Kain pondered for a moment then looking up at the headmaster snapped his fingers causing the transmutation circle on his blade to glow and a flame erupt just above his thumb and middle finger, "The alchemy of fire, i believe that warmth is esential to life, therefore so is the flame. But of course it is mainly because fire has always fascinated me." At the end of his sentence he seperated his fingers and the bright orange flame flickered out.

Iris thought for a moment and paused, to make sure she would not interrupt anyone else's answer. She did not want to anger Anslia any more than she already had, and she did not want to get on Kain's bad side within minutes of their meeting.
"I would say I would want to learn... anything I could possibly learn. I want to know everything. I know that isn't possible, but over time I could slowly gain the knowledge. I know focusing on all four elements and learning them each in depth is very difficult, and I would focus on one. I would most likely pick earth to be the element to focus on as a personal preference. I would share with anyone who would be willing to listen, especially since there are quite a few people out there in the world who still take alchemy as a black art."
Iris fell silent. She felt as though she said too much. She needed to stop blabbering away. She really did. She just couldn't help herself when she talked about a topic she was passionate about.

He nodded after each answer and responded to each of them in turn:
"Anslia, considering this is an alchemy university we don't really teach swordfighting...normaly. I am however prone to using a sword in fights along with alchemy. If you know how to mix attacks, it can be extremely effective. I'm sure i can help teach you what you want to learn."
"Kain, you're correct. Fire and warmth are very essential in life, which is why it's one of the four elements of alchemy. When one chooses to focus on a single element, especially a base element, i usually tell them to broaden their horizons a bit. The four base elements: fire, water, earth, and air, all have their opposites. If you were to meet an enemy who specialized in water you could lose your life very quickly. My goal with you is to help you broaden out, but still focus on strengthening your understanding of the flame."
"Iris, i don't think there's any possible way to learn all the secrets that alchemy has to offer. I've been doing alchemy for only fourteen years and i've learned a lot from all four major branches. I hope to share that knowledge with you and try to meet your goals."

Kain nodded at the response and thought. He pulled the daggers from their respective sheaths and sat them in his pack. He thought about what the headmaster had said, a water alchemist, 'My blade could surely silence him' Kain thought, but he felt bad, that seemed a bit over confident, he need to keep his ego in check.

Anslia reclined further into her chair and kicked her feet around a little. "As long as I stay strong, I'm all for whatever. And who knows," she laughed bruskly, "maybe I'll get into this stuff like Rose... or Ivy over there." She offered the girl what she thought was a slightly friendly grin.
I'm fine as long as I can beat him. Her gaze shifted to Kain. Maybe this was where she was supposed to end up after all.

((OOC: Sorry to have to leave now, it's nighty night time for me. I only got three hours of sleep last night and it's 1:30 in the morning where i am. We can continue this tomorrow...If you want to continue (find your rooms, settle in, etc.) you're welcome to do so, but the actual teaching and whatnot can't start until after the sparring matches. Also, if you could let me know through pm if you're not going to be online a certain day or week...or even a month god forbid, so i can plan something, i'd really appreciate it. Thanks for joining for getting this thread started, i'll talk to you all tomorrow. Goodnight ^_^))

Kain stands up glancing over at the girl called Anslia, 'What is it about her, shes seen some fights, obviously.' he thought to himself walking to the dormitories and finding his room. As he unpacked his mind wandered.

Iris smiled at Anslia. Shtona had left, as well as Kain. She went to go gather her bags, which were placed by the door.
"Um, Anslia do you know where we're supposed to go?" she asked the other girl. She was happy that Anslia had been friendly.

"Absolutely no idea," she answered, walking to the door and nonchalantly picking up one of Iris's bags. "C'mon. I'll help."
She started through the hallways, assuming that Iris was following. She found a pinkish-tinged one and assumed this was for the girls. Droppping Iris's bag outside one door, she entered the one across the hall, very ready for a goodnight's sleep.

"Ah, thanks," said Iris. She picked up the bag and entered the room. She placed her bags neatly at the foot of her bed, and prepared for a good night's rest.
Today.. was a good beginning, she thought as she drifted off to sleep.

Kain awoke in the dead of night, 'Anslia and Iris are most likely asleep.' He sighed slightly and walked over to the window peering around the room. It was meagerly furnished, only the essentials. Grabbing up his pack he put his clothes into a dresser and kept one set out for after he took a shower. Setting the clothes down onto the lavatory and turning the nozzle he let the warm water run over his neck and back. The warmth relaxed his tense muscles, he had traveled far to reach this school.And as the heat overcame him, His mind wandered and he thought of his classmates. Anslia, She had a very coy charm, one she probably didn't even realize she has. And Iris, She seems very talkative, and easily confused. She seems to be overly apologetic. 'She tries to please everyone and it may cuase her problems in life'. Kain thought alound "they are both very nice." He turned the water off and the stream slowed to a drizzle. Kain dried himself off with the towel and put the fresh set of clothes on. Walking out of the bathroom he tossed his clothes carelessly away, As he reached the window, he drew a transmutation circle on it with his finger in the dust. Placing his hand on top of the circle he changed moved the glass out of this way and stepped through the hole he had made. Sitting on his windowsill he looked out at the sinking moon in the dark sky. He sat thinking about many topics and as the sun rose slowly he yawned sleepingly.

Shtona busied himself in the kitchen (which is through a door at the back of the common room), cooking breakfast for himself and his students. Scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, toast, and freshly squeezed orange juice. I have to get cereal he thought, squeezing another orange into the juicer because i am NOT doing this every morning. He dropped some more bread into the toaster and started setting bowls of scrambled eggs and plates of toast and bacon out on the table. When the last few pieces of toast popped up he set to cleaning the pans he'd used, scrubbing the grease and grime off of them before dropping them in the dishwasher.

The smell of fresh cooked bacon hinted at Kain's nose. He smiled sealing the window and leaped off of the windowsill landing in the garden. He walked through the grounds trying to find the source of the smell. Coming upon a kitched Kain spotted the headmaster, Shtona. "Good morning, sir. The food smells delicious" Kain said happily as he strolled into the room.
