The redhead nodded, still wondering what he'd do if he were in Dante's position. He'd never really thought about it before, as his Pokemon had never shown anything worse than indifference towards each other, at least in the beginning. They all got along quite well; Helios, Themis and Loki in particular, but that was probably because they'd been together the longest. Artemis and Althena were pretty easygoing even though the Golduck was a lot less happy-go-lucky since her evolution, and Tierra just didn't care enough one way or the other. I guess I've been lucky so far, he thought, wondering if his Skarmory would ever learn to be friendly.
Keegan also knew what Pokemon he wanted to use against Norman, or at least he thought he knew, but now that he'd started to think about it more he was starting to wonder if he should actually plan out some sort of strategy. He checked his watch, and sighed. "Ship will be leaving soon," he said idly, looking over at Dante. I really am the only one staying behind.

Glancing over at Keegan's watch for himself Dante was surprised at the time. "Huh, you are right." He muttered. "Wanna walk me to the pier honey? I don't know the next time I will see you love." Dante asked in a sort of sickly sweet voice. There was a small smile on his face though as he looked over at the other. Dante had missed the other redhead when he had left for his job for a bit. They had traveled together for a long time and both of them had had a lot of adventures between them. He was a little upset Keegan wasn't coming with everyone else but he did understand the others reasons. He wasn't going to argue with the other for not wanting to come, he was gathering the badges and was doing his own work as a trainer. Grabbing his bag that he had set on the ground he slung the messenger bag over his shoulder.
~~~~~~~~
It seemed like Katie's Staravia had pretty good eyes as after a second of searching she was diving straight for Roark's Geodude her wings glowing. The powerful bird type pokemon slammed right into the small Geodude sending him flying across the field. "Geodude catch yourself!" Roark ordered feeling a bit worried that this trainer's Staravia knew a move that put them at such a disadvantage. Still he was a gym leader and there was no way he was going to let that show it upset him.
Roark watched as his Geodude grabbed onto one of the Stealth Rocks and secure his position. The Geodude's rocky body was hurting from the force of that attack but still he knew he could battle on. He wasn't going to go down without a fight! "All right Geodude. Let's fire back with your Rock Throw!" The Geodude nodded and grabbing one of the nearby floating rocks he threw it at the Staravia, or one of the clones and hoped that it hit.
The silver doors of the elevator whooshed open and Kasiya and Cynthia stepped onto their desired floor, both looking around with wide eyes. "I just love these big stores!" Kasiya giggled, rushing over to a large display of brand new Pokeballs. "There must be a million of 'em," she said, carefully picking one up. "Look at all of them! Cynthia, can't you just imagine capturing a Pokemon in each and every one of these Pokeballs?"
Cynthia smiled at the girl's enthusiasm, and picked up one of the spheres as well. "Yes, I can imagine it," she said, spinning it on the tip of a slender finger before setting it back down with the others. "But bear in mind that if you were to own that many Pokemon, they'd all be your responsibility." She passed by the basic Pokeballs, glancing idly at the Great and Ultra Balls that were on display as well. She stopped in front of a shelf with a bunch of strangely coloured spheres, a giant 'new!' sign posted up above them. "Have a look at these," she said, nodding to the energetic girl. "These are new types of Pokeballs, most of which were developed in Sinnoh, and they've just imported them to Hoenn and the other regions."
Kasiya almost didn't notice the strange new types of Pokeballs right away as she was busy wondering what she'd do if she had that many Pokemon, but when she saw them she rushed over to the table beside Cynthia. "Oh wow," she said, picking up a blue ball with a yellow criss-cross pattern across it. "What's this?" she asked. "Oh, and this one?" The second sphere she picked up was black with red horizontal stripes. It seemed shinier and nicer than all the other Pokeballs.
"Oh, that's a Quick Ball," Cynthia said, taking it from Kasiya for a moment to examine it. "It works best if you use it within the first few turns of battle. And that one," she exchanged the Quick Ball with the other one, "this one is a Luxury Ball. It's a very luxurious type of Pokeball that is said to be more comfortable than a normal Pokeball. It also helps to make your Pokemon friendlier to you."
