how long it will take but I am gonna sprint every opportunity I get so I can get back quicker, okay? I am sure another teacher will be called in shortly" he looked around at the student's that was there "Oh.. And pass this on to the other classmates so no one is confused.. Or more confused" he laughed and scratched his head "Okay! Take care guys! Good luck! Stay focused! Have fun! Be on time! Don't step on eachother's toes! Watch out for stray dogs! Look towards both sides before crossing the road" he meant to just stop talking after the good luck, but he felt that he needed to pass on as much knowledge as possible before he left. But after a while, he reached the exit and left together with the messenger.

4 - 1 = 3 Failure

Amaya acknowledged her now ex-partner as he bowed and thanked her for being a part of his training. While it may not have been obvious, the young girl knew there had to be a slight twinge of relief getting away from her since her words had been so harsh towards the boy. Then again, the Keiji also didn’t care. She had been trained by her parents not to become emotional over words and to take them at face value; though the black haired girl had already slipped up on that once today when the Senju woman terrified her. Then again, that would have horrified her parents as well so Amaya wasn’t too concerned about the instance. However, as she thought about it more the child became resolved never to mention the instance to her parents even though she was expected to give a full account of the day upon her return. They would never find out so it wasn’t like it would hurt them not to know. If anything this was going to protect them. That was one thing the child distinctly understood: in life there were some things best to keep to one’s self in order to protect the people they loved. Sure, this wasn’t something that was going to turn her parents’ world upside down but it was something that would make them apprehensive about her continuing her training. That wasn’t acceptable, so this little omission would also have personal gain to it.

Enjoying the shade of the tree that they had been working under, Amaya decided that she didn’t want to run laps at this point in time. High noon just didn’t seem like the time to go out and bake on the track when she wasn’t carrying a watch canteen. However, there were still multiple extra credit exercises that the small child could complete while still taking advantage of the decreased temperature beneath the rustling branches of the tree. Sure, the breeze probably would have made it easier to run, but she also knew how important it was to keep hydrated and she also understood how difficult that could be in warm conditions from working in the forge. Unless a person was perspiring heavily, sweat was easily dismissed in a breeze and it gave the illusion that the person wasn’t sweating as much as they actually were. So, while running laps was still on her list of things to do, it was not the thing to be doing immediately; it was a simple task that she could do with anyone, or no one, at any point.

Taking out her scroll and looking at the extra credit assignments, the young girl decided that she needed to work on her strength, of which she had very little, and pushups seemed like more realistic task that pull ups since that would also involve clambering up to some sort of pole or branch for her to use. The child’s arms were small and appeared fragile, but that was because they were used to precision movements instead of heavy lifting or strong swings. No, that was her father’s job in the forge. The most lifting Amaya did was of her brothers, though there were times when she could and would gather all four of them into her arms, which was somewhat impressive for a child her size. Then again, she had also been lifting her brothers since they were born and she became accustomed to that specific lifting. Even through their growth spurts she was constantly lifting them, carrying them, and moving them around.

The child knelt on the ground and placed her hands in the proper position before lifting herself into the plank position. Amaya slowly and smoothly lowered herself to the point that her elbows were at a ninety degree angle, quite proud of her form, when she heard her sensei’s voice coming from the doorway. Instead of lifting herself back up and then moving to rest position the child dropped a knee and brought her body back to a kneeling position in order to pay attention to their instructor. Wow, they really were short for people on the line if they were pulling teachers out of the midst of their lessons. It was absolutely incredible to the girl that there was no one else, but she also assumed that the military leaders knew what they were doing. Would they get another teacher in there today? No matter, Amaya had plenty of training to do and if she had to she would teach herself the required lessons from the descriptions in her scroll. That might make it more difficult, but it was something that she was prepared to do.

Since her training had been interrupted, the Keiji took a look around the courtyard to see that almost everyone was outside now, though they were all just now beginning their assignments. Oh well, that was no matter. Amaya was finished and now she had more work to do. Taking a break wasn’t on her mind and it was the last thing she needed to do right now. She wasn’t exactly well rounded and she needed to fix that as quickly as possible and this was the first step towards that goal.

