[Pebbleheart fierce eyes to examine the area, not worrying about prey at the moment. When they arrive around the NightClan borders, then she will catch most preys, in BreezeClan territory of course. Pebbleheart raised her snout, trying to catch everyone's attention. She signaled with her tail in a swoosh motion for the others to follow.] "Great work BreezeClan! We shall commence further into our borders! Bring your prey with you!" Pebbleheart yowled, as she sprinted and dodged the trees.

[Serpentfang nodded and picked up the scrawny rabbit. She padded after Pebbleheart and turned to look back at Embergaze, giving him a sweet smile, welcoming him to follow. Her heart felt light with the joy of being with her friends on this patrol. It was a patrol after all that had brought her to Breezeclan, her home.

[Embergaze smiled at Serpentfang and Pebbleheart, his ears perked. He blinked as Pebbleheart moved on towards the next borders and followed promptly, his tail whisking from side to side. He glanced over the border and scanned the area with his glittering ember eyes for a few moments. Then, with a sigh, he padded forward, not seeing the beautiful glossy pelt he'd hoped would come running. I'll see her after the patrol then, he thought solemnly, padding forward to follow the others.]

Broken slowly padded into the boarder. There was always something weird about it, that she could easily go into a clan's amp and not be bothered. "Might as well count my blessings. I'd hate to fight in this condition...not that I'm helpless, just hungry. It is Leafbear after all. I could still win a fight if I had to" she mumbled to herself, refusing to accept any other reality. "I wonder where that snake kitty (Serpentfang)went? Or Birdystar (Galestar), or that Eagleflight (Eaglesoar) cat. He's my favorite clan kitty, he seems to hate cats too." she purred to herself while continuing her trek.

[The pure serenity of the winter wonderland was disturbed by a creeping shadow that slithered over the pure white, tainting it. From the darkness Forsaken emerged, it's glowing eyes spilling a faint crimson light over the snow. It smiled maliciously as it scanned the area to be sure that the cost was clear. The sent of a recent patrol was present but not the cats. Once the demon was sure it pulled Slasher froth from the darkness, letting his paws touch the equally cold snow. The demon turned it's dark gaze to it's only company in the empty border.] "So tell me my apprentice, what is it that caused such an unexpected reaction? Is there something on your mind?"

X X X X X X X X XxThe future will bring the l i g h t Slasher slid slightly to a stop. His long claws digging into the snow as he settled himself. He sighed as he began his story:
" My past is long and dreadful... Some good times... some bad...
When I was born something terrible had happened. I opened my eyes within the first two days. I saw my mother. She looked very much like me. I expected her to compliment my eyes or anything else..but..." Slasher paused. He unsheathed his claws completly. He lifted his front paw up. "She commented on my claws...
'Your claws! How large and ferocious they are! They are your father's mark. You will be a strong warrior, my son. You will slash through your enemies and protect those you love. You are Slasher!'" Slasher paused once more, allowing his story to begin to sink in as he rested his paw back down. "Well anyway... long story short, my parents died. Both in front of my eyes. Anyway... I was adopted by this old she-cat. She had no children of her own. She was an expert in herbs. And lets just say those berries are the cause of her death. She was old and couldnt see. I was out hunting. I wasnt far though. She ate the berry thinking it was the one that will help her. Sadly, because of it she died...." Slasher finished his past in a rush, sparing Foresaken the details. He looked up at Foresaken. "Well... thats whats on my mind. My past still haunts me. Oh and that wasnt everything in my past.... Unless... you wanted to know it all?" He asked.

[The dark spirit listened quietly to his trusted apprentice's tragic story. The demon could feel its cold, black heart sink.] I have heard of multiple cases of death berry incidences, i would have never guess that that was the cause of his loneliness. [The demon bowed it's head in respect for the dearly departed.]
"I was unaware of this Slasher. To me it sounds like she was trying to turn them into medicine, a possible but very dangerous and tricky procedure. You do not have to use the Death berries if you do not wish."
[Forsaken narrowed it's eyes, remembering it's own trials with learning about the berries, but it never turned out quite as tragic as Slasher's experience.] "You ma continue to speak if you wish, i am interested it learn of my apprentice." [The demon spoke smiling in a far less malicious way then it usually did.]

