Adjo nodded and quickly lead himself and Hale away from the laughing pair, his face still red with a blush. He let out a breath as his tails flicked about, "Why would they hint at something like that anyway?" he asked in a soft growl.

Hale made a frustrated grunt in response. "They are just trying to rile us up." She said in a low voice, tails swaying to and fro. "But them, they..." She chattered her teeth and shook her head, highly irritated. "They're just riling us up. If it wasn't true, I would just shrug it off..."
She lowered her head, a small grin forming at the edges of her maw. "Stupid, stupid Hale... getting angry over mere words."

Adjo lead them over to a tree and he sat underneath it's shade. He hated sitting idle in the sun, it always made him tired when he wasn't moving around. "Well...maybe there is...some truth to it..." he said, his ears twitching and his face going red.

Hale tilted her head, silently regarding Adjo's words for a few moments, doing nothing at first. Then, very slowly, she made her way over to him, lightly bumping his side with her snout. A low rumbling purr began to emanate from her chest and she rubbed her head up against him, calm.
"I... I am glad to hear it," She began, speaking in a quiet voice. "I knew from the moment I met you, that you were not at all like the other Nightmares I had met - not one other is like you. I always felt alone, and I wandered until we crossed paths. You made me feel welcome, and like I belonged somewhere..."
She lowered her head, sitting at his side, resting her head on one of his front paws.
"Call me selfish if you wish, but... I have never experienced that kind of acceptance before. I... I.." She pinned her ears back. "I don't want to let it go."

Adjo was a bit surprised when she bumped her snout on his side, but he purred along with her when she laid her head his paws and he gently laid his head over hers, being mindful of her horns. "You do not have to let it go....I don't wish to let it go either...." he said softly.

Hale made a loud rumbling purr and moved her head up ever so slightly, but not so much to disturb him. She flicked her long snake-like tongue out of her mouth brushing it against his cheek.
"I am glad for that..." She said, before making a loud rumbling content purr. After a moment, she made a soft chuckling noise, and grinned.
"It seems I'm going to have to travel back this way much, much more often."

Adjo wanted to ask her to stay there with him alway, but he wasn't going to ask her to settle down if she still felt the urge to wander, "You will always be welcome here, no matter happens, you'll always have a home and family here....and....I'll always be here." he said softly, flicking his tongue against her cheek.

It was the light-blue Nightmare's turn to blush now. She wasn't used to this kind of situation at all. Grooming her son was one thing, but this was completely, utterly, utterly different. It certainly wasn't unpleasant though... far from it. The female Nightmare was practically grinning from ear to ear now, placidated and more than content being there beside Adjo. If undisturbed, she would be content to stay there for hours.
"I think I would like that," She purred. "I wouldn't mind staying here for some time. I do not have much family to speak of, so there is nothing to go back to. I already introduced you to pretty much all the family I have." She was silent in thought for a moment. "I suppose I could always introduce you to some of the Nightmares in Sceaduwe, but that will certainly not be a pleasant experience. And nowhere near as fun as your family has been."
She grinned. "Threatening to throw your charges in the lake is something that I will have to remember, I think."

Adjo flicked his tongue in and out, a smile going across his own beaked maw. "Well, if you and Zeph wish to stay, you can both stay for as long as you like, the family would welcome the new company! And don't mention that, Aunt Helen always manages to snag us and dump us in the water!"
He then got a little tense, but spoke, "If you wish, I would go with you, but I will not allow them to attack you." he growled.

"There's no real reason to go into Sceaduwe..." Hale said in a low voice, moving her head down to bite at her front claws. "Not unless you want to seek out a fight. You could, too... you're a large male, and I am guessing you're pretty strong." She shook her head. "It's still pointless to go, though. I was shoved out because I am smaller than a lot of them." She snorted. "Good riddance, too..."
"No, here is much more pleasant," She nodded slowly. "MUCH moreso. You are a very lucky Kitsusagi to be surrounded by those who care, and aren't just looking to break your skull."
She chuckled. "Compared to Sceaduwe, I wouldn't actually mind being snagged and thrown in the lake."

He nodded his head. Unless there was a specific reason, he was going to avoid that part of the Kitsu Realm. Yes, he was big like his father and he was strong, but he wasn't going to go looking for a fight. He chuckled a bit, "if you like, I can throw you into the lake!" he chuckled.

Hale raised her head up, and gave his arm a playful light chomp. "Try it and I'll drag you in after me." She smirked. "I don't think you'd do that, though."
She shuffled back, finally sitting up again. The light-blue coloured Nightmare snuggled up her side against the male, purring.
"I want to thank you," She said, smiling. "For showing me kindness, and for showing to me that there are Kitsusagi in the world other than our species that are capable of tolerating us." She lowered her head. "I wouldn't have thought any of this was possible."

Adjo chuckled, poking the tip of his snout against her cheek, "No problem, and they don't just tolerate you, they really do like you!" he said, his tails wagging.

"That's a first," Hale grinned in response. "Normally others go running for the hills, screaming, when they first get wind of my prescence. Can't imagine why."
She smirked further as she felt Adjo poke her with his snout. "You're doing it wrong. It's meant to be like this." Without warning, Hale playfully bumped her snout into Adjo's neck fur, purring, nuzzling his neck with her bony snout. She licked him with her tongue also, taking in his scent. Not that she would forget it in a hurry.
She sighed in contentment, grinning. "Bad luck always seems to befall me. It's hard to believe that I'm not just going to wake up in a few minutes, and come to the realization that this is nothing but a dream."

If he could, his e yes would be wide and blinking when she did that, but all he could do was blush hard and shiver lightly. What a feeling!! He nuzzled the top of her head, grooming around her horns, "It's not a dream Hale. And even if it is, I don't want to wake up either."