14 - 1 = 13 Success

With their sensei disappearing through the door and disappearing to who knows where Amaya realized just what state the country was in. If there was anything the young girl couldn’t stand it was that people seemed incapable of living in peace any more. Everyone and everything was dependent on the will of the strongest shinobi and the most powerful were often corrupt and greedy. That was the main reason the young Keiji chose to become a ninja. If there was anything that the girl could do to end the conflict she would. Her ultimate conclusion to her existence as a shinobi was not to die in a blaze of glory during the greatest fight in history while taking down the greatest threat to the nation in the history of ever, inevitably saving the country and having her memory live on in infamy. No, Amaya didn’t care about being remembered or having anyone singing her praises when she died. If she helped make the country a peaceful place once again and finished her days in a clerical position locked in an office day in and day out. If that was the result of peace coming onto the nation then she would feel more than fulfilled in her days as a shinobi.

Amaya pulled herself back to reality, though she had only been gone for a few seconds imagining a world of peace, so that she could return to her training. This whole physical exercise was a new thing for her since she had gotten all of the exercise she could handle from playing with her brothers on a daily basis. They would tire out even the strongest person in a heartbeat. However, that was one thing that the young girl wanted to assure with this training. She wanted to be able to pick up all four of her brothers at the same time for as long as they would allow her to. However, as they got bigger she would have to get stronger. Some people complained about one child getting bigger and becoming more difficult to hold; imagine four of them all at once. With her sensei gone and everyone else presumably continuing on with their assignments, the child leaned forward and placed her hands on the ground shoulder width apart. As she had before, the girl lifted herself into a plank position before lowering herself to that same ninety degree angle and lifting her body weight back up into that same beginning position. It was to her advantage that she was so light, but Amaya truly did lack in upper body strength and while she had successfully completed that one singular pushup there were still many more to do. This was going to be an honest test of the child and she just hoped that she didn’t run out of energy before she actually completed that assignment, that would be unfortunate. However, if she did manage to have enough energy to finish the task she would also have to set a goal for herself: now that she had a successful pushup completed, her knees were not allowed to touch the ground. None of that “girl” pushup and “boy” pushup nonsense. This was going to be a pushup plain and simple regardless of whether she was a boy or a girl.

15 - 1 = 14 Success

At this point in time, Amaya was feeling good about the exercise. Then again, it is always easiest at the beginning. She was relatively light, even for her size, so it wasn’t like there was much strain on the body when it came to bringing her up. The child was completely fixated on form and making sure she did everything perfectly. Or else. It was the flat back, looking forward, locked arms, and then the ninety degree angle so that if she were to look down she could bump someone’s fist. This was also a great time to start for a reason that many wouldn’t consider: puberty. All of these tasks became more difficult once womanhood set in because as a rule women were not bad to do pushups. There were things in the way and their weight was distributed funny and all of those such things. Then again, that was years in the way for the small girl and it was the last thing on her mind. By that time her back, chest, and arms would be so strong that she wouldn’t even bat an eyelash at having to do pushups. However, the small girl would have work towards that point and right now she had only completed a single pushup. Big whoop.

The black haired girl breathed in slowly through her nose as she lowered herself to that ninety degree angle that she was so fixated on before exhaling sharply and accelerating back up to her locked position, holding the plank. Wow, two without having to stop was more than the child had honestly anticipated since she had never really done pushups. Once more, she began conspiring against her brothers. Not only could she use the camouflage cloak to hide from them while playing hide and go seek, but she would also be able to use them to add some weight to her pushup training when she became stronger. It would be a game for them; much like horsey time. The young girl was a little bit excited thinking about how she could manipulate play time with her brothers to be an additional training exercise while she was at home. If she was able to do little things like that around the house often she it would be no time before she was strong and able to earn a new rank. Then again, and the child was consciously aware of this, her age may work against her. With only being eight upon entering the Academy, most likely the youngest in her class unless Sakura’s birthday was at the very end of Winter. Then again, Sakura seemed more like a Spring or a Summer person. That really didn’t matter though. No, all that mattered at this point in time was getting through her newest task and becoming stronger so that her age no longer worked as a factor against her. Plus, Akeru, the jonin that she now looked up to somewhat, was only a teenager; so there was hope that it wouldn’t impact her.

