Well, sory about not being around for emergency jaho grading and such. I was down in Rolla all last week.

Oh, and here is a revenue idea. Having the Gaian press pmed to people who are willing to pay 50g a month for the service. Thus, they wouldn't have to search through the forum for it.

Like that idea, I do!

Awesome job Serieve!

*cheers*

I'll pick up my duties...soon...

This week up to the 25th-ish i'll be moving, so you won't see more than fleeting glimpses of me.

Sorry.

What with the Submissiosn Thread, finding stuff won't be hard anyways; and our columnists are pretty prompt.

Well, the main issue will be the contest. I'm finding that holding a contest like this during the summer isn't a good idea, so from now on when we do this, let's do it during the school year when people on the internet are more active. Everyone just seems to take a vacation during the summer.

Another important thing to note is that they're discussing a new subforum that could definately pertain to us in the new temporary sticky located in the WF. For now, I'll keep posting in the main forum until they figure it out.

And I'm going to try once again asking for new staffies. There just aren't enough of us here to do much.

*Just realized something* Oh! And uh, this is Serieve. I was doing a revamp on our mule and sort of... forgot. ^^ And I used money I donated, so don't worry. I'm replacing the majority of it now.

And yes, Jaho's idea was a good one. If people don't want to go looking for the issue in the WF, then we can send it to them for a fee. We'll have to keep up accounts of who we send it to and such, maybe give an occasional bonus to those who pay, like an added feature on the issue. Next question, how much do we agree upon?

Oh, and I sort of had an idea. What if we set up a mini shop exclusively for the Gaian Press? Question is, what would we sell? We'll leave this in the planning stage until we get more details.

Hold it. idea

Combine those two ideas ^. xd Why didn't I see that sooner?

At 75g a issue that comes out to 900g for a years worth. Then you just put down what month they end in next to their name.

As for a subforum for magazines, from the way the talking is going, it isn't going to be happening.

Agreed. Most seem to be leaning towards a No on teh subforum discussion.

What about special member benefits; like if they need stuff edited/critiqued, we could do it for a lesser price than if others did it.

Wait, what am I saying?!?!?! We can't even keep up with the required critiquing of submissions. sweatdrop

Another thing: What about mini contests every issue? Something small, like 20g prize. "170 words on what would happen if Snow White met Gollum."...sorry, that was random. But you get the idea, right? Right?

Last thing: How about a Q&A section? Readers send in questions, the staffie who can answer the question best answers?

I like the Q&A.
I also think we also need to definitly have the ability to buy a membership (as how could we not benifit from added revenue).

Definite no on the critiquing.

Maybe a yes on some good ole Jahoclavian Msting. But that would require me to get permission to use a completly shitty piece of work to just rip a new one. Plus it has to be exceptionally shitty in a certain way for me to make fun of well.

Also, there could be the in depth staff interviews. Kind of a more serious version of that one thing. Along with only focusing on one member at a time.

I'm not to sure I like the mini-contest idea. Though, I do like the idea of incorporating some sort of microfiction. Maybe we could do a micro-fiction project and/or contest at some point.

'tisn't me. ^

But will we set up a mini shop for it, or simply announce it in the next issue? If we set up a mini shop, I also think we should have a link to the shop here at the guild, of course.

I do agree that those who pay to recieve the issue should get bonuses to their product, like Q&A, or quotes, a new layout, something. We'll have to come up with a bunch while keeping in mind the amount of work we'll be able to do.

75g it is then. We're having a few new members, some who've made their appearance and some who haven't. I advise welcoming them only if they seem to deserve it.

Is much in agreement. Well I wouldn't announce the minishop untill we have a product to sell and the minishop created.

As for being able to have the press delievered, I'd say we announce that next year and that it's a 12 issue subscription (I honestly don't feel like dealing with 75g a month.) 900 upfront just seems to be a lot easier to manage. I do think the staff specials would be a good start for the subscription only side; it at least gives us a few months to come up with something good to add.

If all else fails we can just include photographs of the staff... After all, who wouldn't want to look at my sexy mug? 3nodding

I would not be adversed to doing the "Dear Patriotic Steve" column where I give people crappy advice for their pointless problems. Basically a Dear Abby parody that gives a less pretentious and more human friendly answer.
