Good morning everyone (even though I can imagine it is not morning wherever you are - you, the reader)!

I am The Doomed Account, also known as Seph for some. Feel free to call me what you wish.
I have just recently started learning Japanese by taking a class in my local university and after 2 weeks I feel like I know most (though not all) hiragana and one or two kanji.
I am using Gakken's Japanese for Everyone textbook.

I'm hoping my stay in this guild will help my studies and that I will gain new friends. :_D

Konbonwa! Watashi wa Beauty desu. ^.^

Um...I'm new to the guild...obviously. I'm nineteen, almost twenty, and I reside in the middle of Missouri. (Quite literally.) I go to college at the University of MO, Columbia and I'm an International Studies major, emphasizing in East Asia.

I've always been fascinated with Japanese culture, and over the past several years I've grown a deeper interest in it as I go along. My favorite things about it would have to be fashion, music, architecture, and geography. (Yeah, I'm a map nut. Some people say I should have majored in Geography.)

I'm currently in my second year of Japanese, with one of the greatest teachers I think I've ever had. (He even has his own Wikipedia page, o.o!) I'm not particularly amazing at Japanese, which is one of the reasons why I joined the guild. I would like to get better at it with more people, and make new friends along the way!

Wow, lot of people =O

Hi, I'm pixie, 19 years old and live in the Netherlands.
I'm a scorpio and love to draw, preferibly manga, I'm even trying to make one myself xP.
But that's not the reason I want to learn japanese, I'll just continue in english (I doubt I can compete with japanese mangaka).

I always thought the language sounds beautiful, I love the fashion, music (miyavi heart ), sushi *-* and the country looks beautiful. Still want to go there someday.
Somehow learning the language never seemed logical to me, it's far away, maybe I go there twice in my life and stuff like that, but lately I've been wanting it more and more. And then one day, when I was reading the translation of a song, I knew for sure, I want to learn this language!
I mean, we had to learn german, spanish and french to, and I don't do anything with that.
And it iz good for me brain :3

That's about it, I love random pm's and I've got the awsomest boyfriend evah! heart heart heart

if it weren't for Meeves, I would've never became re-interested in Japan! :3

I'm l e t c h f o r d. Yo. Oi. Ohayo, and so forth. I'm planning on moving to Japan permanently when I graduate, with a few exchange trips between now and that time. I love everything about Japan, from its people to its food. I have to have sushi at least once a week to be happy :3 Anyway, I live in Ohio right now, and I'm currently 15&1/2. I'd love to talk to some people who have had experiences in exchange programs!

Um..first of all..
Thank you so much for whoever that accepted me into this guild because I really want to learn more about the culture and to do that you have to speak Japanese so yeah.
I'm Katie from the U.S., 13 now. I'm an Aquarius (there's not much Aquarius I've seen so far sad ) and a manga newcomer. After reading some manga series, I always want to know more about Japan (cause some authors include some Japanese folklore) and so on.

The Japanese language is always a challenge for me, because of the pronunciation and of course, the characters. I haven't bought any Japanese learning CDs because learning from a real Japanese speaker is much better than hearing a computer voice teaching you the alphabet wrong. razz I hope I can learn a few in this guild.

Hello, my name is Kristina and I'm 18 yrs old. I know a few words in Japanese, but not enough to make a complete sentence, although as soon as I decide which college I want to transfer to I plan on taking up lessons on the Japanese language and culture. What little bit I do know I've picked up from the anime I watch and some of the manga I read, not to mention friends and my Japanese/English dictionary. I sometimes struggle with the pronunciation on some of the words, but the bright side is that it comes out better then my Spanish xd

I'm sorrowscall and I ended up liking Japan after becoming hooked to anime. I remember asking where such a good thing would come from, and rnded up researching Japan. I found out that I did alot of things the Japanese people I read about did. I learned that slightly bowing your head in respect was a Japanese thing and that the food at the places where there were things like Sushi was actually traditional Japanese food. I love anime, and want to learn the language to understand it, but I'm also a Japanese culture fan.

SillyKeronian

Hello, everyone 4laugh
I am SillyKeronian. I am 16 years old and currently on my Junior year of High School. I started to like Anime since I was 6 years old, which was Pokemon. I started to be interested with the actual Japanese culture when I was in Middle School for 7th grade. I started to watch Anime more and wanted to ask questions about the culture. I never did. But now, I am on the climax of my Anime+Japanese culture fascination.... fandom if you will. I really enjoy learning new things about the culture, since I am practically just starting to want to find out/ learning about it. I also know very little of Japanese. I wanted to take Japanese for a language, but my parents thought it would be more practical to learn Spanish since we live in the United States. I never liked the Latino culture, though. But, more and more Latinos come to the U.S..so they do have a point. And so, I want to learn Japanese so I can have a sense of accomplishment for a completed goal, may know what my favorite Anime characters are saying without English subtitles, and become tri-lingual. I think that would be very cool indeed. I also want to go to Japan after high school and collage, since it is so beautiful there. Also, the culture is very fascinating and wonderful all around. And also, my favorite: shows, movies, scenery, bands, and food is there. How much more could I want? I think nothing more. Thank you.

(Also, I am not sure if any noticed/would notice. My name comes from the Anime "Keroro Gunso. It is one of my favs ^^)

Oh yay. Hi everyone! My name is Nikki; I'm 15 years old. I'm a second year student of learning Japanese in high school. I want to learn more though, as that class is kind of slow and childish for me. Anyways, I hope to learn more Japanese and get some help along the way with it.

Heyy!
My name's Nathalie and I'm fourteen. The day I hit fifteen is December 5th which makes me a Sagittarius. I live in New York, USA and I love all the hustle and bustle here in the city due to the fact I grew up here. I'm currently taking Japanese in my school and I'm in my second year. I know Hiragana, some Kanji, and learning Katakana. I study Japanese in the same classroom as birdspee, which makes us friends in real life. Our Japanese teacher is actually German and teaches us extremely slowly. -_-;
That's pretty much it. =D