The Hyuuga took a couple more deep breaths before using his arms to push him up, and making his way back to the beginning of the track. The boy quickly started his, almost routine, stretching session, grabbing his left foot and pulling it up behind himself and holding it, before he switched legs, and stretched out his right hamstring. Takami then swung his arms out, allowing blood reach all of his extremities before he started his fifth lap. The boy quickly took another survey of the training grounds, seeing who was partnering with who, and how far everyone had gotten on the new jutsu, a smile reaching his face as the boy realized that none of the students had finished it yet, but then reminding him that most of the student were, in fact, still ahead of him in the class schedule. He stopped himself, knowing that if he started to think about the rest of the day, or anything like that, the boy would surely get distracted from his training, again bringing to his mind what his new friend, the black-haired Keiji, had said about him, again giving him a fire in his heart to work harder then before.

He quickly started, running full out for about fifty meters before the boy started to slow down, gradually pulling himself into a more steady pace. His mind catching all of the aspects of the day, the gentle breath, how the leaves were a perfect green, the light of the sun right warm on the boy's skin, It was beautiful out today. The boy quickly made it to the one-hundred meter mark, and slowed his pace to about half of his speed from the fifty to one hundred meter mark, so far his run had been pretty easy, but the boy knew the laps would only get harder and harder as the time passed on, and he would be stupid to waste all of his energy while the laps were still a breeze. Takami quickly made it to the two hundred meter mark, deciding that the steady pace he was at would be efficient enough for him, staying the same speed, and moving ahead with the same intensity that he's had all day, his mind again wondering to the brilliant weather of the day, and how lucky it was for the boy, that he was able to run on such a beautiful afternoon, instead of in the rain or snow. Quickly, the boy decided to add running laps to his morning routine, he loved the way that it made him feel, the way he only had to think about the weather, or about his routine, the way his mind was kept from roaming from thought to thought, and could easily just be kept thinking of running.

The boy didn't even that he was at the homestretch until he looked up from the ground and saw the familiar landmark of the ending of the track insight, quickly finishing the fifth lap. The boy slowed down in the next fifty meters to a walk, making his way over to the school, the thought of the boy being halfway done with his training never crossing his mind. The boy quickly went to the bathroom and got a drink, checking in the classroom to see the Yanmaka and Nara still working on the hand seals, quietly hoping for an Akimichi to show up, knowing that the three clans were closely knit, and guaranteed a spot together no matter what. The boy smiled at the two and gave a bow, quickly turning around and making his way outside of the academy, and back towards the track. He sat down at the beginning of the track, his breath already caught from his little 'adventure' to the academy, but deciding to take a small break from his training to calm down even further, to make himself more readily able to perform the task at hand. He would need to take these small break if he were to finish the training as easily as he had started it.

                              (Close call XD)

16 - 1 = 15 Success

Why was this going so well? Amaya had the sneaking suspicion that with how wonderfully her training was going thus far that the universe was conspiring against her. Sure, the universe didn’t necessarily have anything at all to with her physical accomplishments but she had to be wary of something or another. After all, she had never trained her upper body, or her body for that matter, and she was just doing so well. Did that justify suspicion in something whose existence couldn’t be proven? Oh well, it did in the young girls mind simply because doing pushups was boring. The same grass was fluttering below her in the gentle breeze and the same bunches of foliage were singing the same tune that they had been all afternoon up above her head. However, there was one benefit to her position. Amaya had set herself up so that she could watch her classmates working on all of their assignments.

