"Squeek!" Dancer realizing that there was now a big fluffy animated object infront of Ramon she wanted to protect him. Jumping closer she launched in on it and sank her newly developed but still soft claws into the ball of fluff. It appeared to twitch as she did so thus she went in with her teeth too.
"No, Dancer! Stop that!"
"I'm so sorry Aki. Dancer, get off that!"

Aki laughed as she saw Dancer getting ready to pounce her tail. She winced a bit when the kits tiny teeth bit her tail, but it really didn't hurt her too much.
"No, no, its ok." Aki said while she let her tail go limp. "Good girl Dancer. You killed the evil fluff ball and protected Ramon! You're a brave kit." Aki smiled kindly at the kit letting her know that it was ok to attack things. Learning to not attack modifoxes would come later once the kit learned that tails were attached.

He practically jumped at the fluffy twitchy thing suddenly in front of him, eyes going wide at the purply one his size attacked it. Was that okay? As the bigger ones made sounds of protest, he figured it might not be, so he approached cautiously, reaching out a paw to poke at the fuzzy thing that wasn't purplish, but a rather bright color. He didn't see the point in making noises just yet, so was rather quiet as he tried to figure out what it was.
Darkshine chuckled and then turned toward the undercover of the tree. "Anyone else going out? It'd be effective to pick different directions to check out for likely gathering places." She had turned her head back over her shoulder as she spoke, tail somewhat coiled over her back. She was grateful that her heart's desire wasn't anywhere close to being fulfilled, else she wouldn't be able to move quietly enough to hunt. Maybe with a few more members, she'd take a serious look into aquireing her dream. But that was the future...not the here and now. She glanced at the sky, trying to get a feel for the time of day. How long should they be out hunting? Would the kits be hungry fairly soon or more when the adults were? These weren't questions within her understanding, but she didn't feel the need to voice them either, figuring that answers would eventually appear. They usually did that for her after all.

Rina smiled, watching Aki play with the kits. Yes, Aki was well suited as a carer. And Katie's protest when Dancer attacked Aki's tail showed that she would be a good one to teach the kits right from wrong.
It was good to see that the modifoxes in the clan were well suited for the positions they had chosen for themselves.
"I believe a few of us should stay here, in case any more come with the interest of joining," Rina told Darkshine.
Having the kits and Aki stay seemed to be best, yet Rina did wish that she could remain as well, to greet any newcomers who might show up.
She had to content herself with waiting until later for that, though.

Darkshine smiled ever so slightly. "True. Perhaps yourself and maybe one other? Especially since we don't know what can be found at the moment." And in her case, the finding out was half the fun. "I'll head out this way and do a wide circle back. That way I can see if I can't scare some smaller prey back this way." She tilted her head in a half-random direction. "Good luck to whoever else is going out." With a quirky grin and a flick of her tail, she trotted out of sight.

Rina was glad to hear that others agreed she ought to remain. That way, she felt slightly less guilty about choosing to stay.
"As the kits are too young to hunt, and as Aki is caring for them, I believe she and they ought to stay. Does anyone object to this?"
She hoped not. It seemed to be the best way to, her. As far as Rina was concerned, any objections would undoubtedly be of a pointless nature.

Katie didnt feel comfortable leaving Dancer and Ramon behind. She believed that if they could even watch the others hunt and live that they would learn quicker. She didnt want to speak up or show the saddened expression on her face so she distracted herself by playing with Dancer.
Dancer looked confused between playing with Aki's tail or Katie's paw but it was great fun pouncing between them anyhow.
Shori sided with Rina. Aki would make a good carer for Dancer and it would give him more time with Katie.

Rina eyed the group of assembled modifoxes. She was not certain, but it seemed Katie wished to say something. If she chose to remain silent on whatever it was, Rina would not force it from the other vixen. Perhaps it was something best left unsaid, and so, she would not force the other to seem a fool by forcing it from her.