"I see," Kasiya nodded, taking back the Luxury Ball as well. "I wish I had that Luxury Ball when I captured Casimir," she mumbled to herself, wondering if it would have helped the Absol to come around quicker. But nevertheless, she decided to buy it and the Quick Ball, as they both seemed pretty useful. She also hadn't spotted Jason yet but she was sure he was around somewhere. Sure enough, as she approached the cashier she saw him, though it seemed as though he'd fallen asleep in the middle of paying for the Net Ball he'd evidently discovered. "Oh, he fell asleep again," Kasiya sighed. "Sorry about that," she said to the clerk, smiling apologetically. "Hey Jason, now's not the time for a nap! Give the nice man the money!" she said loudly, shaking the boy's shoulder as she looked around for Zeus. Where was the Magnemite when he was needed for a wake up call? On second thought she didn't want to get shocked, so she continued to shake the narcoleptic boy until she got a response from him.
=-=-=-=-= "Damn," Surge muttered as he watched his Voltorb get flung back like a ping-pong ball by a second powerful Confusion attack. He was a little surprised to see that the Ball Pokemon was still 'standing', so to speak, and he knew that it wouldn't take much more to bring it down. The Gym Leader did not waver, however, and remained strong. "We ain't done yet, Missy!" he barked. "Voltorb, Spark!"
The Electric-type made an almost tired-sounding buzz and charged up the electricity one more time and, and it sped forward, knowing that it was going for broke with this final attack. I'll let her think she's got me cornered, the lieutenant thought with a smirk, but she ain't seen nuthin' yet!
Jason continued to sleep unknowingly, now being shaken by his new friend as well as the cashier. Zeus who was watching this couldn't do anything because shocking the clerk or the blond one wasn't something he planned to do. Jason was the one causing trouble after all. But sure enough his eyes opened suddenly, letting go of the ball and causing the clerk to tumble back and hit his head hard. "Eh? What? Hey, what cha doing napping down there for, I said I wanted to buy the Net Ball! Oh hey Kassie." Jason said with a smile as he turned around, stepping back away from Kasiya's shaking. "Oh, you gonna get some pokeballs to? Oh wow, those looks cool! But good luck, I think the clerk's taking a snooze. How unprofessional." Jason sighed shaking his head as he took the money out of his wallet and placed it on the counter, leaning his body over the counter to grab the ball that had rolled out of the clerk's hand. "Dude should eat his veggies or something. I think it's ok if we just leave the money on the counter." Jason smiled, holding his new net Ball and putting it in his bag, seriously unaware of his wrong doings. He was now noticing the other older woman that was near by and smiled. "Oh wow, who's that pretty lady? Friend of yours? Hi, my name's Jas-" As Jason extended his hand for a shake Zeus decided to strike, raining down a mighty jolt, he was on a roll. Jason must have been real excited about going to this Sinnoh place cause he never had to be shocked this much normally. Jason jumped up from the jolt and came back down, a small flame burning at the top of his hat from the electricity. "-on....ouch."
Riza wasn't at all surprised to see that Voltorb wasn't down for the count yet as it was the Pokemon of a gym leader, after all. Surge ordered another spark attack and once again the ball shaped Pokemon rolled towards Yula, sparking with electricity. Riza looked to her Kirlia and smiled to herself. The psychic type still seemed like she could last a while longer, and Riza hoped that was a good thing. If they could take down Voltorb, Surge would be down to his last Pokemon and she would be one step closer to winning her very first important battle.
