Lin heard a familiar voice from behind her. She hadn't even heard Rorsh coming since she was so deep into her own thoughts. When he apologised for doing nothing at all, she shook her head. "It's fine, I just needed to be alone for a while. You aren't being a bother." She looked up at him and smiled, before wiping her face dry, and washing it off. "That food looks nice. You seem to be good at finding it." She slowly stood up, and stretched. She felt so empty, and though she wasn't alone, she felt slightly alone.

Ashe watched as Lin walked off and sighed. "How many more deaths before this ends?" she asked herself. After Flints comment she snorted. "I'm not that heartless." She then nuzzled Sorrow, just to get her to wake up.

She felt a gentle nudge and started to regain consciousness. Her soft eyes opened slowly, they were no longer lifeless yet they were full of pain and anguish. She lifted her arms up and started to stand up. Sorrow stood and felt a bit dizzy. She stumbled a bit and then finally gained posture to stand. She looked over at Ashe and didn’t realize what was going on. She started to smile but only tears came out, she didn’t know why she was crying but she couldn’t control it.
“Ashe, Flint, where are the others?”
She turned and looked away holding her arms in a worried matter. Some of the memories had returned but she didn’t know what happened. She had seen visions of murder and blood but she didn’t know who or what happened. She looked down, her eyes grazing the sword.
“Where am I? What happened with Contri? What happened to my dress?”
She looked back to the others, whipping the tears away from her eyes. Then started to panic, grabbing her back and trying to feel for her lute, but it was not there.
“Where is my lute?”
Sorrow sat down on the dirt road and looked down at her hands, her eyes starting to tear up again. She had lost control of her emotions, and without her lute, nothing could calm her down.

Shiango sighed. "Contri, come here now!" He was angry, and bored which was not a good mix with him. He looked around silently waiting for Contri to appear from somewhere. He had noticed the slip of Sorrow from their control.

Flint shook his head. "Good to have you back. I don't know where the others went, but I think Ashe has your lute. I do have this, if you want it back." he said, reaching behind him. He grabbed the katana by the tip of it's sheath, holding it up to Sorrow. "Where were you?" he asked after a minute. "You had us all worried."

“What do you mean good to have me back? I was here, with you guys…”
He mind drifted off for a second not sure what was going on. She looked up form gazing at her palms and realized something was different. Her clothes, the area she was in, even people who were once there were not. The cart was gone too, and it seemed they were on a rockier path than before. When she heard about her lute she perked up a bit and started to stop crying, whipping the tears from her eyes again.
“A sword? But but I don’t use weapons. My music is all I need.”
She pushed the sword away and slowly stood up again. She noticed something else odd. She was wearing the same clothes as when they first started out but it was different from her normal gray jumpsuit. It had a darker feel to it, and it seemed to be starting to glow red.
“What is this I’m wearing? These aren’t my clothes. Are you guys trying to pull a prank on me?”
---
Contri began to pace back and forth in his room. Time seemed to linger and becoming longer than usual, seconds felt like hours, hours felt like days, days felt like months. For being a master of time spells, waiting around for something to happen, just wasn’t his forte. Just then he heard an angry calling out of his name, and knew something bad would happen.
“Great, something to do, I bet I’ll get chewed out for letting Sorrow free, well she’s not totally free.”
Shift held the ball of black smoke in his hand and moved himself in Shiango’s presence. He casually walked over towards his throne and bent down to one knee, placing his hands across himself and looked up as if nothing was wrong at all.
“I bet you’re wondering what I did with the girl. And I’m sure you’re not pleased but before you make any rash decisions let me tell you of my plans.” He paused and then spoke after clearing this throat. “You see she is still under my thumb so to speak, all I have to do is give the order and she’ll become my pawn of destruction once again. I like toying with people, not that I would with you, but you see this is the only way to get into the enemies heads, plus I can use her as a spy that will go unnoticed for the most part. Don’t worry I have everything under control.”
Shift stood and started to walk away leaning towards the door. He stopped and turned around looking at his master, despising his wickedness yet at the same time feeling ecstatic about his own wickedness.
“Let me know when something important arises.”

Ashe looked at Sorrow with sad eyes. "You where gone for about a week. Contri took you. As to why your back here with us is a mystery to us. For the others: They've gone their own way, don't know if we'll see them again." She extended her head towards the bags and shuffled through them, pulling her's out gently with her teeth. She set it down by Sorrow's feet and said, "Your lute's in there. I had hoped to make a leather case for it, but it's still not complete."
((Do we need another 'bad guy'? Only having two seems a little short, especially since we have about 5 'good guys'))

(I think we do have another one... that blind archer. What happened to everyone else? We had a good thing going and now it's just us.)

Shiango stood up. "I never said you could leave Contri." His voice was a lot colder, and sharper then before. "I have to admit that your plan is a good one, but trying to leave when I have not let you go, is not allowed." He walked over to Contri and stood in front of him. "I have an even better plan. One of those who go against us is fighting against inner darkness. It is that elf, Lin I think is what they call her. It seems she found out Sorrow killed all her people, and if she hadn't left the girl, she probably would have killed her. Now, I want you to try and get her on our side, if that is possible."
(I wish I knew where the others went too. We did have a good thing running, and now it is just us four or five. I don't think we need another bad guy just yet, but I am thinking of adding more twists, and betrayal's.)
Lin walked back to the group. She was indifferent about anything now, and she held that anger, and darkness that she felt for Sorrow deep inside her heart. She locked it away as best she could thinking she would be fine. When it came to the crunch and she got back and saw Sorrow however, she couldn't help but feel her hatred sqirm inside her. "I see you are going fine now...Sorrow."

