Kiba did not even realize that it was him who made Tanu so mad when they left the mansion, but was glad as she cooled down. A rather blank look took his face, however, when his squad mate payed him a sort of back handed compliment. "Hmph! My strikes just hurt so much you can't feel it, kinda like when water is so hot that it's cold." he said in response. It was a terrible lie and he had to look in the exact opposite direction of Tanu with indignation. He hardly knew how else to respond. Pausing a second he continued "But, er, thanks, I am kinda fast I guess...." He felt sort of awkward and just returned to stretching. He heard something pop loudly and felt himself getting mcuh looser. He had little time to enjoy this feeling however, as he turned crimson when Tanu suddenly shouted out bashing some Ibazi newbie. "T-T-Tanu!" Kiba stuttered out. "Er, what exactly is the deal with you and the Ibazis? Did you start another clan feud?"

As the boy dunked his head under water, Aya squatted down on the water's surface. She would reach in a grab him if he sunk farther than her arm's reach, but he stayed pretty close to the surface and came back up quickly. "You didn't get any up your nose did you? That always stings!" Aya giggled lightly as he boy coughed and spit out some water. "You should breathe out your mouth when above water and out your nose under," she told him. The Tenmoki girl was a medical ninja, so she wasn't afraid of the boy drowning at all. As he floated on the water, Aya tilted her head as he asked where he was and then asked how she was able to walk on the surface of the water. She blunk a few times, finally figuring out that this boy wasn't from the village at all! He must've been a drifter! "Eeeeh~?" Aya asked in surprise as he introduced himself. "I'm Tenmoki Aya, Chunin of Shimagakure," the girl answered quickly as she held out a hand. "I'm concentrating chakra to the bottom of my feet to act as a floating device against the surface of the water. Did you want me to take you to shore? You must be tired. Our island is far away from the mainland," Aya offered as the current picked up slightly.

+3 to Aranami: Breathing strategy suggestion.

Aranami floated for a bit, and as he started swimming made a note of the breathing advice and listened to Aya. Aranami's eyes flashed when he heard Shimagakure. "So this island is Shimagakure, Tenmoki-San?" He looked at the island with excited eyes. He wondered if this was really the place where Gokai's killer trained. "After a year of traveling, I'm finally here." He thought as he swam, not in a rush, but not too slow either. As he swam towards the shore, he asked, "Chuunin? Chakra? What are those?" He thought for a second about accepting the help, but decided not too, since at the speed he was going he should be there soon. "No thanks about taking me to shore, I can get there by myself." He stated, while hoping his pride wouldn't come back to bite him.

Aya couldn't help but smile at Aranami's refusal to her offer. She could tell that this boy was a confident and self-dependent individual. "Chunin is a rank of skill in the world of shinobi. It begins at student and then goes on to Genin, Chunin, Jounin and Anbu," she explained the title first, since that was the easy part. "Chakra is... well..." she said, scratching the tip of her nose as she thought of the best words to explain it. Everyone she had trained or trained with already understood chakra. Aya understood what chakra was since she had been born into a shinobi clan. "I guess, its like the energy flowing around your body. When you combine your physical energy with your mental energy you're able to use your chakra in ways like this," she said, tapping her foot on the surface of the water. "Why were you floating around on a raft out in the middle of the sea?" Aya asked, knowing that the boy would be investigated the moment he stepped foot on the sand by either Moma-Yuki or their so-called Kage. "You're almost to the shore!" Aya cheered hoping to give the boy a bit of enthusiasm.

+3 to Aranami: Enthusiastic cheer!