"Yula, jump up and use magical leaf," the dark haired girl called. The Kirlia nodded and did just that, jumping up so that the electrified voltorb passed beneath her. Yula spun around in the air, looking very much like a tiny ballerina as she held her arms over her head. Her skirt fanned out around her as she twirled, and soon a rain of glowing green leaves came cascading down towards the electric-type. * * * * * Roark's Geodude had pretty good aim as well as the thrown rock sped through the air and struck Noa square in the chest, and the bird faltered in the air for a moment before regaining her composure. Katie knew that rock-type moves did a lot of damage to flying-types like Noa, and she seriously hoped that they could avoid taking anymore hits like that. "Blend in with your clones and then go in for another steel wing," Katie directed. Like Roark, she wasn't going to let any of her worries show as she was more concerned with proving to the gym leader that she was worthy of his badge.
The Staravia, still hurting from taking that rock from before sped up into the air and disguised herself among her clones. Noa then began to dive towards the battlefield once more, the birds all flying with her as one. Again their wings all started to glow at once as she homed in on the rock that Geodude was clinging to. Noa suddenly realized that the angle at which the Geodude was hanging on to the rock would make it impossible to hit him directly, so instead she directed her attack onto the stealth rock he was holding. Her steely wings smashed into the large rock, breaking it apart and sending smaller rocks and debris raining down to the battlefield below. Katie couldn't help but hope that somehow the Geodude might have taken some indirect damage from Noa's tactic, but either way she was already thinking of her next move.
Both Kasiya and Cynthia just stood there, watching with awe as the Magnemite lived up to his reputation and gave Jason yet another good jolt. Kasiya chuckled nervously and peered over the counter at where the store clerk lay, slowly beginning to stir. Kasiya took the money out of her pocket and set it on the counter next to Jason's, pointing at the two spheres she intended to by. The cashier nodded, giving Jason a particularly nasty look as he rung up the two purchases and gave the blonde girl back her change. "Have a nice day," he mumbled, turning his back on the two kids. Kasiya was sure she heard him muttering something to himself about kids being crazy, but she decided to ignore it. She grinned up at Cynthia, who'd been standing beside her, looking a little embarrassed by the two. "This is my friend Jason," she said, pointing at the boy as though he hadn't been standing there the entire time. "And this here's Cynthia," she said, gesturing to the tall, lovely woman. "She's from Sinnoh! And that's not all," she went on excitedly. "Cynthia's the current reigning Sinnoh League Champion! Isn't that awesome?!"
Cynthia gave an embarrassed laugh and scratched the back of her head. "Yes, that's me," she said, deciding to refrain from shaking Jason's hand for now as there was a good possibility that there was some electricity lingering in his body from the Magnemite's electric shock. "Hello Jason, it's nice to meet you," she said. "Your hat seems to be on fire," she added, laughing a little. It was quite refreshing for her to meet all these energetic kids on her travels, and she couldn't help but wonder what their futures had in store for them. Our meeting here today has surely set something in motion, she thought.
=-=-=-=-= It was Surge's turn to not be surprised as the Kirlia jumped up and over his Voltorb before unleashing a flurry of Magical Leaves that there was no hope in hell of avoiding. The Ball Pokemon buzzed loudly as the attack hit, and as the glowing leaves vanished Voltorb was sitting in place, eyes squeezed firmly shut.
The gentleman nodded and looked to Pikachu, who quickly raised the red flag. "Pi pikachu," he said.
"In other words, Voltorb is unable to battle, Kirlia is the victor!" the gentleman chuckled, patting the electric mouse on the head fondly.
Surge's expression was calm as he returned Voltorb to its Pokeball, and it didn't change as he fastened it to his belt. He then held up his third and final Pokeball, a smirk starting to spread across his face. "Impressive so far, Missy," he called. "But you ain't outta the woods yet! This last one ought to really shock you! Go!" he bellowed as he hurled the sphere to the ground. Surge's final Pokemon took form before the Kirlia, sparks flaring from his round, yellow cheeks. Surge's Raichu was easily his trademark Pokemon, and it wouldn't be taken down easily. The mouse stood confidently in front of his master, his expression and mannerisms mimicking those of Surge. "Okay Raichu, let's teach 'em a thing or two about Electric-type Pokemon! Use Mega Punch, go!" the gym leader shouted.
