MangaNoHime Barlow girl has a great song about this, called Average Girl (one of my faves!) it goes like this: So what I'm not your average girl I don't meet the standards of this world Chasing after boys is not my thing See I'm waiting for a wedding ring
No more dating I'm just waiting Like sleeping beauty My prince will come for me No more dating I'm just waiting 'Cause God is writing my love story
Boys are bad that's certainly not true 'Cause God's preparing one for you If you get tired waiting till he comes Gods arms are the perfect place to run
Sleep that's the only thing For me 'cause when I sleep Gods preparing one for meAmen! That is the way my boyfriend and I are. We finally decided to wait for God to write our love story and it's better than either one of us could have dreamed.

futureworldconquerer What do you want your future husband/wife to be like? Do you believe in love at first sight? How old do you wanna be before you get married? Answer these questions, or just say anything about marriage/love... Love at first sight... well, as christians, we should love everybody. 3nodding And some advice I got when I was single was basically to view all guys as potential boyfriends. I tried this, and I ended up with a reputation as a stuttering blushing fool, and no boyfriend. My ideal husband would have to be a christian, be able to put up with me wanting to foster kids until I'm actually ready to have a baby of my own, and he'd have to be the kind of guy that can take control when I flake out. As for how old I'd be... my granny got married at 17, my mum at 19, so maybe I should get married at 21? I don't know... Ideally it'd be after University, but you can't really choose these things so it'll probably be shortly after I get engaged! Whenever that is... Ly Ed

What do you want your future husband/wife to be like? Um... I really don't know. I suppose she'd have to be a Christian, she'd have to be the one God had chosen. I guess she'd have to be understanding, and we'd have to have things in common.
Do you believe in love at first sight? Hmm... love at first sight? Well, you can have attraction at first sight, but it's not really love. Though, as Beth said, as a Christian you should love everyone so you should love them before first sight! biggrin
How old do you wanna be before you get married? I have no idea how old God wants me to be when I get married. I'll leave that up to Him. Although the question was how old do I want to be, so: I don't have any preference. Not at, like, 18 'cause that would just be stupid... it would have to be after I'd known whoever I was going to marry for quite a while.

-Ruler of Rain- Everyone should veiw there love life like this, It really dose make you feel better when you know you dont have to worry about these things.^^ Agreed. Many teenage girls feel that without a boyfriend they are somehow incomplete, or rejected, or not worthy, or whatever. They worry about being single and that they'll never be loved. Society has us expecting that the perfect guy will just waltz into our lives and we'll live happily ever after. It doesn't work like that. When he takes longer than expected, many start freaking out. They fail to realize if they just relax and put it in God's hands, he'll take care of it.

[.L.O.S.E.R.] They fail to realize if they just relax and put it in God's hands, he'll take care of it. Hehe, yes. God's plan for most people is to marry, and if that's not His plan then you're going to be something really special.

I replied to this thread a long time ago, but I think that I should give an update. As some of you may have seen in my other thread, I have given an engagement ring to my girlfriend. I haven't proprosed, rather I gave her the ring on a chain as a promise. It would cause to many problems for me to propose right now, especially with her parents hating me, so we decided that we would wait until after I'm stable in the military and she is done with high school. We have a strong, God-centered relationship and have been dating for three years on Feb. 15. She is my first girlfriend and I am her first boyfriend. You're probably thinking, "Yeah right, that's never oing to work out!" We both pray and have been praying about it and through a couple small signs and faith, I know that this is the woman God has chosen for me. When I think about me, I can't help but to think about her. One of the things I found useful was only dating people you could honestly and realistically see yourself marrying. We weren't love at first sight, we kind of had a little flirting stage first. Then we had a little outward instigation from mutual friends who knew we liked each other. My point here: Love isn't always like in the movies and sometimes God uses others to turn you in the right direction. Probably the number one thing that me and Britt use in our relationship is honesty. We each know virtually everything about each other and confide in each other constantly. She is my best friend and I don't hold anything back. I've told her my deepest, darkest secrets about how I used to be suicidal and depressed and into some sick, perverted stuff and she has confided in me about her past and how her parents and sister died in a crash when she was younger and how she was molested by her cousins. Honesty is the glue of a perfect relationship and can't be replaced by anything. Don't forget to pray and, more importantly, listen to God about what he wants for you in your relationships. He has a plan for you. This stuff has worked for me, I hope it can work for you!

I agree that dating people you don't see yourself marrying is a waste of time. One of my friends doesn't seem to get that though. I asked her if she can see herself married to her current deadbeat boyfriend, and she said no. rolleyes I think she's coming around, though, because she's talking about breaking up with him... we'll see if she actually does it. neutral

Haven923 Love isn't always like in the movies... Can we pitch a proper love story to some movie guys? I'd see that film. Anyone else? [[Haven, I agreed with everything you said. Plus, you got PRAY'D]]

Yeah, I'd like to see more movies with what love is really like. In pretty much every movie out there, 2 people meet, fall in love (or lust that hollywood wants to label love) and live happily ever after. Sure, there might be a few bumps, but they're either for comedic effect or to make the veiwers cry. But we love to see it. People wouldn't go out to see a movie like real life, because they get to see that for free.

Naw, we could make one on Towns!
Actually, that's a pretty good idea. Anyone want to give it a try?
I'm being serious. If someone has video software on their computer, they could disguise themselves, or hide behind a house or something. xP

I think that that would be a cool thing to put together and perform. Our own Christian love/life story on Gaia. I think we could.....

I don't have the software for it, but I'd be willing to help write a script or do something. This sounds fun!

I could work on the script too... we could maybe all work out a plot and find someone with the software... (I know it exists because of Youtube clips, but I'm not sure how to do it... or if it's legal.) Then we could write a scene each. Ooh! We could all write our own lines! And then someone who isn't in the 'acting' could hide behind a house / tree and film it. But the house would then be in the middle of the screen... Hmm, I'm gonna run around Towns and see if there's a way around it... mrgreen
You know the contest ideas? One of them could be for the storyline of our movie/play/whatever-this-is.
EDIT: We could pool money together for the costumes we'll need?
EDIT x2: Is this really the place to be discussing this?