Taka’s running pattern was…interesting to say that least. It was obvious that he was working on short distance and sprints, but the black haired girl didn’t quite understand his methodology. Oh well, that was his deal and this time it wasn’t affecting her work, so it really wasn’t her business. Yae and Fuduo were just beginning their training with the cloaks, which didn’t seem quite as easy as either of them thought it would be. Shiro and Sakura were still making their way out of the building without much haste it appeared. Then again, if they had all heard the same little announcement that Amaya had then it wasn’t surprising that they weren’t in a rush; who was there to sheppard them onto the next task to instruct them on the next assignment anyways? Oh well, that wasn’t going to keep the young Keiji girl from her tasks regardless. After all, she had already grown to distain the dramatic confliction that seemed to riddle the entire environment. Why was everyone so emotional here? Was it something in the water or in the bento boxes?

None the less, Amaya drew herself back into her training after having done a wonderful job holding her plank position, but that wasn’t the focus of her task at the moment. Instead, the girl wiggled her shoulders a little to make sure that she hadn’t tensed up in her holding position. Happy that she was still limber and loose, the child once more lowered herself down to that ninety degree position slowly while taking in an even breath. As she had the two times before, the child exhaled as she used the muscles in her arms to accelerate back to the top of her position. That was one of the few things she knew about doing pushups. One was supposed to go all the way down to a ninety degree angle and they were also supposed to be slow and controlled on the way down and then strong and explosive on the way back up. Not only did this practice control but this also allowed for the person to develop strength and speed in something that may otherwise have been left unattended.

Yae let her cloak down, revealing her triumphant expression, a slight grin cast in Akio's direction. "Sure, I suppose the patterns are the only real difference working out here. The wind could get kind of annoying though." Thankfully it hadn't.

Her bright expression turned dour for a moment when the Hyuuga spoke. She quickly corrected the scowl, realizing he had only meant to help. "Thanks Hyuuga-san. Be careful on the track. It's uneven in places; I even tripped a few times..."

"Was he trying to call us stupid? What would we be focused on, besides this?" Yae raised an eyebrow at Fudou, as if he held the answer. She decided to let it go when he appeared to not hear her, instead being absorbed in the different cloak patterns. She watched as he held one pattern up to the tree without actually using it. That was actually pretty smart.

"If you were standing behind that I think you'd be invisible. Just do the same thing you are now." It was nearly impossible to tell where the cloak ended and the tree began, except where Fudou's hand broke the illusion. Yae stood against her tree, raising the cloak again. If she could turn into a tree twice in a row she would consider that pattern mastered. There was a rather plain-looking cloak that had caught her eye, and she wanted to figure out what it was supposed to be.

In this exorcise the students will demonstrate their ability to blend in to various surroundings using their cloaks/cloths.

Nara, Shikakuya
User Image

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

As he'd just screwed himself over royally not too long ago, it was predictable that Shikakuya not only moved onto a simpler hand seal but that he also proceeded with the utmost of care. He'd already suffered long and hard for being too cocky, and too blazeh about the whole exercise. He really needed to buckle down and finish this exercise quickly because he was really lagging behind the rest of the class, and that was something he wanted to avoid if it were possible. Though he didn't let village politics entered into his thinking, and his clan was a prestigious as it once was but he still wanted to put on a good show at the academy for himself and all those rooting for him back home. It was time for him to grow up, take life a bit more seriously.

So although the Monkey hand seal was quite simple, he still went about performing it very slowly. Holding his palms up, lying flat against one another he tilted the pair to one side and then rotated the lower palm one hundred and eighty degrees. From there he extended his elbows out to his sides and brought his joined hands to lie in front of his bellybutton, and also slightly pulling his hands apart. Finally he extended his thumbs slightly and slotted his hands back together such that each thumb was not situated between the pinky and ring finger of the other hand. It was then that the chakra resonance chime sounded and he knew it was safe to let go of the breathe he hadn't known he was holding and move on.