At once, Raichu responded to his master's command, and the mouse rushed forward, rearing back his right fist, which had started to glow with a bright, white light which he thrust towards the Kirlia. It had been a while since the last time he'd shut down a challenger and he was eager to make up for it right now.
=-=-=-=-= As soon as Voltorb fell, Jaeshan knew exactly which Pokemon Surge would be sending out, and the gym leader would not disappoint. Raichu was not only Surge's staple Pokemon, but also his best, and he remembered that it had given him quite a bit of trouble when he battled against it. "This ought to be good," he said to himself, leaning forward in his seat as Raichu launched a Mega Punch.
Roark was a bit disappointed as one of his larger Stealth Rocks broke up and Geodude was sent flying again hitting the ground but not taking to much damage. "Geodude I hope your ok. I need you to use your Rock Polish, we need to speed you up." Roark encouraged pushing his slight framed glasses up his nose a bit as he watched his pokemon recover himself on the battle field. The Geodude picked himself up and looking around he posted a bit of cover and flew over to a nearby rock. Once behind the relative safety of the rock the Geodude focused his energy and soon a strange sort of sheen appeared on him as his rough edges seemed to smooth out a little. When he was done the small Geodude kind of looked like a cannon ball with arms on it.
"Eh? Oh thanks." Jason said calmly as he took his hat off and tossing it on the ground and stomping out the spreading flame. "Hmm, I don't think this hat's gonna be much use...to...me. THE REIGNING SINNOH LEAGUE CHAMPION!" Jason's jaw dropped at that information, he'd never expected to meet someone like that ever in his life! "Oh wow, what an honor! J-Jason Argo, and this is my friend Zeus! Um, wow, champion of the pokemon league...that's not just something special, that's REALLY something special! I mean, you must know all sorts of things about pokemon. Not only battling but like all sorts of useful information and bits of advice you picked up on your journeys, no doubt. To be come champion is like...wow. And here I am being all electrified and stuff, how embarrassing! I'm so sorry Cynthia. Ah, and you know her Kassie?" He said turning to her, shaking her like she had shaken him. "No way! You must be like a super famous tough trainer too then right! Wow this so great, there's so much I could learn!" He stopped shaking Kasiya suddenly as he turned back to Cynthia, his head buzzing with so many questions. "Um, what's it like being champ? You still travel? I mean of course you travel, you're here in Hoenn after all. But do you travel a lot? Have you seen many pokemon? Oh what kind of pokemon do you have? Do you have them with you now? Oh I'd love to sketch them and takes some notes if you'll let me! I'm a pretty good at drawing pokemon I think see!" Jason was speaking so fast he wasn't even sure if he even understood himself, but he was already getting his pad out flipping through to his latest sketch of Turn A and showing it to the champion. "I-I hope to be a renown pokemon researcher some day, out in the fields like Professor Birtch! I think that being a researcher is like the coolest thing in the world ever, getting to study pokemon and observe them helping to unravel the mysteries that surround these magnificent beings. The best. Oh um, not that being League Champ isn't cool. Cause I'm sure it is. Heh heh heh." Jason was scratching his head, embarrassed and sure he'd just made a huge fool out of himself in front of such an important person.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Crenu watched as Yula was struck with a powerful Thunderbolt, only to retaliate with another confusion. That's all that she could really do right now, keep plugging away at the enemy now that they are hurt and take advantage when it stops to attack. And it seemed to be working, after Voltorb took that second confusion it really looked hurt, but being a gym leaders pokemon Crenu wasn't surprised to see it back up and rolling again, coming around for another Spark. "...I see. Surge has already decided that Voltorb has lost. He's just sending it in for a last chance to do some damage before being taken out. But will it work?" He said mostly to himself, still watching carefully for any interesting changes. Riza's Kirlia dodged the attack with such grace and countered with that odd grass type move he'd seen before, Magical Leaf. He still found it rather odd coming from a Psychic type, but that wasn't important. He knew it was a move that couldn't be dodged, and just like that Voltorb was taken down. "One left to go...What's it gonna be Lieutenant?" Surge's final pokemon was out on the field, a rather powerful looking Raichu that almost resembled it's trainer ready for the fight. He looked over at Jaeshan, then back at the field to see a Mega Punch being executed. "Indeed."
