Brayden watched as the Rockets attacked. Well at least they knew they had the right direction. He readied himself, prepared to motion Gin'iro forward.
However... nothing came... wait, that wasn't right.
Brayden glanced about, thinking that perhaps the grunt to face him was off somewheres. He certainly doubted that his enemy was too afraid of his awesomeness to face him, so what on earth was going on?
The faint scent of singed rubber caught his attention, and he was about to turn around... but found himself face to face with a handkerchief. He tried to struggle, inhaling to call the alarm...
But suddenly found himself feeling incredibly sleepy. Okay, what gives? He had been unconscious for almost an entire day a couple of days back, so he certainly wasn't lack for sleep, and this was hardly the time to be sleeping on the job. Brayden shook his head groggily, suddenly seeing stars as he weakly fought against whatever it was that had got him. He vaguely felt the sensation of falling backwards, but couldn't do anything to right it, as suddenly his vision faded to black.

As the Grunt approached him, Kaya motioned Mian forward. "Let's go Mian. Take the stage." he said in the most invigorated voice he could manage in the sweltering heat of the cavern.
The grunt approached and released a Granbull, being unfamiliar with Gallade, he didn't realize it was part Fighting type.
"Alright Mian, Granbull are Normal Types so use Focus Blast on it!" Kaya declared after a quickly analysis of the Grunt's Pokemon. "As you wish Kaya." Mian replied, verbally for once, as he formed a ball of Ki and fired it at Granbull, launching it backwards.
(Super Effective! -200 from Granbull. 130/330 Hp remains)
"ALright Granbull, I think we should show him your secret weapon..." the grunt snickered to the Fairy Pokemon. He was utterly mortified at having to use such a sissy breed of pokemon, despite it's strength. "Use Shadow Ball to blow that thing away!" he cried to his Pokemon, who growled low and blasted a ball of shadows from his jaws at Mian.
(Super Effective! -130 from Mian. 210/340 Hp remains)
"Alright Mian, finish it off with one more Focus Blast!" Kaya cried over the sounds of the bubbling lava below them. "So be it!" Mian cried as he fired a blast of Ki through the air at Granbull. The blast circled the still airborne Shadow Ball and both attacks struck home at the same instant.

Smiling faintly, Israfel dashed away from the group, carrying the unconscious Brayden along with him. He summoned his Milotic, for a bit of an easier time traveling (heck if he was gonna lug the dead weight through the entire mountain caverns...). After a bit of creativity with rope to keep Brayden from falling in the lava, Raef hopped on said sea serpent (who wasn't enjoying the heat too much at the moment, and was sure to complain about it later) and was gone.

Kaya was too caught up in the battle with his grunt to notice the assault on his partner. As the grunt returned his fallen Granbull with a muttered curse, Kaya grinned. He already had the guy unnerved. That would make the battle go so much easier. The next Pokemon he would face turned out to be an angry looking Crawdaunt.
"Crawdaunt, use Sludge Bomb!" the grunt cried, eager to try and finish this battle as quickly as possible and return with his job done. He knew what his boss had planned for him if he failed. He shuddered at the thought of it.

"Alright Mian, Crawdaunt is part Dark type so we still have the advantage." Kaya encouraged Mian. "Indeed we have. Another Focus Blast on this one as well?" Mian replied. "You know me so well..." Kaya said sweetly. Mian chuckled lightheartedly as he fired of another ball of Ki.

"Come on Crawdaunt, use you're Sludge Bomb again!" the grunt cried, fearing his loss was coming quickly. Crawdaunt opened one of it's massive claws and fired a volley of poison blobs at Mian.

"Alright Mian, use another Focus Blas to finish it!" Kaya cried eagerly. Mian nodded and began to focus. His fatigue was showing as it took him loner than normal to charge the blast, though his aim was as true as ever.

Before the Grunt could declare an attack with the Banette he called out in Crawdaunt's place, Kaya withdrew Mian to his pokeball and sent out Weiser in his place. "Let's use Dark Pulse first Weiser!" the princeling called to the ghost, who cackled evilly and gathered the flickering shadows around her into an orb in her hand which pulsated into a beam towards the Banette.

