Megan laughed. "I guess. I don't know, I can think of plenty of things I'd rather get instead of an ear. I'd rather someone say 'hey, this is yours' while the body part is still connected."

He nodded thoughtfully, putting a hand over his chest. "Something like, although this heart beats within my body, it truly belongs to you," he spoke softly.

"Exactly." Megan smiled. "It's...cheesy, but cute, and romantic. Like something out of a chick flick..." She laughed, cheeks pinking just a bit.

"It's not bad," Makoto laughed, thanking the waiter as their bread and drinks were brought over. "Call me old fashioned, but flowers and chocolate seem to do the trick," he laughed. "Paying for a meal, letting the girl wear my coat," he rambled, smiling as he was seemingly lost in his thoughts of romance.

Megan laughed and nodded at the waiter, picking up her drink and taking a sip. "That's really really sweet, you know that?"

"My mum says I am, but I've had some pretty horrid luck with girls," Makoto chuckled. "I used to have a pretty snappy attitude, though. I think I've more than mellowed out."

He cracked a smile, nodding. Finally, he took a bite of his bread, sighing happily as their food was brought. "This looks good," he said.

"Definitely," Makoto agreed, gathering some pasta on his fork with the swirl of his fingers. He put it up to his mouth, taking a bite. "Mmmmmm," he moaned in appreciation as he chewed.

Megan took a bite of her breath, dipping it down into her spaghetti sauce. "I can see why people would rave about this place. This is fantastic stuff!"

Megan smiled as she ate in silence for a few minutes, looking around between bites. "So...what do you do for fun? Besides paint?" she said, looking back to him.

"I can't say I spend my time doing much else. I like video games and art in general. I spend a good amount of time talking to my mum," Makoto rambled. "I talk to her a lot about my dad, what he was like, and such..." he spoke, his voice trailing off as he lowered his gaze sadly.
