"Yes, they're portable. They'll surround us both so long as I have the energy to keep them in tact." Mala whispered, huddled into one of the crate corners.
The demons were simply standing there, their eyes darting around for any sign of the escaped trio. (Including the child) However, being the simpletons they are, they didn't realise they should check every nook and cranny. As a result? They left before long, bored and unaware of what they were searching for anymore.

"Okay, crisis averted...." Van said with a sweatdrop as he lifted the crate lid all the way once the demons were gone before helping Mala out of the box. "Good thing those guys had a collective IQ in the single digits."
((Iz okay. I kinda wandered off to play video games in your absence, so I did not go without entertainment. XD ))

{Thanks. I have a feeling I'll be doing that often once Fable III comes out. Even more so when Dragon Age II comes out.}
Mala nodded eagerly in agreement. "Hopefully they won't remember where the docks are or even that we were here to begin with.." she said, looking obviously relieved.
The child peeked out of the door that lead into the lower deck of the ship and came out once they were sure that they were safe. "Are them demons gone?" they asked hesitantly, the child sounding soft-spoken and feminine.

((Well, I've got clean up to do for 100% completion in Metroid: Other M, and I just picked up the latest Professor Layton game. XD ))
"Assuming their boss doesn't tell 'em to get their rears back in gear, yeah. For the time being they're gone." Van said looking at the kid with a slightly confused expression. "Where'd you come from anyway?"

"My name's Milly." the child replied, smiling softly at Mala. "What's his name? He's cute!" she giggled.
Mala chuckled. She wrapped an arm around his shoulder in a friendly manner, a smug look on her face as she spoke. "Well, why don't you introduce yourself to the sweet little thing, buddy?"

((FINALLY!! The puppet master of WCG Ultimate Gamer was finally eliminated! The stupid male alliance may be thrown into chaos now, but the puppet master's gone!! *prances around throwing confetti*))
Taking a better look at the kid, she certainly seemed grubby enough. He wouldn't be surprised if she'd done a little thieving herself to get by, so he couldn't totally dislike the kid. "...It's Van. And when did you suddenly become so buddy-buddy?" he asked as he looked up at Mala with a flat expression.

"rumors... right." he sounded a bit saracastic. as much as they seemed like trustworthy people, people generally went to taverns for certain, non-heroic, things. but, frankly, he didnt care much.

Mala gave a broad grin, proud that her little brother got called 'cute' - even if it was Van who was in the body at the time. "I did because I've got a cute little brother, that's why." she said, teasing Van with her talking in a baby-tone as she ventured forward to hug him close. Clearly, she was just trying to embarass Van.
Milly giggled at Mala's antics.

Van just looked back down at the kid. "Look, it's a long story, but I'm technically not her brother, so you can just forget she said anything."
((Seriously. Episode 1, first little interview this guy has (or whatever you want to call those person-to-camera moments reality shows have) the first words out of his mouth are 'I'm going to be the puppet master'. My family just face/palmed and groaned.))

Mala let go of Van and sat atop one of the crates, not wanting to be on her foot for longer than she had to be. It was easy to tell that this was the case, especially with the look on her face.