“My lute!”
Sorrow quickly picked up the leather bound lute and opened it up. She set the make shift cover down and held the lute tightly. She spun it around and it looked almost new. She hugged it and then held it up grazing her fingers across a few notes making a vibrant sound. She saw a dim refection in it, her wings. She gasped when she saw them and let go of the lute with her right hand and moved it to her back feeling around for her wings. She touched them but it was strange the way her face moved when she did.
“I haven’t had these since I was in the kingdom of the sky…”
She held the lute tightly and held it up playing a sweet melody. The strings were still in perfect condition and the notes sounded sweet. She looked up from her song and saw Lin. She didn’t seem to be as cheerful as the others to see her and she didn’t know why.
“Something wrong? Wow I have really been gone for a week? I knew that Contri guy was a time mage, but… I was afraid to say anything. Did Contri do something to you too Lin?”
She made a puzzled look and then continued to play again.
---
“I’m sick of your formalities, but I will do as you wish. I’m gonna need some more of those bug eyed black creatures, a small army and… an illusion orb. I think it will come in handy. I need some time to plot. I’ll be in my usual spot you and your cronnies don’t know about. I’ll be back in three days time.”
Shift looked at Shiango with disrespect and then held his hand out holding the black orb and disappeared out of sight. He reappeared at the old abandoned monastery, his favorite hiding spot, and looked around walking slowly mumbling incantations to himself. When it was finished one of the fixtures opened up reveling a hidden path that led through a long and dark hallway. Through many hallways and series of hidden doors led Contri towards a rather large room.
As he passed through a man rose from a chair in the darkness. He looked exactly like Contri in every way down to every fine detail, except this man had the earring that Shift had lost back in the contest. The man looked at him and then his appearance began to change to that of what seemed to be a lizard man. He looked at Shift with a sigh of relief.
“You’ve been gone for a week. You know how hard it is for me to maintain my form before I revert back to this monstrosity.”
“Ah Sille, it’s has been too long. Your payment is where it usually is. Thank you for helping me once in this matter.”
“If you hadn’t saved my life all those years ago I probably would have been long gone by now.”
“True, but I need you just a bit longer. I have three days. You may do as you please in that time. Then you must hold your ground here for a bit.”
“Any news I should know?"
"I’ll fill you in later. Right now I have to address my people. Change into a servant and make you way out the back to the ground hall. You will hear my tales there. Of course I’ll be using the term informant. But you shouldn’t be surprised by any of my actions by now.”
“And my people? How are they?”
“They are well.”
Shift turned to a dresser and changed into his more formal robes and exited into a grand chamber, even grander than the one he was once in. He exited that too and headed to the main hall. He turned his attention to his people, the forgotten elves, forgotten by time.
“Attention loyal folk of Trisfall Manor. My illness has not subsided, but I heard a wicked tale of an act against our fellow elves. My informants tell me that Windshire Manor has been turned to ashes, and those villagers who dwelled there, were all slaughtered.” He paused as his people were shocked and appalled. “Yes I know these are troubling times but bare with me, we do know the culprits. A wicked man named Shiango, and his cronies. He is a powerful evil that must be stopped. But it our duty to sit in the sidelines, which is why I must inform you that no action must be taken from our part. However our brothers and sisters in the areas above will here of this. Of course none of them know we exist which is why our informants must be used. Trust in them, and above all, trust in me.”

Rorsch smiled. She was being so nice to him! "I'm a druid. I naturally know what the forest wants me to take, and the forest provides it to me." He looked like an excited kid. He watched her go silently before shrugging and following a little ways behind. He still knew next to nothing about the group, so he stayed towards the back and observed.

Ashe looked up as Lin walked back, her face barely hiding the anger and hatred she held. She lifted her head higher and saw the newcomer from earlier. Sighing, she shook her head. "I'm glad that Sorrow is back with us. But I think we should start moving. If the dark elves have started to move then so has some of the dark clans of my kin." She resettled her wings, wincing as the forgotten pain came back. "We are behind schedule anyways."

After Shift had left, Shiango growled. It seemed one of his most powerful followers could no longer be trusted as much as he once believed. His rage at Shift pulsed through the shadow realm, and many of his people became a little frightened before starting to do their work even faster. They didn't want their master to attack them next. Shiango let out a sigh, he then clicked his fingers, and a slim, tall figure, with deep green eyes, and hair as black as night appeared before him. The figures skin was dark like the dark elves, and some black wings came from his back.
"Rathnich, I have a job for you. Since Shift is becoming more stubborn, and not treating me with decent respect, I am going to let you do a very important mission. We need to collect all the dark orbs, we used them in the past, and they worked well. My ancestors were afraid to use them, and never did because they feared their power. I will allow you to collect them, and then take them to me, and I will store them in my sanctum, a place no one but me can enter." "As you command master." "Thankyou Rathnich." With that Shiango went to his throne and sat down.
(Okay then)
Lin shook her head at what Sorrow said, and quickly made her way to the horses. She climbed atop Mist and looked at her comrades. "I agree with Ashe, we must get moving, and we will have to go without resting. You'll never know if it is too late to see the king or not. I am sure Shiango is making advances, or planning to."

((I have a friend named Ike coming to visit sometime early next week, like Tuesday. I don't know when I'll be able to come back on after that. ... I was being sarcastic about Ike being a friend. Ike is a category 3 hurricane. Which means he's big and powerful, though not as powerful as Katrine was, but just as deadly and devastating, and he's on a war path with my home.
So again: I have no clue as to when I'll be able to get on the web after he hits.))