Something had attacked her. I knew not what it was. It was something dark and extremly large. 'Go Slasher! You must Survive! Leave now!' Before I could protest I was pushed out of the barn. I listened to my mother and ran. I didnt know what to do. I was lost and hungry. I returned to the barn and found my mothers body.... Slasher closed his eyes, holding back tears.
"They had torn her body. I was too weak to bury it. But someone else had. A twoleg who lived nearby, who had the sympathy and strength. I wandered a bit before finding my father. He heard my mew and his bright blood red eyes opened, blood flowing from them. He was surrounded in the sticky substance. 'My oh my! You are my son? What has your mother named you?' He had asked and I had unsheathed my tiny claws. He understood. 'Slasher... What a wonderful name. You have your mother's eyes, young Slasher. Do not worry. We will be with you... always... Farewell...my son...' Then he died. It was sad and I stayed with him for a while before leaving." Slasher sighed, allowing the dead of his parents to sink in.

(( I understand the symbol of bloody tears as a painful ordeal, but it's physically impossible for cats to cry blood unless they have a physical disorder/disease in their eyes. >>
Just wanted to clear that up. Great background story, but the bloody tears isn't possible. ; ^ ;" Edit it out, please? <3 ))

[Forsaken listened intently to the rest of it's apprentice's story, curling the tip of it's tail every once in a while. The demon closed it's eyes for s moment, feeling the sorrow catch in it's dark atmosphere. Usually the demon delighted in the feeling, but this sorrow just tasted of a bitter reminder of the harsh world in which they all lived in. When Forsaken opened it's glowing eyes it passed around Slasher.] "Slasher, I may not be able to bring your parents back, but there is one thing i can give." [The demon smiled it's sinister smile, the only smile it possessed.]
"You and i may have a different past, but both of us share the same result. The ones we once held so dear are now gone and only we remain. When you first asked if i would be your mentor I had my doubts, but now i am proud of my decision. As your mentor I plan to guide you to be the best that you can be, to not let you suffer alone as I have and have seen so many fall in after me, even if it was due to my own tricks." [ The white crack in the demon's face stretched as it looked down at their shadows.]
"As long as you cast a shadow, i will watch over you, never will i say farewell."

[Forsaken smiled darkly as it's apprentice bowed with thanks, it's crimson gaze following his.] "kekekekek I havent ever seen you smile quite like that before. No Slasher, thank you. I am just glad that i can help. It is what a mentor is meant to do after all, to guide." [The demon looked upon his apprentice, sensing that there were more thoughts dwelling in his mind.] It would seem that there is more to his past? No matter, he will tell me when he feels it is time. He has shared alot of his secrets already, that i am thankful for. [The dark spirit thought to itself. It would Seem that Slasher would struggle to get over his hatred of the berries long enough to harness them, and snake venom would make a poor substitute during the season of leaf bare.]
"My dear apprentice, I understand that you do not with to use the Death Barries, so instead i will teach you the next best thing." [The demon] "Since snake venom will be near impossible to find in this weather i will show you how to get others to find it for you. You remember your earlier lesson on how to convince the clan cats to fall into a trap correct? This will be similar, only you will have more control over the outcome."

If you use your charm and wits right this will be a simple task. You are to convince another cat to get it for you, despite the dangers of getting the ingredient itself. kekekekek" [The demon let out a sinister cackle.] "There are multiple ways of tricking a cat, weather it be from the clans or out on their own. For those who desire to help convince them that it is an emergency to save a life, an important ingredient for a cure. For those who are suspicious that it is beneficial to them, that in return you will give them what they seek. And for those who seek power, that they will gain your alliance as their unseen eyes. No matter who they are all cats fall to temptation, you just have to know what makes them tick. kekekekek" [The glow in the demon's eyes seemed to flicker like the light of a flame.] "I will guide you to the participant in this trial, you are to pick it up from there. Do you think you are ready Slasher?"
