Squall half-smirked. He can sleep standing up. He nodded again at Quistis.
Good. It's less crowded than last year, despite the fact that there are more graduates.
"Then again, I only stayed a few hours last year. That was back when it all started. The next day, I met Rinoa. Well, formally at least."
He looked over at the young sorceress leaning into his side, and smiled.
"Look how far things have come..."
He looked back, catching Seifer's look, and rolled his eyes in agreement.

Oh, we're doing just fine! I'm so much better now. And it's okay, I wasn't in there too long anyway.
-She grins and hugs Quistis, and in turn Seifer, before backing up a step again to gaze at them both with a dreamy yet methodical glitter in her eyes.-

She hugged Rinoa back, much happier at what you told her.
Well, you two enjoy the rest of your evening.. turning back to Seifer, the faintest mark of a smirk was about to appear. Well Almasy, are we going to dance or are you going to stand around with that smug look on your face. Come on.. giggling softly, she pulled Seifer over to the dance floor.

He looked over, and saw that look in Rinoa's eyes.
"Oh Hyne no... Not again..."
Sighing internally, he still remembered the last time she'd gotten that look in her eyes. That one practical joke she'd been trying to play on Zell, that had backfired on him because she'd neglected to inform him about it beforehand.
He still suspected there was some pink dye somewhere in his hair, that no one was telling him about...

Because the last time I saw that look was when you tried to rig the training room door to drop that pink dye onto Zell, and you forgot to tell me about it...
He didn't need to tell her the rest. She'd seen him standing at the doorway to her shared dorm, covered in pink dye, sputtering, completely pissed off. When she'd told him it was her idea, he hadn't spoken to her for two days afterward.

She seemed to be taking charge of everything this evening, probably only feeling comfortable doing so. She had placed your right hand on her waist, her right held in your left, thus beginning to dance.
Please tell me you're a good dancer? her gaze travelled over to Squall, thinking of how he looked last year.

Hey, I told you I was before, didnt I? And as the dance began his claim seemed to hold true, as he moved and stepped gracefully and expertly, grinning..When you dated the daughter of a Galbadian general for awhile, stuff like this came naturally.. Old skills becoming useful once more.

No, I got over that a long time ago. You know I don't hold grudges long.
He followed her over to the snack bar, and just picked up some fingerfoods here and there, not bothering with a plate.

She began to ease out of this nervousness that had settled over her once she was dressed and on her way to the Ball. She smiled up at Seifer warmly, laughing and somewhat giggling anytime he spun her, clearly enjoying herself.