Portabello nodded in approval of the Machop's speedy takedown. Very good Sir Maxi. I wouldn't have wanted to cross fists with that Pokemon; for its own sake. Though the Breloom certainly didn't flaunt it, he was one of Mike's most powerful Pokemon, and he knew it. Though he would if he had to, Portabello disliked seriously fighting Pokemon of a lower skill than his. However, in his master's current state, he felt the next worthy challenge wouldn't be for a while. Personal glory would always take the side-car to his master's well being.
Speak of the devil, Mike once again began to stir atop his warm dragon perch. The boy let out a loud yawn and arced his back, a few sickening popping sounds racing up his spine. "Hmm-hmm-hmm!" he chuckled. "That hit the spot." He slumped back down on top of his Charizard and rolled over, his head halfway buried in his arms. Mike lazily lifted his head up and stared at the newcomer across the cavern. "Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in my cave?"
Master! Portabello interrupted. Don't you remember? This is the new friend I spoke of: Maxi.
Mike's eyes widened at the mention of the boy's name. "Maxie!?" he shouted, . His breaths quickly became irregular as a cold sweat began to pour down his face. "How dare you follow me all the way here! Haven't you done enough!?" He snarled as he jumped off of his Pokemon, growling loudly at the boy. "Wuh-wait..." He stumbled back, falling to the ground. Mike shook his head and had another look at the boy. "It's not...you're not Maxie... Just an unfortunate coincidence. Heh-heh. Just like me to fly off the handle like that. Hee-heehee!" He laughed as he picked himself up from the ground, adding another layer on his already admirable coating of dirt and grime. Suffice to say, he looked great. "But, why did you bring someone here Portabello?" The boy turned to his Breloom. "Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of self-imposed exile? You of all people know how dangerous I am in this state!"
Forgive me master. Portabello sullenly replied. Seeing you so lonesome was more than I could bear, and I foolishly brought someone here despite your wishes. I am shamed. He chose to leave out what happened when him and Maxi entered the cave. That would only make the situation worse. Portabello silently apologized to Mike once more for keeping that from him. I will accept any punishment you give me. The Pokemon knelt down and hung his head.
Mike laughed a crooked laugh. It was like he had forgotten how to sound anything short of frightening. "Now now Portabello. I could never willingly punish you for acting in my best interest. Just try to think things out next time. I'm counting on you to be my brain, okay P.B.?"
It appeared that Mike had no recollection of Milo's horrible treatment of Napalm , Portabello thought to himself. Yes my master. the Breloom quickly nodded and stood back to his feet.
"As for you." Mike motioned for his Pokemon to come and returned his gaze to the newcomer. "I'd suggest you leave at once. As you can no doubt guess, I am in no condition to be battling." A chuckle escaped his lips, and the boy quickly covered his mouth. "Not to mention, if all you have is two Pokemon, a fight might not be in your best interest anyw-." The boy's sentence trailed off as something past the boy caught his eye. A smile sprang forth on his face.
What is it master? inquired Portabello. Both Nitro and Napalm were equally curious.
"It's a...it's a!"
 Wild Torkoal Appeared!
