Taru watched on as Norvie went sailing into the water...glanced over at Arel, who still wasn't moving...and gave Bella the biggest facepalm that she'd ever facepalmed in the entirety of her stay at Amityville.
They had all learned so much here.

"But WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???" Was all Norvie could cry out as he was suddenly launched, landing face first in what could only be described as a tumbling flop before sinking.
Well so much for worrying about whether the water was radioactive or not. Too late now. They all had cancer.
He spluttered to the surface, wobbling to find his feet. Thankfully it wasn't very deep, and there was plenty of treasure to stand on. Choking, he grabbed an armful of treasure as ammunition, coughing and sputtering as he threw a golden cup back at the ghoul that had launched him, "What was that for?? If we all are suffering from radioactivity poisoning, I blame you!!"

Bella was knocked with a cup against her head. This displeased her. And so, she waded over, and flopped her entire body on Norvie.
"YOU. DROWN NOW."
One less nerd to worry about.

There was a splash, a gurgling yelp, and a pair of pink rattish feet kicking frantically in the air as the rat-monster was plunged back into the water and *held there*. His tail flailed, trying to whip about and hopefully hit his attacker, but it was difficult to aim when you were drowning.

Cricket got up to meet Dis, hissing and making a horrendous clicking noise. She wasn't the 'bug girl' for no reason, after all.
"NO." she huffed, the markings in her arms starting to go mad as they whirled around each other. "Last thing he needs is you trying to fix him up!" she jabbed him in the chest. "I bet you don't even know how to give CPR!"
Meanwhile, Arel was probably turning bl- oh wait..

Eventually, Bella rolled off of Norvie, but only after he'd started to move more sluggishly. It wasn't fun unless they almost fell unconscious.
"All right, nerd." She grumbled, letting him go and picking him up out of the water. "Teach you to throw things at me."
She started backstroking in the water, kicking it at him to keep him from following.

The monster here and gone Quin made her way into the now visible tavern. "Well, I'll be." She stood at the entrance for some time just taking in the sight while the other students started to explore. It was a rather strange place to be under the school and hearing d**k not far from her had her rolling her eyes. "Pool, right." It was the fanciest pool she had ever seen.
Finally moving into the room Quin followed the blue flowers ready to pluck one when she found they retreated into the floor as she approached. With any luck something else wouldn't snap back to bite her. Avoiding them for now she started to walk a path around the pool when she noticed the etchings on the wall. The light from the pool was enough to just barely see they were there. Moving closer she ran her hand along the etchings on the wall trying to figure out what they were. "I wonder what dese are."

Something occurred to the not-really-dead and not-actually-that-unconscious Arel as he half-floated in belly down in the water. Despite being exactly in the water, despite the fact that he was literally face-down in it, he could actually still breathe, or really, whatever Ice Demons did in equivalent of you know, existing while floating face down in the water.
That was odd... was this actually really just water?
The Ice Demon lifted his head slightly. "Hey guys, I can still-"
- And then was promptly knocked out by Cricket's enthusiastic elbow. For real.

If there were ever a moment where Taru truly understood why she wanted so desperately to fight for equality between all species...well, yep. This was it.
"Can we cut this s**t out and figure out what all this junk and stuff is." She knew she probably should have expected this by now. No, no should have, really. It wasn't too surprising when she considered how everything had gone for the past few years.
She kicked a plod of dirt into the glowy water in frustration. They were stuck in some kind of stupid cave for snooping and nobody even knew where they were and this was all getting to like. Gnome level stupid.
Bloody Mary, what a bang to go out with.

Dis laughed leaning into her pokes. "Chest compressions, blow in, more compressions, it's a system. I'm not that dumb Cricket. Besides, that's the beauty of it. He'll be so horrified that it's me, he'll wake up unless he wants me touching him and kissing him anymore than needed."
Winking, he did it to her. "Or we can double team him up, I'd be okay with that."