"Alright Fine!" the Grunt cried in defiance as Kaya's pokemon bested his in strength yet again. "Banette, use Destiny Bond!" he cried, determined to take out at least one of the Prince's Pokemon. He had learned from Valahn who the man was and had been promised a handsome reward for winning.
(No damage was done to Weiser. If Banette is defeated in battle, the winning Pokemon faints.)
"I hate to ask this of you Weiser, but I want you to use Dark Pulse once more." Kaya said, not as exuberant as he had been a moment before. Weiser gave him a look that said she understood it was for the win and blasted the Banette again, suddenly feeling faint as she passed out and floated to the cavern floor.

Kaya returned the fainted Ghost to her pokeball and silently thanked her for the sacrifice. He'd do s verbally later. Now wasn't the time. He waited just long enough to see the form of the Grunt's Raticate emerge from it's Pokeball before he sent Mian back in. "If you can make just a few more rounds, This'll be all over. think you can do it?" he asked the Gallade, who nodded his head. "I will do all that I am able for you Kaya." Mian replied.
"Ok good. Can you use another Focus Blast on this one?" Kaya requested. Mian nodded and formed the ball of Ki quicker than his last one after a few minutes of rest, and fired it at the Rat.

"Alright. Fine then." the Grunt said without a second thought. "Use Shadow Ball Raticate!" he cried excitedly. As the rodent formed a ball of shadows between it's whisker's and fired it. He saw Mian collapse and jumped for joy. Two Pokemon down so far.

"No!" kaya cried defiantly as he returned Mian to his Pokeball. He had been hoping for a helpless rodent, not one that was capable of taking on his best friend. He had to think about it for a few moments, but after a bit of thinking, decided on his next player. "Let's go Kiss! Take the stage!" he cried as he released the Togekiss into the air.

He'd just have to wait and see what happened. By now his footfalls had become faint echoes, ignored by his comrades.

Train glanced over at Kaya, who's battle was finished, then at Nona, who was still battling, then looked around for Brayden. Train looked slightly alarmed and called out, "Hey!! Where's Brayden!?"

Brayden awoke some time later, vision blurry as he blinked, trying to clear his view. Groggy and disoriented, it took him a moment (okay, a couple of moments) to assess the situation. What he found.... didn't help him out too much. Having never been in Stark Mountain, he had no clue where he had ended up, much less what the heck was going on here. The cavern he found himself in was abandoned, with only a few crates and tables scattered haphazardly around the room.
Being alone was probably a good thing at the moment. Whoever had dragged him here, Brayden wasn't too sure he wanted another whiff of whatever it was that was put on that cloth. It left one heck of a hangover...
Another thing he noticed was that he was bound, uncomfortably so, his arms behind him, roped together in a devious knot that only tightened dangerously around his wrists when he tried to yank free from the table leg he had been leashed to.Grimacing, Brayden flexed his fingers to try to get the blood flowing back into them. He wasn't going to try that one again....
Putting his focus back on the room about him, Brayden tried to find anything of use, which wasn't going too well in his disoriented state. He did note his Pokeballs, several yards away atop a table, however they didn't do too much good there. However, he did note that Gin'iro's Pokeball still seemed to be in the released state, so that could mean that the Ninetails was still out and about. Perhaps that might help, if the fox was in a good mood at the moment.
Brayden didn't have time to ponder too much, however, as his own vulpine ears perked up instinctively, catching the sound of footsteps approaching.

Gin'iro was in anything but a good mood at the moment, clearly miffed that he hadn't even noticed his trainer swiped right out from under his nose. With the excitement of the three battles going on at once, the Ninetails hadn't considered an attack from behind, so when he turned to simply discover Brayden gone, the silver fox was none to happy at the discovery.
He was currently trailing Kaya, searching the caverns along with the prince, not trusting his own voice into the call for Brayden, lest he let loose a Fire Blast in his impatience. Although the Ninetails was quite comfortable in the fiery caverns, he had noticed the humans he had been with didn't seem to enjoy the intense heat as much as he.
Now if only he could catch Brayden's scent, which was proving quite difficult in the winding corridors. There were scents from dozens of different people, ranging from what he assumed to be grunts and admins, to curious trainers who had visited the tunnels in the past. It was all a jumbled mess to his nose, and was taking some time to sort out. In the meantime, he had to rely on his eyes.

The paper in Train's hand was a note. It didn't look like much at first but a blast of hot air from the lower caves activated the ink it was written in:
~Attention Whitey! You've probably noticed your missing freak by now. Well good for you. We've got him and the only way your gettign him back is to give us the fragment of the sword. If you refuse to do so, you won't ever see your friend alive again.