"It's just like the one Flannery has!" The boy yelped joyfully, clapping his hands together like a kid at Christmas. The Torkoal looked around at the sudden noise, unaware of the source. "Heeheehee! It's so cute! I must have it." He raced over to his bag and furiously dug through it in search of an empty Pokeball, but to his horror he found none. "Aw no! NO NO NO NO NO! This can't be happening!" He wailed, slamming his fist into the ground. But then, a thought popped into his head. The boy's head turned slowly towards his 'new friend'. "Maxi was it? Nnn-heeheehee..." Mike flashed an awful smile. "You wouldn't happen to have an extra Pokeball or two lying around would you?" He stood up and walked over to the boy, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You see, this is a matter of great importance. You see that girl over there?" He nodded towards the collage on the wall. "That there is my sweetheart, my one true, my darling: Flannery Moore. Now, she's like air to me; I need her, and she's got a Torkoal just like that. It's her prized Pokemon actually. I need to catch that Pokemon out there, so I can show it to her. You see, we had a little bit of a falling out a few days ago. Mostly a misunderstanding. Something about a lot of people dying and it being my fault, me going crazy and breaking out of a mental hospital and assaulting people." He giggled at the recollection, like he was proud of it or something. "But with this, I can finally show her that I'm not crazy! Ha ha ha ha!" He laughed, the smile never leaving his face.
"Hhn-hhn-hn-hn-HN! Now that's where you come in friend." The last word dragged on with a low growl. "I need your help catching that, because I've got no Pokeballs left. Just lend me a few, and I'll be sure to pay you back as soon as possible! Don't you see? Y-you'd be doing me a world of good!" Mike loosened his hold on the boy's shoulder, which he had not realized had become like a vice grip, especially with his long, uncut nails. "So what'dya say?" He looked into the other boy's eyes pleadingly and awaited a response. He would get them either way, he just hoped for the other boy's sake that it wasn't the hard way.
Sasha smiled reassuringly towards Eraku as he stood in front of the Golbat, which was probably dying right there in front of him. "No worries, mon ami." she said sweetly. "Every'sing will be fine!" She reached around and hugged her new avian chauffeur. "Giddy ap!" she cried.
"Alright, let's go Pidgeot!" the boy commanded. The bird Pokemon spread its magnificent wings and in an instant the two were in the skies. Sasha let out a surprised yelp as the initial kickback almost dislodged her from her seat on the bird. Very soon the ground disappeared beneath them, and the adrenaline kicked in. What a rush! she thought. This is so much more exciting than wind sufing! The wind rushed by her and she had to keep a hand on her head so her kerchief didn't fly off. "Hahahaha! WEEEEEEEEEE!" she cried out, pumping her free fist into the air.
"Having fun there, babe?" the boy asked, still holding on to his Pokemon.
"Oh, oui!" Sasha replied, ignoring the 'babe' remark and reverting to her ditsy persona. "C'est très excitant!"
"Haha, yeah..." He feigned interest. I better get something good out of this. thought the boy, his mind wandering to Sasha's plentiful chest.
Riza breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Surge recall his Voltorb, and she grinned broadly at Yula as she made her way back towards her trainer's side. "You're doing well!" she said to the Kirlia. "But we're not out of the woods yet!" she said as the gym leader prepared to send out his last Pokemon.
After the discussion she'd had with Crenu over what Pokemon Surge would have, Riza was fully expecting to see a raging Electabuzz emerge from the poke ball so she was a little surprised when a Raichu appeared. It seemed to take after Surge in every aspect, and it even seemed a little bigger than the Raichu she'd seen before, interestingly the one that belonged to Surge's daughter, though Riza was unaware of the relation between the two. "Mega punch!?" she repeated, though her voice was just a squeak. She saw the Raichu's glowing fist and she knew that she couldn't let something like that connect with her Kirlia. "Yula! Teleport!" she cried quickly.
Yula, who'd been staring wide-eyed at the oncoming Raichu nodded quickly. That sounded like a really, really good idea! The emotion Pokemon closed her eyes and bowed her head, and she vanished from the spot as she initiated her teleportation and appeared safely again on the other side of the arena. 'Good, now it will have to cover ground if it wants to hit Yula,' Riza thought, hoping that she'd be able to get a few attacks in on Surge's Raichu before Yula was too tired to battle anymore. * * * * * Noa continued to fly overhead as Roark called out for rock polish, and Katie nodded. 'Okay he's trying to speed it up,' she thought. "Don't let that get to you, Noa," she shouted. "You're still fast too!" The bird remained quiet as she flew around with her copies so as not to give her position away by sound, and she looked down, trying to spot the Geodude below. It was the sheen around the rocky Pokemon that gave away his position, and now with his body looking so smooth he'd be much easier to spot against all the rougher rocks. Harder to hit now that he was faster, but easier to see.
