"Hmm...perhaps we should go to this bar you speak of...it's probably the one I got drunk at the other night...heh." Artemis giggled.
"Pickles are...well...I guess they're just cucumbers." she added, wondering what the stuff they were floating in was. 'Hmm...best to not mention the juices,' she thought to herself, fishing one out of the jar and offering it to Haseo.
"Try one."

He sniffed it cautiously, and sneezed, " Smells sour... Is it supposed to be that way?" After studying it for a while he let his curiosity get the best of him, and bit the tip off. He crunched it for a while not minding the taste, then his dark eyes widened and he shivered from the legs up, " Ah! what is this!" she staggered backward and his nose scrunched up, " It's so... so sour!"

Toleranth "Don't talk bad about yourself, your already stronger then I am, and its just as important to protect you as it is for me to protect myself. We'll learn to be stronger together, but you have a leg up in that field considering you can use magic better then i can." Ian shook his head, "No, I'm still as weak, if not weaker, than you are. I may have a lot of magic, but i risk destroying my body when i use it." he pulled his knees to his chest, "My body is too small to hold such power, so if i use too much it could disintegrate me."

Artemis began cackling at his reaction, "I think they're soaked in vinegar. They're 'pickled' cucumbers."
She finished rummaging through the cupboards and drawers, not finding any bread.
"We should go back to that bar." she decided, "To get some food if nothing else."

Haseo shuttered one last time then stood up straight again, " Alright, but do you have any gold pieces? I believe the Lady left you some if you don't." He clomped and slid through the kitchen and landed on the soft carpet in the living room, then struggled up the wooden stairs. once at the top he grabbed a pouch out of Guen's room and struggled back down the stairs, his hind legs slipping down the last two. Haseo set the bag in her hand and snorted, " That's what she left. It was her payment from the last modeling job she did."

Ailes shot out of bed screaming, "Toole Toole!!! My dad is badly hurt!!! and everyone is under attack! We need to go now! I'm scared..." she ran over to where he laid and held onto him shaking and crying. ~~~~~~~~ Ive heard the commotion upstairs and looked at Onora. she nodded and Ive ran for the door. Just as she reached out for the handle it swung open and one of the civilians on duty yelled that Rodasia's gate city is under attack. The people in the bar rose up and grabbed their swords and daggers the children ran in back to hide, and ran out the door to fight off the unwelcome visitors. Ive stepped out into the streets to see that the fight had already begun, so she teleported to her house and grabbed her sword from upstairs. while she ran through her house to lock everything up she sent a Psychic message out to neighboring villages, that the gate to Rodasia was being closed down and no one could leave or come in till this was over. Ive cringed at how her boss,Dios, was going to react, but she shrugged it off thinking about all the parties he was attending and how he would be too busy to notice. then she tensened as she realized that his attendant never missed a damn thing. a shiver went down her spine as she could almost hear her clipboard hitting her door the next morning... but none of that mattered now. Her door got pushed in on her as the children of the little village flooded into her house. she directed them all to the basement and had the teens help them down there. Ive smiled, "Good, I'm glad we had that planned out... it worked nicely too." one of the teens nodded in approval and went down in the basement. She rushed out and as soon as she stepped off her steps she was slicing soldiers down. she cut her way to the gate and sighed. Closing her eyes she sent a message out to Toleranth, "I have to close the gate till we get our barrings... I'm sorry." she climbed up and tapped the stone and it turned black. her people cheered for they knew that no more intruders could come in and the ones who were in couldn't get out. The battle was easily won after that and the villagers grabbed their weapons and more arrived from neighboring towns. she faced the crowd, "Are we ready?" They all sheathed their weapons and rolled up their sleeves, taking the usual stance for basic barrier summoning. Ive smiled and re-opened the gate. The villagers created a semi-permeable barrier that would only allow 50 people in at a time. If fifty soldiers came through the gate, then they were cut down, if Arynian civilians came threw, they were rushed into homes to be healed by healers who on stand-by for any wounded.

Toole shot up carrying her with him; "What the hell is going on, there is fighting in the streets here, screw this, i don't have time to deal with this." He set Ailes down and removed his amulet. He scooped Ailes up with his tail and set her atop his head, a sticky spell held her from falling off, but she could move around only if she had one part of touching toole.
He moved forward picking up speed, he jumped up into the air making the turn slowly for the gateway. "Ailes if you can get word to the gateway were going through, so whatever their doing make sure we can get through, and hold on this will be a tight squeeze."

Ailes smirked, "See how it's got an oily look to it... It means it's semi-permeable... we can go through i promise." she laid flat against Toole and held tight. Ive jumped off the gate and looked up at Toole, "You take care of her now, y'hear!! Don't get too reckless!"

Toole gliding in low lining up for the gate and grabbing a arynia soldier along the way he pushed through the gate after folding his wings. The solider's use became apparent on the other side as she threw his body like a stone to crush a ballistic spear being set up.

"Hm, this should be enough..." she said, shaking the bag lightly. The jingling of coins could be heard through the cloth, and Artemis smiled at the sound.
"Okay, let's go then!" so saying, she marched out the door and down the street, fully expecting Haseo to be following her.

Haseo trotted out the door and staggered down the steps, but continued to follow Artemis through the crowd of people, " Friend of the Lady... what is going on... Why are all these people here?"

Jezabelle woke up and sat up yawning; "I missed dinner, I hope no one is looking for me, because I feel bad for making them worry." Jezabelle looked at Ian laying beside his tree and smiled. She licked a finger and very gently touched his cheek, and standing up she walked into the house to see what she could scavage up for dinner.

 Ian felt a wet spot on his cheek and sat up. he didn't see Jezabelle anywhere, but he knew she was safe, despite the commotion in the streets below. He stretched and flew to the kitchen to see what she was fixing to eat.

Jezabelle smiled; "I found some dried beef, I threw it in with some noodles, hopefully the heat and the water will soften the meat down a bit. Its not the best dinner in the world, but i wanted to make something simple. You feeling better, I'm sorry for stopping kaos, I didn't like hearing you in pain, and it sounded like he was killing you."