Vanth plodded in behind him. The way her eyes had gone a little puffy and red would probably explain why she hadn't come sooner. While everyone else had taken off on the trail, she'd gone looking for a first aid kit. FEAR or not, the trail was suspiciously blood-like. The only thing she could find on short notice was a big box of bind-aids, which wriggled around a bit in their open box at the sudden transition from dark to light. For all Vanth knew, it could already be too late. Still she could practically hear a call for help the entire way down the dark maze of walls and passages. Oh, that poor creature. But there were no poor creatures to be found here. Classmates, yes. Treasure, a vast lake, bright light, yes. A poor, defenseless creature.... not that she could see, Arel aside. "Argyle," Vanth spoke quietly. She hardly seemed to notice the sparkling treasure. A room full of blue and gold but no red to be found. A few careful steps took her to the edge of the water, where she paced uncertainly while never quite stepping into it. Everything around was pristine, glowing, shiny. The grim reaper pressed her lips into a thin line, her face full of concern mixed with apprehension. "I don't see any more blood. Where did it go...?"

Norvie would have retorted with a strong, intelligently articulated argument if he wasn't gasping for breath as the pressure of Bella on his throat and chest lifted and he resurfaced with a gasp and spluttered for breath. "It... dis... covery...and... exploration... and... science..." He wobbled a moment, ears and hair soaking wet before he flopped back into the water again.
Well, it was better than being stuffed in a locker and at least it wasn't a swirly?

Ylva had pretty much been unperturbed as she watched her fellow students fight off the giant squid. For one, tentacles were common to her, and two, her FEAR wouldn't be handy on something that size.
So she waited, until the monster retreated and they could move forward.
Upon entering the cavern, she was entirely transfixed for a moment, eyes on the glowing pool of water. The treasure was interesting enough, but she found herself stepping into the pool, a smile of contentment blossoming on her face. It felt nice and warm, and while she felt inclined to shift back into her normal form and let her tentacles splash about freely in the water...
Judging from what had just happened previously, she didn't think it was wise. Some idiot could mistake it for the giant squid returning and pelt attacks at her. After all, some boil seemed to have spent too long underwater.
Sigh.
The rocks she was stepping on felt strangely uneven, and she bent down, hands brushing the grooves. "How strange." She murmured, and then looked back to see if Relict was still there. "It doesn't feel... normal."

She had a point. The blood trail had certainly disappeared into the same tunnels they had disappeared into...but it didn't make it this far down, apparently. He felt a pang of guilt at the realization that the (potentially human) victim might still be lost in that maze of pitch black up there, especially when he could have served as a walking rescue beacon. "Yeah..." he trailed off, frowning at the sight of her grief-stricken expression. "Someone else probably helped them. Another one of us. We..." Nope. "You can ask around later." He offered a pat on her shoulder in sympathy. Though he was particularly disgruntled over how much attention was being drawn to his own glow in the dim light, he still did his best to make use of his terrible curse, wandering towards the walls with a sidelong glance to Vanth. "Guess we could...I don't know. Check these. If we have to." Making a very melodramatic display of just how much he did not want to remove his glove, he peeled it off of his hand and stuffed it in one of his jacket pockets before extending his luminescent hand towards the etchings on the wall. "Anything, Van?"

He stood on the edge of the lake with an amazed look. "Ohh~" He mouthed in surprise, seeing everybody either frolick in the water or inspect something else. He had to shield his eyes from the brightness of the cave until his eyes adjusted. "It looks fun, why don't I join you?" Rilect jumped into the water without so much as a warning, fully submerged before coming out. His clothes were soaked, and he had to rake back his hair, but the beserker didn't look like he cared in the least. In fact, there was a look on his face that said he was having fun. "I can understand why you like the water Ylva~ With the exception that I don't have a giant squid on my tail, yes~" The chalice didn't interest him. Nor did the idea of treasures, since he wasn't greedy in the least. He watched the golden treasures reflect, enjoying the light that they cast. But that was it. He was right next to Arel, staring at him. Or more accurately, his dying form. "Don't die now." He said mildly, and was 97% positive that this dude wouldn't die. After all, he was an ice demon. In water. It must have been close enough. Still, he allowed himself to be submerged in the liquid to hear a strange voice. He tried to listen closer for the source and to interpret the strange sounds one heard in the lake.