'I hate using the same attack over and over again but at this point we don't have any other choice,' Katie thought, glancing over at Roark. He was calm and confident and she admired that about him. He was just how she'd expect a gym leader to act, collected and professional. "Steel wing again!" she called. The Staravia nodded, keeping her eyes trained towards the round Geodude before she went into a dive, her clones spreading out around her as they all prepared to use steel wing, though only one would be the real thing.
There is no way that Geodude could make it through another Steel Wing, the damage from falling and the first Steel Wing had done a lot of damage to the sturdy Geodude. "Geodude grab a rock and hold steady!" Roark ordered as he watched the various Staravia clones dive for Geodude.
Moving faster then usual the Geodude grabbed a decent sized rock that was floating nearby. "Wait for it Geodude!" Roark called out as the Staravia got closer and closer to his Geodude. The closer the Staravia got the easier it was to tell it apart from the other clones. Roark just hoped that the rock Geodude was about to throw would cause the Staravia to miss. "Now! Use your Rock Throw again!" Geodude nodded and using his enhanced speed he lobbed the rock at the Staravia. Unfortunately for the Geodude he had guessed the clone wrong and the rock went right through it. The real Staravia crashed right into Geodude sending him down onto the ground completely knocked out.
'Damn.' Roark thought as he reached for his pokeball and recalled his fallen pokemon. "You did a good job today Geodude." Roark told his fallen pokemon before putting his pokeball back. On the gym screen that had been lit up the whole time but no one paid much attention to it Geodude's picture faded out. "All right I hope you are ready for my next pokemon! Onix show no mercy!" Roark grinned as he tossed out his next pokeball. Out of it popped the large rock snake pokemon who let out a loud roar as it looked down at his new opponents.
"So where you from?" the boy asked after a bit of silence. He figured the girl was waiting for him to say something, but truth be told she was much more interested in the scenery.
"Celedon City." she replied, still focused on the sights.
"I'm from Ecruteak in Johto. You ever been to Johto?"
Ecruteak...Ecruteak... Why was that name so familiar? Something told her that she should remember something about that plac-"Oh non! Ma cadette peu mignon!" She forgot about Kirsa! Sasha reached around and grabbed her bag, pulling out her phone (and making sure to give the hyperventilating Omelette a pat on the head). In a peach colored blur, Sasha rapid fired a text message to her little friend. It read:
My cute little cadet,
Good news, I caught that Fearow I wanted! However, there is a slight change in plans. I'm being flown to Lilycove, so I'll just meet you there okay? See you there!
xoxoxo, Sasha
Real women of class texted with correct punctuation, she thought with a smile as the little Pidgey icon carried the letter off into the distance, signifying a sent message. She snapped it shut.
"You good?" the boy asked, slightly annoyed.
"Oh, oui!" replied Sasha with a smile. "I just had to send mai leetle friend a text because I meesed her."
"Marvalous." said the boy, looking down at his map application on his Pokenav. "We should be there any minute now, so you should, you know, hold on tight! You wouldn't want to fall would you?"
Sasha rolled her eyes and grabbed onto the boy's waist, Lilycove's tall buildings coming into view.
"There it is: Lilycove City." the boy pointed to the ever approaching buildings on the horizon. "It's amazing to see it rebuilt so fast don't you think?"
"Rebui-oh...yeah." Sasha's mood plummeted. She had almost forgotten about Mike's involvement with that horrible incident. Images from the beach party began to flash in her mind. The girl shook her head, dislodging said thoughts from her head. However, she hoped he was okay, wherever he was.