Aranami listened to Aya's words as he swam towards the shore. "Hmmm... maybe that chakra could of been what Gokai used when he killed my parents... that old man might not have taught me everything he knew after all... I should ask, she might know, and she's been pretty nice." The waves bounced him abit as he swam to shore, smiling at her cheer. When he finally got to the shore, he laid down on the sand, threw his hands up in the air for a second, then got to thinking on how to word his answer and question in a way that wouldn't get him in trouble. "Maybe stating directly that the person who trained me for four years got killed from someone from Shimagakure and I was looking for where the killer trained wouldn't be the smartest idea." After a few minutes of laying there, he said, "Well, for why I was floating around in the middle of the sea, well, it summarizes up to the fact that I asked someone strong where he trained, so that I could get stronger, and he told me Shimagakure, so I've been looking for Shimagakure for about a year now." He paused for a second, and then asked, "About this chakra thing, would it be able to set a sword on fire, or something to that effect?" He asked cautiously, hoping that it wasn't something only Gokai could do, or only something Gokai did, seeing how it was someone from Shimagakure who killed him, Aranami didn't wanna link himself and Gokai in the minds of people here, who may begin to mistrust him if them killing Gokai was for revenge.

Aya tried to think of who Aranami could be speaking of. Aya had lived on the island ever since she was a little girl. Her clan had been here since its establishment and being a favorite of the former Kage, Aya had met many people who came and went from the village. Maybe the boy was speaking of Tuhai? When he mentioned a flaming sword, Aya shook her head and knew her guess must be wrong. "Hrm~ I'm not too sure! I use the water element after all. That would be something to look up in our library," Aya suggested, but realized that the boy wouldn't be allowed to just wander into the village alone. "So, you want to be in the Academy, eh?" Aya asked with a big grin on her face as she dropped her chakra concentration on her feet as they stepped on wet sand. "Moma-Yuki, the principal of the Academy, will be down here shortly. I'll recommend you to her," Aya said with a wink, seeing that the boy had a pretty good endurance, swimming through the waters from a raft he had been on for who knows how long. Of course, her mother was becoming awfully suspicious of outsiders lately.

Aranmi: +1 Swim, +12 Experience
You are either rewarded by the person that gives you the exercise or you may post rewards in the "Requesting Rewards Thread." You may never reward yourself points or experience.

Go to the experience report thread and report your rewards there. Read the first post of the thread to understand the rules.

When you add points to your profile, you will keep your trained points separate from your base points and clan points (you don't have clan points, so we won't go over that.)
When you add swim to your profile it will look like:
Swim: 0 + 1
Because you gained a point in swim this level. If you train swim again, it will look like:
Swim: 0 + 2
Once you level up, a crew member will check all your trained points and other items for cheating. The crew member will then merge your points together, so you swim will look like:
Swim: 2
Then when you train it again as level two it will look like:
Swim: 2 + 1
Savvy?

Aranami stood up slowly, his whole body aching. He took off his shirt, and started wringing it out, trying to get it a little bit less soaked before this principal got here, since she would ultimately be the one to decide if he was to let in or not. "Yeah, I guess this Academy would be the best place to start for me." He said while nodding at Aya. Stretching a little, he mumbled "Oh, and don't worry about the think with the flaming sword, I just was wondering cause..." Aranami paused for a second, realizing it didn't matter why he was wondering, in fact it didn't really matter if it could or not, Gokai was dead, so what he used to give him that burned scar doesn't matter. Unconsciously he touched that scar semi covered by the wave tattoo. Putting his shirt back on after wringing it so it was only a bit damp, he yawned. "Thank you in advance for the recommendation, I hope I can train here." He said as he bowed before Aya. He looked around for a second, noticing the other people there finally. "I wonder how she knows the principal is gonna be here soon, since I really doubt one of those people over there are the principal. Oh well, just need to act respectful, and hopefully I can get into the Academy."

{{OOC edit: I believe I got all that, and I edited my profile and made an experience report, I hope I did those correctly.}}

[Yup! It looks good! Great job!]

