The students seemed to have everything under control, and I had a very important piece of news to write home about. Heading over to my desk I sat down and pulled out a quill, some ink and some parchment and began to write.

Mum and Dad

I hope everything is going well at your latest dig site, I do miss all the fun I had helping you uncover the mystical magic past. So far I haven’t had much to do as an Auror, guess that can bring you some relief Mum, that I’m safely stationed at the office in Hogsmeade. Now as a Professor things have been a little rocky. My friends that I left behind have had a hard time adjusting to the fact that I’m not just Ken any more, that I’m Professor Reynolds. It’s still sort of weird for me to, makes me feel old when I hear them call me sir. Not only that I have this one student, Merlin’s beard this girl is a lot of work, she’s very narcissistic and it try’s my patients. I came close to transfiguring her into a ferret one day, but I managed to keep myself from doing it.

I know you wanted to keep up-to-date on Aludra’s and mines relationship, we’re doing great, better than great. I love her so much, when I’m having a bad day or something just being around her makes it better. We had a little rough spot there for a few days; I had to act as a Professor 1st and boyfriend 2nd in class one day. I ended up shouting at her for not behaving and ended up give her detention. In fact we just made up like 10 minutes prior to me sitting down and writing this letter. Which brings me to the real reason I’m writing, I hope you’re sitting down when you read this, b/c what I’m about to say is pretty heavy. Okay you ready, here I go….Mum….Dad….I’m going to be a father. Yes you read that right. I said father…Aludra is pregnant…she just told me today. I am so happy I don’t think I can really put it down into words. I hope you’re not too angry at me for rushing things, and while I was hoping to ask Aludra to marry me before we thought about having kids, it doesn’t really change my plans all that much I love this girl and I wish to spend the rest of time with her.

I read over the letter and was satisfied with what I had said, I pulled up the parchment and slide it into my robes until I had a chance to visit Prothos and have him take this home.

The urge to send the letter to my folks was overwhelming. I was nearly bursting at the seams wanting to tell anyone and everyone the excellent news. People would learn soon enough once Aludra really started to show. I would need to see if it was okay with Aludra first before we started telling people at the school. Looking up from my desk I watched Aludra move around the class room soon she would need to start taking it easy, being on the Quidditch team wasn't an option anymore. "Class I need to step out for a few minutes, 7th years are once again in charge, please see to it that the class doesn't blow up before I get back." I said as I got up from my desk and headed for the door.