"And there's the Pokemon center." said the boy. "Hold on tight!" Sasha could hear the glee rise in his voice as she wrapped her arms around his waist. As they descended, a familiar red-headed speck appeared on the ground. Was that? It was! Keegan! There was another boy beside him that she didn't recognize, but this was just too perfect. Time to have some fun at grumpy's expense! she giggled, her 'evil' intentions masked by her melodious voice. He appeared to be having a conversation, but that was boring. At least, it was a lot more boring than what she was planning on doing. As soon as they touched down, Sasha sprang from her seat and raced towards the boy. "Keegan, mon amour!" She tackled him to the ground and pressed up against him. "I missed you so much my sweet! This boy right here was nice enough to fly me all the way from Kanto just to see you!" Her accent was as thick as the lies she spoke.
The boy's mouth hung open at the prospect of this girl having a boyfriend, and started to glare daggers at the unsuspecting boy. Sasha laughed internally, happy to be the spark that ignited any sort of fun around this otherwise unfun boy.
Cynthia wasn't at all surprised by the sudden barrage of questions thrown at her by Jason, as it was something that happened quite regularly when she went out in public. Despite her status she honestly didn't think it made her any better than anyone else; a bit more experienced in the ways of training Pokemon perhaps, but not better. She believed that if anyone worked hard, they could obtain the kind of ranking she had. "You want to be a Pokemon researcher?" she asked Jason, genuinely interested now. She took the sketchbook from the boy's hands and examined the sketch of the Porygon2. "This is excellent," she said, nodding as she handed the book back to him. "I'd be honored if you'd sketch my Pokemon, but not here, of course." She adjusted the shopping bags in her hand. "If I'm not mistaken, we should probably be going, shouldn't we? You could ask as many questions as you want once we are on the ship, as well."
Kasiya, who'd been standing alongside Cynthia but not really paying attention to the conversation (as she'd bombarded the Champion with the same sort of questions during the flight from Slateport to Lilycove the day earlier) but when Cynthia mentioned that they should be going, she snapped back to attention. "Oh man, you're right!" she exclaimed, looking at her watch. It was past eleven, and she didn't want to be late. She was also interested in seeing Cynthia's Pokemon, though she had more in mind than sketches and note-taking. "Let's go then," she said, reaching forward and grabbing Jason's arm and yanking him towards the elevator. "You too, Cynthia! We don't want to miss it!" The Champ smiled followed after the two, a little envious of their seemingly boundless energy.
=-=-=-=-= Raichu had been primed and ready to totally sock it too the green and white Pokemon, and he'd thrust his Mega Punch forward, only to have the sneaky Kirlia vanish. Now lacking a target, the mouse's punch hit nothing but air and he teetered forward, falling flat on his stomach. Growling angrily, he got to his feet, sparks raining from his cheeks. Surge laughed out loud as the scene unfolded, as it had possibly been the best way to dodge Mega Punch that he'd ever seen. Brute force ain't gonna work this time, he thought, scratching his chin. If she wants ta be sneaky, well, we can play it that way, too!
"Raichu, Shock Wave," he commanded next. He wasn't sure how the mechanics of the no-miss move would work with Teleport, but he was sure it would still hit. Not too many challengers showed up at Vermilion Gym with Psychic-types. Raichu, still fuming over the fact that he'd missed a chance to land his favourite attack, whirled around and raised his paws high in the air as he unleashed a jolt of electricity that arched through the air towards Yula. Dodge that! the mouse thought furiously.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan remembered well that Mega Punch, though even he couldn't help but chuckle at Raichu's misfortune. He could still see Mightyena taking the Mega Punch-uppercut to the chin in his mind's eye, though that hit had been no laughing matter. Looking back to Riza's Kirlia, he knew that she hadn't taken much damage yet, but Raichu was capable of dishing out some seriously strong hits, especially when it came to electric attacks. The Shock Wave looked strong, and barring Protect or Detect, he was sure there was no other way around it. "Stay strong, you two!" he called encouragingly.