Yuki was rubbing her temples as she made it down to the shoreline. Genin thinking they can leave the island without permission. She really needed to implement a system where a pass was needed to take a boat onto the sea or to even leave the island. Natamo had run off the island without notifying her as well. With a heavy sigh, the stout woman with the long silvery green hair finally made her way down to the shoreline. The new Ibazi had arrived, Kiba and Tanu were there... No sign of Kane yet. A brownie point for the Yamanaka was removed from her mental list as she spotted her eldest daughter speaking with a boy she had never seen before. Yuki passed over this for now and instead moved over to her sister, youngest daughter and nephew. "Ayumi-suke! Are you ready for a fun boat ride with Aunti-Mido?" Yuki asked as she picked up her daughter and tickled her tummy while giving her eskimo kisses with her nose. The child laughed and hugged back.

"Everyone start getting aboard! We're going to be shoving off soon!" the captain of the small fisherman's boated shouted as he began untying a few of the ropes that held the boat to the dock.

"Take care, Midori-nee. Don't slack in school, Koyuki," Yuki said with a raised eyebrow as she handed Ayumi to her sister, so that they could get on the boat. Once she was done with her good-byes, Yuki stepped down from the dock to be out of the way of the fishermen. "Aya, I don't see Kazuma here. Unless he's actually learned how to perform henge so well I can't detect it," Moma-Yuki said as she put her hands on her large hips, while cutting her emerald green eyes over at the boy her daughter was standing next to. Yuki could be sweet and loving, but she was also intimidating with that authoritative voice of hers.

Aranami watched as another person he didn't know came and said something to Aya. While she talked, Aranami stretched a bit, getting some of the kinks out of his body. At first he thought that she was just going to ignore him, when he noticed her looking at him. "She's scary." was Aranami's first thought while Yuki looked at him. "But she might also be the principal that Aya was talking about, so I should introduce myself and be respectful. And what's this henge she speaks of? I really don't understand much on this island." Aranami stared back at Yuki for a second, and then lowered his eyes. "A-are..." he started off with a timid voice, then shook his head for a second. "Are you the principal of the Academy?" He asked while keeping his eyes lowered.

"Here she comes," Aya said with a smile as her mother glanced her way then proceeded to say good-bye to their family. Akiko wasn't anywhere to be seen yet and the captain was calling for everyone to board. As her mother approached them, the girl was instantly bickered at. "Gomen! Gomen! He's with Hana-chan and Kane, Moma," Aya said nervously as she put up her hands. Luckily, Aranami spoke, so she wouldn't have to explain why she had been building sand castles instead of searching for Kazuma. "Moma-Yuki, this is Mouchou Aranami. He's been searching for Shimagakure for quiet some time in order to train under us. He swam all the way to shore from a broken raft, so he has a lot of endurance," Aya commented as she turned to Aranami to introduce the woman to him. "This is Tenmoki Yuki, principal of the Academy, Anbu and Eseijutsu master of the island," Aya said, thinking that she had hit all the major points of address that clung to Yuki's name. Aya made sure to leave out the part of 'ex-wife' to the new emperor of the Fire Country. "I'll be getting on the boat then! Tanu! Kiba! Get on board!" Aya called out to the two genin that she would be accompany on the mission to the Kun Kumo village. "Say, Kiba! You're not using that bokken on the mission are ya?" Aya asked skeptically as she saw the Raiken carrying the wooden sword as she got on the boat. "Good luck, Aranami! Maybe I'll see you again sometime soon," Aya said, knowing that she wouldn't be returning to the island after the mission, but perhaps she'd make the trip again in the near future.

Yuki breathed in and out slowly yet deeply as her daughter spoke and then scampered off onto the boat. Just the other night Yuki had been confident that Aya was becoming more mature and balanced in decision making. Yuki saw that she still had a weak spot in her friendly attitude to new people. The light haired girl always lost her level headed thinking when she met someone knew. "Yes, I am prinicipal," Yuki confirmed after her daughter had given the introduction. "Training at Shimagakure is not for the weak of heart. We've had a student die while training under the Kage. It is not only a committment to the shinobi way, but also a commitment to this village. Shimagakure was built under the ideals of a man named Uchiha Ichi. He wishes for a shinobi to have his own strength and to bow to no lord. You have the right to refuse and accept any kind of work, but you must work once you have graduated from this academy to pay your dues to the village. Do you think you can swallow what this means?" Yuki asked the boy as she raised one of her fine eyebrows at him, awaiting an answer. There weren't many individuals that joined the ranks of Shimagakure. They usually only took in students that held a certain clan name and possessed a history of shinobi traits. To take in a drifter with a name with no honors to it was a difficult thing for Yuki to do. Since she was given all information on students from their clan leaders, this boy would be thoroughly investigated in order for Yuki to write his profile in her student inventory.

Aranami waved goodbye when Aya left, thankful that she had introduced him as nicely as she did. He listened closely to Yuki's words as she talked to him. After she was done talking, he closed his eyes and put his thumbs on his temples, with his fingers on his forehead. He massaged his temples while he thought. "This training, sounds tough. Probably tougher than what my family had me do" He grinned a bit to himself, remembering how hard the training his family put him through seemed at the time. "Probably even tougher than Gokai's training..." He shivered a bit, partly from being in cold wet clothes, and partly from remembering some of the hellish training Gokai had him do. "But... Gokai probably did training harder than the training he made me do, and I can't be weaker than him, even if I'm weaker than him now, I have to get stronger." Opening his eyes, that were now firm with resolve, he looked straight at Yuki. He nodded slowly at Yuki and then only said, "What do we need to do to get me started?"

Tanu grunted and folded her arms over her chest as Aya called out to tell her to be nice. "It just bugs me how weak they are. That Ibazi yesterday challenged me to a fight and he's been on this island almost as long as Kana and Aya," Tanu said, explaining the little feud that was brewing towards the Ibazis. As the boat's captain called for everyone to get on, Tanu still noticed that Kane, Hanabira and Kazuma were nowhere to be seen. She hoped that they missed the boat, so she wouldn't have to deal with Kazuma at all today. As Aya called for them to get on, Tanu waved her hand in the air carelessly. "Yea, yea. I'm coming," the girl said as she headed towards the dock to get on the boat.

Continuing to stretch himself out Kiba listened to Tanu. He certainly could not dispute the claim the Ibazi's were weak. After all, the guy Tanu had been fighting the other day was kind of getting his rear end handed to him by the fiery Kun Kumo. Pretty unimpressive considering how much more experienced he was supposed to be than Kiba and Tanu. Furthermore, there would be nothing to make the Ibazi's stronger than having to strive against Tanu!... unless of course they died in the struggle. That risk is always there for weaklings trying to keep of with the dark eyed Raiken's squad mate. The young Raiken saw Tanu go ahead and board the ship, but decided to stay behind for a minute to go ahead and finish stretching himself out. Just a little bit more and Kiba would be ready to go at full strength.

The small boat brushed the sandy shores of the island of Shimagakure. At least, she firmly believed it to be Shimagakure. It would not be an established fact until someone on the island confirmed it though. The sailors in the boat were part of a larger caravan that her father had entrusted to take his daughter safely to the island, but that was the end of their obligations. Nadeshiko Rin'Egan stepped silently out of the gently tilting boat and onto the shore. She almost wished that she had gone barefooted today; the sand looked comfortable, and she wouldn't mind at all if they got between her toes. She nodded her thank-you to the sailors, who were already moving the boat back out to sea, and swung her head the back in the other direction. The eleven-year-old was well under five feet, and dressed in a bright red silk kimono with maple leaf patterns, with a knot and obi that would have made an oiran envious. Despite her delicate appearance, Nadeshiko somehow cut a proud and imperious figure. She looked down at a beautifully made nadeshiko hairpin that her mother had given her a few years ago, and then gingerly took a step forward, tripping on the hem of her kimono, and falling down in the sand.

And the shame and embarassment she felt then completely crowded out her joy of having reached Shimagakure. How demeaning to fall down with the first step she had taken on the island.
